August questions

Hi everyone,
We go to Disney for a week from dec 5- 12 and are staying off-site at Summerfield Suites LBV. Really looking forward to it.
BUT...........
I am now already planning the next trip which looks like it will be August 23- August 31/ 03. there will be 8 of us. 5 adults and 3 kids. And I have some questions........

1. What is the attendance like that week before labour day at Disney parks, Islands of Adventure and Sea World?

2. Has anyone stayed at The Double Tree Resort Villas _ Maingate Orlando? We found the 3 bedroom for $100US/ nite

3. How hot is it that month?

We go every year during the last 2 weeks of Aug. The parks are crowded but not as packed as other summer months because school has started in some parts of the country. However, there are a lot of foriegners from the southern hemisphere who are escaping winter. This means alot of groups which can cause sudden lines at resturants etc.... not a big problem, just something to be prepared for. The weather is HOT, high 90's with high humidity, perfect for hitting the pools and waterparks...BUT bring your ponchos as it rains at least 1 hour every afternoon. This is a good thing as it clears out the crowds...everything still runs. I dont know if where your staying is a good deal or not as I have never stayed there, but I do know that the value season kicks in somewhere around this time so there are ususally deals to be found, (this means shorter park hours). We usually plan it so part of our stay is during high season with late hours, and part value season so we get more stay for our money. Overall in my opinion it's the best time to go if you want to expierence everything. Christmas is more magical but summer is the best and the kids love the last minuite vacation before the long year of hitting the books.......HAVE FUN..........TAZ
