Staying at the Aulani for a week this coming June. Wondering if anyone out there has any glowing recommendations on places to eat at the following places:

North Shore/Haleiwa
Close to Pearl Harbor
Any other places in the island (willing to drive for awesome seafood!!!)

Thanks in advance!

Hi. I will be doing my third trip to Aulani this May 25th. There are some awesome places on Oahu to eat. There is a Roy's right across the street, but it is only so - so. My favorite is Alan Wong's. The main location is in downtown Honolulu and has exceptionally good food. Another in downtown Honolulu is Japengo. They have great Pacific rim seafood and sushi. Café Sistina is a Sicilian restaurant in downtown that is also very good. Maybe you should look at Open Table. They are a restaurant reservation system that allows you to look at menu's and reviews. It might help you see what you like.

We are going to Aulani June 3-8th and my question dove tails the OP's. If you go into Waikiki to Alan Wong's or Duke's is there parking valet or otherwise. I do not want to have to pay $$$$ for parking in addition to meals.

Another vote for Alan Wong's!

I'm also a big fan of Dukes -we always stay at the Outrigger Waikiki and have our rental car already parked there, so I was unsure if there is a charge if you are dining there, but from the Duke's website:

Parking

Validated self-parking available at the Ohana East Hotel. Valet parking available at the Outrigger Waikiki.

Saturdays & Sundays ONLY: 3 hours free parking at the Ohana East Hotel with purchase at Duke's. (Regular parking rates apply after 3 hours.)

Alan Wong's has valet. I don't know about Duke's, but they do have Hula Pie!! Best desert in Hawaii. Made to be shared.

Nico's Pier. On the docks in Honolulu....along with a number of other restaurants. We did lunch, as we did not want to be anywhere near Honolulu during rush hour. Unbelievable fish and chips...got an extra order to bring back to the room. Daily lunch plate and daily specials all very tasty.

I've been looking for a list that one of the pool CM's gave me....the places she likes to go to eat, and finally found it:

Kapolei area:
En Fuego's ...www.EnFuegoGrillHawaii.com (food was good)
Zippy's
Kazoku Sushi
Aloha Salads
Hapa Grill

Waipahu area:
Highway Inn
Leewards Drive Inn
KOA Pancake House
Poke Stop

Town Area (I think this means "city", as in Honolulu/Waikiki)
Nico's (two thumbs up from us)
MAC 24/7
PAC Beach Hotel
BLT Steak House
Rainbow Drive In

None of these places are the fancy schmancy type. It is where the locals go to eat according to the nice young lady that wrote out this list for us. We only did Nico's and EnFuegos. She also mentioned how they like to unwind across the street at MonkeyPods.

North Shore: Giovanni's Shrimp Truck.....the best garlic shrimp, but that whole area has a lot of flies and can be pretty gross. Eating it in the car is not a good idea because of the heavy garlic smell....but better than flies I guess. That whole strip has lots of places to eat.
