Hi Everyone!
I am a new DVC member and I am trying to wrap my head around everything. We are now owners at SSr. We plan on going to Hawaii in June 2020. What are the odds of getting a room at the Aulani? We purchased 100 points. We are family of 4 and we do not require much. The window thing is confusing to me. Our points are June points. When can I book June 2020? Since I would not have 2020 points, I would have to use 2019s correct? Or is it easy to borrow from the future?

thanks for any help!

Points matter for when you travel, not when you book.

For a June 2020 trip, you could use the following points:
1- Banked 2019 points (into 2020 UY) (Available to bank between June 1, 2019 and Jan 31, 2020)
2- Current 2020 points
3- Borrowed 2021 points (into 2020 UY)
4- Up to 24 OTUP (One time use points - presently $17/point)

Once banked/borrowed points are locked into the year they're moved into; in your case, 2020. Your banked/borrowed points would have to all be used by May 31, 2021.

When you book has absolutely nothing to do with your UY. You will book 7 months out (December 2019) for your June 2020 trip.

Your odds are good for booking, with the caveat not to budget based on the "hotel room" category, or anything in "Standard View."

Yes, you should be fine. June is a little busy with kids getting out of school. Early June is a little tougher to book because it falls in the choice season, late June jumps quite a bit to Premier. Don't worry though, book what you can right at 7 months. If you have to waitlist a night or two, they will come through, but try and get those wait listed right at the 7 month mark.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice. I am going to read the thread recommended too.
