Aulani - do I want to request “near lobby”?

Going to Aulani in May for our anniversary & have a one-bedroom ocean view villa (DVC). I noticed that we can only request “near lobby”. Is this something we should request? It’s just my husband & I and we’ve never been to Aulani.

What does 50 series rooms mean? Does that face the inside area where the pool is located or does it face outside?

I put a request in with MS like I always do for WDW....do you really think there's better odds of getting your request if you call the resort directly???

Aulani’s halls aren’t extremely long and the elevators aren’t right by the lobby…they are closer to the center of each tower. We got really lucky with our standard view studio stay and had a partial ocean view on the top floor of Ewa overlooking where the luau was. I believe the room number was 1679.
