Aulani in June?

We want to go to Aulani in June 2016 but don't own there. We want to stay probably 11-14 days in a 2 bedroom, Ocean View. If we aren't picky about when in June what do you think my chances are of being able to reserve it using my points at the 7 month window? I thought about renting my points and then renting Aulani points or doing a point transfer but I would rather just use my own points and not deal with that if it's possible to book on my own when the 7 month window opens.

Your chances are good, but Standard and Island view may book up sooner and not be available. Your chances are greater if you opt for Ocean View.

Early June before the points go up has been a popular time to go. Next year the difference between June and July goes up even more, so I expect June to be that much more popular. But, like a PP said, the cheaper views go first and it seems like studios go quicker as well. I would not expect to get a cheaper view studio (if that is even what you are looking for). I also would plan to be getting at least pool view in any room size and if something cheaper is available (and you want it) then great!

We are also planning on a 2 bedroom Oceanview for June. We are thinking 7 nights Aulani and then 4/5 on thee Big Island. We are also stopping over in San Francisco on the way home.

Can not wait to start the ball rolling. Hoping to catch some good if not great airfares out of the NJ/NY/Philly area.

Happy planning!!

I am going in September and yesterday I was able to add an extra night to our Ocean View 2 bedroom reservation. What people are saying about the least expensive villas views going first is the case. The only 2 bedrooms available for me to add the night was ocean view lock off or dedicated. Glad we had the OV!

I am so happy, we're getting an extra night in Paradise!

I am just hoping that the extra points for the OV are worth it. I have seen several posts say that it really isn't worth the extra points but I figure I would rather use the extra points for OV than regret that I didn't. Thanks everyone for the advice. I think I am going to risk it and use my own points at the 7 month window. Thankfully my dates are flexible so I can keep trying if the first date doesn't work out.

I figure go big or go home with our trip to Aulani. My boys are older and this maybe our only trip to Hawaii together. I also notice that the larger more points units do not go as fast. Also, how can I not do an Oceanview in Hawaii. But I definitely will be requesting a high floor.

Again, happy planning!

I had a really difficult time getting a studio for mid-to-late June at seven months. The reasoning that a 2BD will be easier makes sense to me, but I would start trying at the earliest date you could go in case ittakes a while to snag a reservation.

Good luck!

Maybe we will be there at the same time! I can't wait. I am hoping that it will be easier to get a 2 bedroom. I am with you, if I am going to Hawaii, I would like an OV. I am a little nervous waiting until 7 months out to reserve but I am hoping that because my dates are flexible will help. I was really tempted to rent out all of my points and then rent Aulani points so I could make a reservation at the 11 month mark but then I realized I wouldn't have control of the reservation and decided against it. I think I am going to book 14 nights and then that gives me a little wiggle room to play around with the airfare. We live in CA so hopefully the flights won't be too expensive.

That's my hope, that a 2 bedroom will be easier to get. We will need the 2 bedroom though as there will be 7 of us.
