August or September

I am waiting the long wait to plan our next trip to disney in 2008. We are going either the last two weeks in Aug or the second week in sept for two weeks, well more ten days the tuesday to the next thursday. I know it will be hurricane season and it will be hotter than all hell, but what month is better? Is there more rain in one month than the other? the only reason that Aug might be a obtion is that my dd's start school on sept 1st so I am not sure if I want to pull them out the next week.

I go in August because of the school thing. I cannot pull my 3 kids out of school especially with one in high school. I never have a problem at the end of the month since the Florida kids are already back in school. I have heard though that the crowds and prices go way down after Labor Day. So, if that is an option, you should consider that. School seems to dictate our lives and when we can vacation here. Hope that helps!

I don't think there is a lot of difference between the two times, so I would go before my kids got back in school. I think prices go down MID August since so many kids in the south go back to school then. Just keep your fingers crossed for free dining :thumbsup2 and pray that it is not an active hurricane season!

Boy - you are an early planner!!!!

The prices do go down in mid-August (at least for now). I've been down in late August and it's hot and humid. We were also down last year (the first full week after labor day) and it was still very hot and humid. We didn't have any rain worth mentioning.

I found the crowds in Sept (that early week at least) to be very minimal. Most we waited was about 10 minutes for ANY ride and except for Saturday, Disney left the covers on the Fast Pass machines. I seem to remember that the crowds were a bit more in August (although not near as bad as when we were down in June/July). There's no way to determine what hurricane season will be like. Last year (in Sept) we ended up between two hurricanes and had no rain!

If Disney continues with their fall promotion (at least from the last two years) you should be able to get the free dining (from mid-August through the end of September).

The biggest decision is whether to pull dd out of school.

We go the end of August every year. The Euro. are leaving since Holiday is done and the southern schools are back in school. We never wait for a thing. It is great!!! Good luck deciding. :)

We pull our kids out every year but make up all of their work. Don't know how old your kids are but ours are able to finish their work and one is in private school. We love the end of September or earlier October because of the lack of lines and nice weather. But the people will be less in September unless it is Labor Day or course.

We are going Sept. 17 and I hope it will be nice- the crowds are way less but I'm just worried about hurricanes! I would hate for that to ruin a trip we have been wanting and planning for so long!! We have been in Sept. before and just missed a hurricane and it was so nice there after!- still HOT

thanks for all the advice I can alway count on the dis. I dont have a problem pulling my kids out of school. right now dd 6 is ahead of her grade so we will see at the end of school year 2007/2008 which she will be going 3rd grade and dd 3 will be entering K and we have half days right now so i am not worry about that maybe if it changes o full day it might make a difference. I wish it was this year that I would have to make the decide cause I would go both months :rotfl:
