August Park Hours changed?

Am I imagining it, or did the park hours for the week of August 7th change? When I first was planning my trip the MK was open until 11 each night. Now the WDW website shows 10:00.

I suppose a reduction in park hours could be a good thing? Does that mean that WDW is expecting fewer people?

Hmm, I have on my itinerary that the MK is open til 11 through Aug 12th then it changes to 10. I'll have to check...this could alter my plan a little. Thanks for the heads up.

Well....I just checked on the Disney World website, and the times have definitely changed!!!!
I had written down the hours a couple of months ago to plan my trip and I definitely had the dates from the 6th to the 9th down as being open until 11:00 p.m. The website now says 10 p.m.

Thanks for the heads-up....I leave in just over a week and I don't know if I would have checked that website again.

Disney makes a point of giving you their updated park hours (including EMH schedule) at check-in. They can, and do, modify park times often in August. I suspect the lastest they can make changes to the schedule would be 2 weeks beforehand as they have to give the CMs notice on what their schedules look like.

Sounds to me like it won't be as crowded next month as I'd feared!!!

We'll just have to move a little faster to make up for the lost hour!!!

My hope is that the change has been made because they expect fewer people. I haven't seen any update on the touringplans.com site regarding expected crowd levels, so maybe my lower crowd theory is just wishful thinking....

The one schedule that I'm truly curious about is 8/7 for the Studios. A 2nd Fantasmic show was scheduled for 10:30, but the park now closes at 10:00. I'm wondering (and hoping) that the 2nd show is still happening - it was part of our plans....if not, I guess we'll go to plan B....!

I thought the heat was just getting to me! I swore they were different but hadn't printed them out so had nothing but my memory to go on. I hope they are reducing them because they don't have as many reservations as they had hoped- at least I can hope.

Park hours are constantly changing so make sure to look at the times guide available at your resort. If they have reduced the hours then they are probably expecting lower crowds, not a bad trade off.

nhdisnut they have had the 2nd showing of Fantasmic after the parks close. I guess they expect that anyone left in the park after closing is in the Fantasmic theater.

If park hours stay reduced I will need to make sure we take advantage of EMH a little more. It's not going to change our schedule much one way or the other.

AArgh!!

This screws up our ADRs!!!! We learned last time (in crowds that aren't anywhere NEAR the "9" they are supposed to be this trip) that cutting it too close for Spectro is suicidal. Now they move Spectro to an hour EARLIER! GRR! That is NOT GOOD!!!

I was able to change our dinner from WCC to CP so we aren't having to travel out of MK, but I was looking forward to WCC. I guess it is better to minimize the running around. We can do WCC another time.

I am going cross-eyed looking at the itinerary. I hate to admit it, but I am starting to get burned out from all the changes.
