August 20, 2005 - L.A. to Port Canaveral - Eastbound Repo Cruise - The SHIP OF FOOLS Part 3

See the Space Shuttle is scheduled to take off May 15th, 2005 from the Kennedy Space Centre. Day after the Practice Cruise leaves. Perhaps the other cruisers will be able to see it as it goes down range...
We saw a rocket take off on the last night of our 7 day Eastern last year. It was neat as we were along way away but could watch it come towards us and off into space.
I guess for Izzi and family its old hat, but hope the other Repo cruisers get a chance to see it :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Ok folks....am losing my mind or did I dream it or did I actually read that DCL is holding the ships in the harbors until 9:00 am and having boat parade with fireworks upon the arrival of the ships in LA and PC????
MJ - You are not losing your mind. I definitely saw this, too about the ship being held until 9:00am. I remember thinking that we may run into trouble because we have a 12:25pm flight home. I do not know exactly where I saw it.

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My family (DH, DD10, and DS11) will be joining the Eastbound Repo Cruise. I'm so glad that there is a place to come and meet other cruisers, learn from the pros's and get info about the cruise. We are not telling our kids till a couple days before hand and I might just burst if I did not have a place to go and vent/talk about this cruise. This will be our second Disney cruise and this time we have splurged on a cat 4 room with the verhanda. We will be flying from Nanaimo, British Columbia ( that's on Vancouver Island ) but haven't purchased any tickets yet. Initially, I had thought that we would like to spend a couple of days after the cruise at the theme parks. But after having just spent Spring Vacation and Easter at Disneyland (my daughter's dance group perfomed there) amongst the amazing amount of people there, I think that the Labour Day Long Weekend would probably be even more crazy. Any thoughts? Also, for my fellow Canadians, did you go through a Canadian travel agency or through Disney to book the cruise? We booked through BCAA and I guess because of that, I can't check my reservations ( room # etc.) with Disney. It's a little frustrating using a third party when you just want to get going and get all your ducks in a row................

Counting down, :hourglass

Martina

Welcome Martina!!!
Good to have another Canadian to keep this rabble in order :) At least you'll be able to spell COLOUR, FAVOURITE and LABOUR :)
I booked through AllSeasons in Florida. If anyone uses a travel agent you're stuck in not be able to check with DCL re your cruise, but I can call my TA anytime, and they are great giving me any and/or all info I need.
Guess you won't be doing the raft rides seeing as being from Nanaimo you use bathtubs to get around the harbour all the while anyway ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Welcome Martina!

We're all here just trying to have fun and figure this cruise out. You call us pro's...I can tell you for sure none of us has EVER been on the Magic through the Panama Canal. That's why they're having the Practice Cruise for us in May!

Why isn't my state spelled Flourida????

Welcome Martina! Nice to have another Canadian onboard. :cheer2: :cheer2:

We live in the Toronto area, but are actually flying to LAX from Vancover to spend a few days at DL/DCA before the cruise.

My reservation was originally made directly with DCL, but I have since switched to All Seasons Travel. (Love those onboard credits! :teeth: )

Other than payments and room assignments, you'll get WAY more info here than from ANY travel agent. Feel free to ask any questions you have about this cruise - we love to help!

About the April Newsletter ...

Much as our little "darlings" may need to learn the valuable lessons that "God Is Watching You Even Though You're At Sea" or "The Elevator Game Will Not Get Me Into Heaven Any Sooner" I'm sorry to report that these events will also NOT be proceeding as originally scheduled. :sad2:

Since Teacher is cheerfully anticipating "The Day After The Night Before" :teeth: and all the fun we'll be having onboard, I'm sure everyone would like to provide the above lessons to your own families in their own inimitable ways! Thank you for your interest!!!
