He was my first crush - cut all his photos out of "Tiger Beat" magazine!:sunny: OK - I've obviously given away my age with a comment like that!::yes::

Grumbo - how is Rama as a concert venue? They have a lot of great acts there but I've never made the trek up the 400 to go there! (No gambler here - no wonder I don't miss having a casino on the Magic!)

BTW - Of course Denine and I are twins - we're both princesses!
Better be nice to us!princess:

Have a good evening, everyone!

Love the picture of the Grumbo family. I hope you had fun at the concert and played at least a few slots. I am kinda glad there is no casino on the ship as I would spend way too much time in it.

25 members in the Yahoo group. Keep coming over people, we will have a party!

Jason, since your age is in black in your picture at 3crs, I am assuming that you will be one more than that during our cruise? or will it be 2? anyway, it doesn't matter, at least one drink is on me that day.

Have a great night everyone,. I think I will get to sleep early for a change.

We're off to the airport in one hour! Dh and I miscalculated the final packing and have been up all night, lol! Good thing we have a five hour flight and can sleep on the plane. This is a good preview for the cruise on 8/20/05!!!

We're looking forward to meeting DIS friends that we met on this board!

Thanks for all the great tips and support all!

Have a safe, healthy, and fun June!

Well despite my initial trepidation Donny was pretty good. He is 46 years old now and has been on the stage for 41 years. He really looks at ease and like he is enjoying what he is doing on the stage.
Mississaguamom - Rama is a great venue. Tickets are cheap (we get a lot of freebies so even better), the acoustics are great, no smoking in the area where the concert is held and there are really no bad seats in there as there are two huge tv screens on either side of the stage. I work about 10 - 15 minutes from it so have supper generally in town and then go over for the show. We live in Barrie so thats not too far either. Heckuvalot cheaper than anything in Toronto or area and the parking is free ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I just got off the phone with California Pizza Kitchen for a potential 7/31 meet. They were very accommodating as long as we start the lunch by 11:30. He said that it would be best not to do individual checks and that lunch would be probably $20 max. This might be a nice place and if we have less than 30 people we'd have a section to ourselves. What do you think?

Sounds good to me. It doesn't matter where we go to eat to me....I'm just going to meet you guys!

If he never takes a break, where is he???

Maybe he just looks a little flushed in this picture!!!

Looks a little flushed! :rotfl: :rotfl:

The water for the locks is fresh water because Lake Gatun is higher than the locks and can flow down into them. If they used sea water, they would have to pump the water up into the locks. So, eat, drink and be merry and don't worry about how much you weigh!

Marsha--

My current age is reflected on the cruise list. I'll be turning 30 during the Panama Canal cruise. Gosh, it just sounds weird to say that!

I still don't feel like an adult! :teeth:

Hey Grumbo! Wow you are a hard working guy! Had to make up for all that time spent in Haight/Ashbury, huh?!! :)

Hey Grumbo,

I'm back here where I belong, but I'll probably be travelling over to the other thread again. I just can't help myself.:teeth:

Yes, we are a lovely bunch - aren't we??? :rotfl:

as requested...

Headcount - 391
Groups - 104
DISnames - 115

Not many changes at this point - last week we had one group add and one group loss which washed out the the same numbers.

A little funny for today:

A guy went to a travel agent and tried to book a two week cruise for himself and his girlfriend.

The travel agent said that all the ships were booked up and things were very tight, but that he would see what he could do.

A couple of days later, the travel agent phoned and said he could now get them onto a three day cruise.

The guy agreed and went to the drugstore to buy three Dramamine's and three condoms.

Next day, the agent called back and said that he now could book a five day cruise.

The guy said, "I'll take it," and returned to the same pharmacy, to buy two more Dramamine's and two more condoms.

The following day, the travel agent called yet again and said he could now book an eight day cruise.

The guy agreed, and went back to the drugstore. He asked for three more Dramamine and three more condoms.

The pharmacist looked sympathetically at him and said, "Look, if it makes you sick, why do you keep doing it?"

These are supposedly true stories from someone who works on a cruise ship.

1. (For this one, you have to know that it's really easy to get lost in the maze of corridors and elevators on a ship.) A lady asked if this elevator went to the front of the ship.

2. Two elderly women were staring at the numbers of the floors listed above the elevator door. When asked if they needed any assistance with something, one asked how they were going to be able to reach way up there to push the button for their floor.

3. A newlywed couple, after bringing their luggage into their cabin, stormed down to the desk. The bride was in tears, and the groom was red faced. When asked what the problem was, the groom started swearing at the desk clerk. "We booked a cabin with a view for our honeymoon, and all we get to see out the window is a parking lot!"

4. There was some mix-up with a woman's room. The clerk (or whatever they are called on ships) was trying to remedy the situation. He asked, "Would you like an inside cabin or an outside cabin?" She replied, "Well, it looks like it might rain today. I'd better get an inside cabin."

5. Two women were sitting by the pool, and one asked what kind of water they fill the pool with -- fresh water or sea water? The cruise director answered, "Sea water." "Oh, that explains why it's so rough today."

6. Someone -- always a man -- always asks, "does the ship run on generators?" The Cruise Director usually tells them, "No, we just have a very long power line running to the mainland."

7. "What do you do with the ice sculptures after they melt?"
