I am planning our first Aulani trip and had a question. I wanted to sign my kids up for dinner one night so DH & I could have a nice dinner. Is there a specific time they serve dinner at Aunty's or is it just when we schedule to drop them off? I want to make dinner ressies for us and need to know when I can drop them off for dinner. Thanks!

First post! I've been a lurker for awhile, finally feel like I have something to contribute since I'm just back from Aulani.

Dinner at Aunty's is at 5:30, CM's say to drop off by 5. They do sign-ups in the morning day-of along with the activities (like Volcano Disruption and Stitch's Space Goo). I don't know if lunch/dinner tends to fill up, but a CM did make an announcement that if you leave the line before you pay, your lunch/dinner ticket becomes void. We did do lunch one day last minute, signed up at 10 am (lunch is at 11:30), and it was fine.

Sign-ups begin at 7:45 am, the CMs come out and start handing out sign-up event and lunch/dinner tickets. If it's a free sign-up event, you just fill it out and hand it back to them. The lunch/dinner tickets you have to stay in line to pay.

Do they come through the line and ask you what you want to sign up for and hand you tickets till they run out of tickets- ala Best Buy on Black Friday? How early did you line up for activity tickets? Thanks!

If you are there during a busy time, be prepared for lunch and dinner to fill up early. Get there an hour before the posted opening time. We were there in February 2014 and the resort was at capacity. My DH was in line around the building with many other parents well before opening to get our kids a a space in the free activities as well as dinner. I am not sure if they were doing tickets then, maybe that helps but you definitely need to plan for a very theme park experience if you are there at a peak time :-) Loved Annie's but think they should have a better system then having people wake up early and stand in line. My kids love the dinner service there. It is $10 or less I think and very good for kids. Have fun!

Yes, they go down the line and hand out tickets until they run out of them. The tickets are specific to the event and time. They do make an announcement when they run out. I know because I got the last 2 tickets for Volcano Disruption at 3 pm one day, the only other time that day was 7:30 pm. I lined up twice, each time around 7:20 am. The line by then was 20-30 deep, the people in front moved over chairs to sit in. :)

We were there the last week of February this year. It seemed moderately busy. I haven't been there before though, so I have nothing to compare to.

Thank you both- very helpful! Good thing my kids are early risers- even without a time change!

One more thing.... if you didn't have to stay in line to pay for a meal, how long would you say it took? We have breakfast ressies at 8:15 one morning, wondering if it's cutting it too close?

I think I was done by 8:05. If you go directly to breakfast and it's onsite, and there's no change to the procedures, you should be fine. :)

OK, thanks. So I made dinner ressies for us and will just have to hope that I am able to schedule them that morning for dinner.

Just FYI, your kids don't need to be in line to sign-up for activities. If you're traveling with friends and family, only one adult needs to go stand in line and sign up for multiple kids.

Your kids do need to be with you for registration. It takes at least 15 minutes. You have to fill out the form, CM has to enter the form, get and pay for MagicBands (refundable if returned undamaged), and finally a picture with adult(s) and kid(s). Best to have it done before your first scheduled event. Even better to fill out the form online before arriving at Aulani, which I completely forgot to do.

We signed our 7 year old son up for the Chip and Dale class which was a pay one, but it was nice because dinner was included. And, it was 3 hours long from about 5 to 8 pm or maybe 5:30 to 8:30, I don't remember exactly. Whatever it was, it worked perfectly for us to schedule a long and relaxing sunset meal at Ama Ama. I just double checked with my son, and he still highly recommends that class.

I did book the Fish Are Friends activity for them which is during lunch. They weren't interested in the Chip & Dale one though so we will have to try to sign up for dinner at the club.

Just want to say thanks for this thread! We have a trip in early April scheduled and while I've already booked cabanas, dinner ressies and casabellas I had not considered the kids stuff. Because of the info here I went ahead and completed the Aunty House registrations and booked a Chip & Dale night so the wife and I can have an Easter evening dinner at Ama Ama. The CM told me they were just about full for that day so thanks again! BTW, the CM also told me Chip and Dale is only on Wed and Sunday for those looking to schedule a day.

I'd love to hear your thoughts when you come back! We are also doing a Cabana and Chip and Dale in June!

Will do. I have the Exec. Lanai for a day too so I'll give my impressions on which is better and/or if the Cabana is worth the extra bucks!

Also to add, Fish are Friends activity is Mon & Fri only from 11 am-2pm.

Can someone let me know how much are the paid experiences? Chip and Dale/Fish are our friends etc My kids will be 5 and 10 when we go in June. Would the 10 year old still be interested? Any comments would be much appreciated!

I don't remember, but i think it was around $55-65 each???? My 10 yr old wants to do it, but he likes learning about animals. All I think about is having 3 hrs adult time while they are doing this!
