August 2024 Refurbs..Haunted Mansion Holiday opens July 29th! Space Mountain and Disneyland Railroad start August 5. Monorail starts August 12.

Fresh baked said he heard rumors that the railway will be closed for up to 3 months and will also have more similar closures in the future.he said they want to replace all the track and that is a 12 month process

The rumor is a 4 year plan to replace the entire track which would take 1 year/12 months and completed by 2027. @3month closure per year. I would not believe everything he says. 2025 is the 70th for DL most everything will be open. He also says the HM will open early. I would take a bet that it won't open early. I like him and watch his videos but he is not always very accurate. Also I recall the RR being closed for nearly 2 years as GEdge was being built -- huge refurb happened then in 2016/2017. We shall see.

I had the same thought. The train was closed for over a year during GE construction and sections of the track were entirely replaced. Quite possible they replace track in different sections or again, and there are multiple lengthy closures, but we shall see.

We shall see about the RR. I can see them doing the HM LL for the money! It would be great if they open HM early but I think it will open on Aug 23.

Repairs to the blue tunnel. Upgrades to the track and floor maintenance.

So the Disneyland website and the app both list the Haunted Mansion closed on Aug 23rd.. What is going on? Website/app error? No virtual queue for opening?
What is sad is Walt built the entire park in a little over a year and we have been waiting forever for HM and Tiana.

I checked the app this morning and was stunned to see all the closures still listed for the start of Halloween time (Aug 23)... especially Haunted Mansion. I thought for sure they would start the virtual queue that day.

I also checked. If you on the DL website. Both HM and HMH have no times available for August 23. I have no idea what is going on.

I think it would be insane if they can't have HM open in late August.....we literally are doing V Q to get it open...so to me would be such a bad look if it doesn't open at Halloween opening weekend

2) Usually, there's a point where HM is "closed" and HMH is "open" - they flip a switch and hide HM in the system. For whatever reason, we're not there yet. (To a lesser point, HM will be closed on 8/23 regardless of whether HMH is open.)

Yeah, I wouldn't read too much into a schedule that just became visible today. We're still quite a ways out from August 23rd.

And you're right that different versions of attractions are often listed differently on the DL website. Note, for example, the recent panic over the Main Street fireworks because only the Galaxy's Edge version was listed.

Yeah they dont want to announce it's opening on date so far away while they are still building. They might find a problem or have bad weather and have to delay it a week or so and then everyone complains

I also was hoping and thinking this because they still have Magic Happens listed on the 23rd and 24th and I believe it was to end the 22nd. However I do hope they update it soon for those arriving during that time.

Many of the Disney youtubers keep referring to a rumor they heard that Haunted Mansion may open (by VQ only) before August 23rd. Because Disney is hoping for a sooner date, they may not want to put a date on the calendar at all yet. This of course is just a theory, but it kinda makes sense because after August 5, there is going to be alot closed in the park. Disney is probably super eager to get HM up and running.

Your disappointment is shared by more than you know. We arrive on the 24th - as we are DVC we booked nearly 6 months ago. Visiting DL is kind of a once per decade trip for us so it's definitely a huge bummer for what the price of tix are. There should be a discount for so much being closed!

I think August will not be as crowded this year. All the closures, schools back in session and Tiana's not ready. Halloween Time will bring guests back in Sept and October. I called Walt Disney Travel Company today to ask a few questions about my hotel/ticket vacation package and was told according to operational plans...Tiana's will not open until the queue for HM is done. Her guess was the queue will not be finished until the middle to late fall....she said HM will be virual queue and possibly LL purchase option (though she said that idea was being thrown around). She also said Tiana's will not open until the HM gift shop is completed as well. My guess is Tiana's will open in early 2025 for the 70th - maybe January/Feb.

HM, Splash and SM all down at the same time is insane...not to mention Pooh/Train as well.
