I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on the best time to schedule the tour of the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor? We plan to spend most of the day at Pearl Harbor.

My mom and dad used to go to Hawaii every year and always said go early. Crowds hit midday and dont let up.

Go early, that's what we did in July 2010. We were staying at the Wyndham Beachwalk, reserved a car for the day at Enterprise. We picked it up like 7:30 am ish. I had ready how busy it gets, but when we left around 1pm ish it wasn't as bad as I had been lead to believe.

No problem getting on to USS Arizona or the USS Missouri. The kids really enjoyed it(9/13 at the time) ask when we are going back!

It's kind of like WDW, get there at Rope Drop and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the info! Off to recreation.gov I go!

Reserving tickets in advance for the Arizona is fairly new. We reserved a 9am tour and arrived an hour beforehand as recommended. Well, at 8am they were distributing tickets for the next tour (8:20?), so I don't know if reserving an early morning tour in advance from recreation.gov is worth it.

I was just there on Friday. I left Aulani at 7:30 and got to PH at 8:00. My ticket was for the 9 a.m. movie and subsequent ride to the Arizona Memorial. I do think the traffic was a little lighter on Friday, so if you go on Mon-Thur it might take longer to get to PH.

Go early if you can, as others have said, and during the summer months and on holidays it has always seemed busier to me...
