Dear DIS family,

I know that there have been numerous illnesses and family trageties amoung our group, and I hate to add to that number, so I almost did not post this information!

However during my last doctors appointment they found a pilonidal abcess cyst, I was told the treatment is actually not a huge risk, however during the exploritory procedure to drain the infection they received nothing from it but blood and then could not get it to stop bleedding. This was on Friday, the doctor notified the hospital and made arrangements for the surgery to remoce the cyst to happen this coming Monday! This is being done as an outpatient, however he has already told me that with the excess bleeding there is a huge possiblity that I will be spending the night.

Sorry to drop this on you all!

Please keep me and my family in your thoughts tomorrow.

Dan, good thoughts that you will be fine after surgery. Being the nosy person I am, I googled it. It reads like you will be fine, but I will be thinking about you all day. Hopefully someone can check in and let us know how you did, and hopefully that someone will be you!

Rain all night here but supposed to have stopped now till Wednesday. Everything is getting greener, the trees are beginningto bud. Maybe spring will be here before the first official day of summer.

Now I know why this sounded familiar. I did the search and realized that I had this procedure done when I was in my teens!

Just a word of warning, be prepared to not to go to the movies for a while! And once the draining tube is pulled, buy that "Donut" to sit on! It will definately be a godsend!

Good Luck that they get it the first time! I had the procedure done twice 'cause they did not remove it properly the first time!
