Doing a complete mind shift here...

Been to WDW in August, vowed to not do it again  What's it like over on the other coast in August?

I went there in 2005 when Oprah was there. They closed off Fantasyland for the entire afternoon.

If I can recall,
Autopia-30mins
BTM-20mins
Buzz-45mins
Indy-55mins
Roger-50mins
Space-120mins (Just opened at the period of time)
Splash- Broke Down!
Star Tours-15 mins
Matterhorn-30mins
Pirates-35mins (This was even before the refurb)
Haunted Mansion- off and on at 0-45mins
Jungle Cruise-5mins

this was at about 3pm.

Good luck, I'm going 8-10!

Goofy, I went in August in 2005 as well, and while I can't remember any specific wait times, I can comment on the weather! It was gorgeous, sunny, probably in the upper 80's to low 90's. I'm from Montana, and if it's more humid in Anaheim, I don't notice it. It felt pretty comfortable to me! And of course, it always cools down pleasantly in the evening. The perfect climate, as far as I'm concerned!

The weather in the middle of August 2006 was warm, but not unbearable during our trip. The mornings and evenings were very nice, but it did get into the low 90s in the afternoon. We missed by 3 weeks or so temperatures of over 100, which would have to be terrible.

The crowds were thick, but nothing like what Christmas and New Year's is like.

We are going again this August!pirate:

First, we come from very warm summer weather and have been to DLR the 3 years mid to late August. Mid to high 90's over 100 a couple of other.
Virtually no relative humidity and it does cool of in the evening. For us it was enjoyable. But trust me, there were many people suffering. Need to keep hydrated and not over do.

The weather at DL is so much more tolerable that WDW in August!
- Temps in the afternoon probably average about 10 degrees cooler (yes, temps can break 100 occassionally, but mid 80s is more common).
- Temps in the mornings and evenings are way cooler than WDW. Natural air conditioning makes DL wonderful in the mornings and evenings!
- Very little humidity
- No thunderstorms!

The wait times noted by DarthVadar92 seems about right for midday, (although as noted, Space Mtn is more like 60-75 minutes now; Splash can be about the same). However, I've gone in August several times and never wait more than 15-20 minutes for any ride, and I do the "E" rides a lot. I just start early, make good use of Fast Pass, and go to DCA midday since it doesn't get as crowded as DL. The lines seemed comparable to WDW in August, although I've only been to WDW once in August.

We will be there this August and have a plan. Get into Disneyland when they open. Get fast passes. Go to California Adventure and do a few things - get fast passes. Have lunch & go back to the room for a nap. (people-watch from our room at the Grand Californian over-looking the Park!) Go back in the late afternoon or early evening and close the place down! It'll be just DH & I so we can go at our pace. We are very excited about Nemo and will put in our time on line for it. Everything else will just be gravy!

Unless there's a heat wave, the above-mentioned weather is right on! I love the low humidity. I swear that I will never go back to WDW in the summer again!

We went the last week in August 2006 and the weather was warm, 80s-90's. It wasn't overly terrible and we did take time out in the day to relax at the pool and cool off. It was crowded. But it was also the first time in many years that we had gone during summer peak hours. We used ridemax which helped a lot with wait times. We always put sunscreen on each morning and brought it along to use throughout the day. We drank plety of water and tried to avoid soda as much as we could. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to go again in the summer.
