August 9, 2011 (8/9/2011) Taking the Wonder to see the AMERICAN CHILD

Oh lordy....the trouble and the pictures....the Wonder would have been in trouble for sure with the 3 of us onboard. One of these days it WILL happen. There's still cabins left on the 9/7/12 birthday cruise!

One of these days, it WILL. You need to cruise the Fantasy on 6-23-12.

Jay just shook his head when I told him I wished I were sailing with you guys.

Oh, it's going to happen! It's just a matter of when! I think we'd have to have the 3 of us in our own cabin though! :dance3:

For our Baltic cruise last summer, I worked until 2:00 on the day we flew out. Our flight left at 6:00 that night! I think the shuttle came to pick us up at 3:30 or 3:45!

Wow. That is cutting it close.

We're just starting the packing process now. Doing laundry :laundy: and making sure we have everything we need. I'm finding even with all the time I've spent here trying to learn and figure things out, there are still a lot of things I don't know.

We purchased nice little containers for water at the Disney Store so everyone will have plenty of water available, but I didn't think once about refillable cups for sodas. I'm going to have to start looking into that.

DD18 and DD16 were packing their foam swords when I mentioned that people dress up for pirate night. pirate: I realized that I didn't share this little tidbit with anyone. They told me they wanted things to be more of a surprise so they didn't want me telling them all the details. I guess I may have kept a little too much to myself. :confused3

At least now I'm off work and can get into full vacation mode! :cool1:

Greetings from Victoria, BC Canada!!!

We are on Day 3 here. Beautiful place!!

On Day 1 (Wed), we did the Children's Farm at Beacon Hill Park (my 14yo said "Mom, I think I just died of cuteness!") with the baby goats, piglets, bunnies, etc. They want to go back again before we leave here!

Yesterday Day 2, we went to the Butterfly Garden (very cool) and then to Butchart Gardens. Oh my - so gorgeous!!! In the evening, we walked the Inner Harbour with all the vendors and street performers. I did a little shopping, but all the souvenir stores have essentially the same merchandise (on Government Street). Need to get off the beaten track I guess.

Today we are going to the Royal BC Museum and Chinatown.

We are staying at the Marriott. Very nice - 2 blocks from the Harbour.

Weather has been cloudless blue skies ~72 in Victoria. At Butchart Gardens it was HOT! Glad we wore tank tops & shorts! We did bring jackets and needed them on the bus! So cold you could hang meat. We also needed the jackets when we stepped off the bus back in Victoria about 5:15pm! Chilly compared to Butchart. The wind was coming off the water.

We went back to the hotel, had something to eat and then decided to go to the Inner Harbour. Well we walked out of the hotel about 8:00pm. Had to go back to the room for more layers. We ended up with fleece and a windbreaker to stay warm. That just gives you an idea of the weather.

Tomorrow we leave Victoria and head to Vancouver until the cruise. I will try to report back again.

Safe travels to everyone!

(ok, for those of you who are from cali...maybe it won't be a big deal...?) i know there's a fe thing people signed up to do, and i didn't sign up for that. just didn't want to drive myself crazy! but i was thinking for our next cruise, if there's a fe thing happening, i'll bring this! so i have something (very small, really!!) to share w/all of you...who will be at the lounge @ 3. :flower:

Sounds like you are having an EXCELLENT time. We went to Buchart on a recent repo cruise aboard RCL (well ... recent as in a few years ago now). We were there in May and it was just a little rainy. LOVE ... LOVE ... LOVE that place.

Here is a pic from back then.

We're spending tonight at the airport and then flying out first thing tomorrow morning. They are predicting rain so I hope the flight isn't delayed. Newark was recently rated the worst for flight delays.

Posting from the airport..

Hopefully the rain will hold off or be light! We are on the same flight!

Happy travels to everyone getting to Vancouver!

We leave tomorrow morning from JFK. I think that is third on the list for delays. Hoping for the best, but that's why we fly out early just in case.

Safe travels everyone!

I was putting together my FE gifts and unfortunately one item did not make it over the pond in one piece. Sorry!
