We got to MAGIC KINGDOM about 9 a.m. Our plan was to get a Fastpass for BUZZ LIGHYEAR'S SPACE RANGER SPIN but there was only a 15 minute wait, so we went right away. This ride is similar to Toy Story Mania at the Studios, but much harder to shoot and rack up points. We were glad we didn't wait a long time to get on this ride.
We headed over to SPACE MOUNTAIN and had about a 30 minute wait. This was my first time on this ride. I thought it would never end!! I did not care for the dark, fast nature of the ride. Okay! I'm a wimp!
After the ride, we went over to MONSTERS INC. LAUGH FLOOR. It was really cute!! I loved the way the monsters could interact with people in the audience! One of my favorites!!
It was about 10:30 as we were heading over to Frontierland. We passed by the Liberty Tree Tavern and saw that the door was open, so we went in to ask about the possibility of walk-ins for lunch. The woman that helped us said that if we got there right at 11:30, we could plan on getting in as a walk-in. Sounded great to us!
We kept walking over to BIG THUNDER MT RAILROAD with about a 30 minute wait. We picked up a Fastpass for SPLASH MT on our way back to Liberty Tree Tavern.
We got seated right away at 11:30 and had a fabulous lunch or turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans. SO GOOD!!!!
We rode SPLASH MT with our Fastpass, then went on to the HAUNTED MANSION. It was really starting to heat up and the line didn't have very good fans or shade (30 minute wait).
We went into Fantasyland and right to MICKEY'S PHILHARMAGIC. I can see why everyone gives this show rave reviews. So great!! The music is absolutely the best!
We picked up a Fastpass for JOURNEY OF THE LITTLE MERMAID then headed over to Liberty Square to stake out a place for the 3 p.m. parade. Guess what? It started raining. It was a very light rain for about 15 minutes. The announcer came on the loud speakers to say that due to inclement weather the parade would be delayed. About 10 minutes later, they made the same announcement, then another 10 minutes later, they said the parade would be cancelled and they had the Rainy Day Parade. That consisted of people in raincoats and boots and cars with characters riding in them. We felt like we wasted a lot of time waiting for that!
We went on to JOURNEY OF THE LITTLE MERMAID with our Fastpass. Very cute!!
We walked over to the Circus section to catch the RAILROAD TRAIN and rode back over to Frontierland.
We went on PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and then JUNGLE CRUISE. While we were in line for Jungle Cruise, they announced that they MAY have to shut down the ride due to inclement weather, and if they did, everyone would have to leave the line. Wow! Didn't see that coming! Luckily, we made it through.
We headed for Main Street and had a hotdog at Casey's which was good as far as hotdogs go! We decided to take a ride on the MONORAIL since we had time to kill and there wasn't enough time to go back to the resort before the nighttime shows. We rode the full circle and entered the park again.
We would have liked to get on the WINNIE THE POOH ride, but the line was long and the Fastpass would have been during the Electrical parade, so we decided against it. It was the same case for PETER PAN. We did a little shopping and staked out our place for the ELECTRICAL PARADE. It was just the same as I had remembered it with the same music playing throughout. There were some snippets of music mixed in for the various floats, but kind of annoying for the most part.
We had been sitting in Liberty Square for the parade, so we started heading toward the castle for the fireworks. The preshow was amazing the way they could project pictures and graphics on the castle and, of course, the music was fabulous! The fireworks were great as usual. I love it when they coordinate the fireworks with music.
We joined the crowd for the walk to the bus stop. It took FOREVER for the buses to come and everyone was so hot a tired. I'm not sure why it took so long, but that could have been disastrous for some people with the heat.
Anyway, the whole trip was a great success, despite the weather! We saw almost everything on our wish list and had plenty of time for relaxation and fun!! I hope everyone who reads these posts can get some great tips!
