Don't any of you people work for a living? Here I am busting my rear all day long, just trying to make a buck to feed Mary, and you guy's are all playing games trying to get to 15,000. How pitiful! At least the winner has an excuse...she's retired! The rest of you----shame! Stealing all that time from your company!

(Damn, I knew I shoulda missed that stupid meeting and spent more time online!)

I've just skimmed over the posts today due to a busy day, but I look forward to reading them in depth soon! Arlene, thank you for your PM! I will write you soon!

Well, like I said, we are very excited!!! OK, I usually do not share "such" personal info., but Brian and I are very proud of our dd and are bursting at the seams!

Our delightful, very smart, sociable, loving, and beautiful dd has been working hard for years on her reading. She has dyslexia which makes her brain process letters and
written language in unusual ways (letters are processed backwards, letters jumping around, and much more). Well this week, she passed two reading benchmarks in a row, and is just one small step from being on grade-level for reading!!! She has made new neural pathways and is close to becoming a normal reader! It has been a journey, and she has had to work much harder than children who have normal reading and visual processing skills. We are so very proud of her! We believe she will be on grade level for reading by the end of the school year!

As her well deserved reward, we made ressies at the DL Hotel to stay in a concierge level room for Friday, May 6th! She will bring her best friend along too. I also made ressies for Blue Bayou for that Friday night for dinner, and for the Princess breakfast at DL for Saturday mid-morning. We will eat breakfast items on the concierge level early, go to the parks for rides when they open and you get more in, then go to the character breakfast.

The ressies CM said the new fireworks and parades for the 50th anniversary are tear jerkers, that we all be amazed and full of Disney magic after seeing theme!

I just had to share! (PS Did you know how many people have dyslexia? Some are Charles Schwaab, Tom Cruise, Einstein - I think), and that's all I can think of right now because I have to take dd to her religious ed. class. Take care all!)

Congratulations to your DD, Barb! There is nothing neater than a really proud parent sharing a story of a child overcoming adversity! She did it, but I'm sure you guys were there every inch of the hard journey!

Barb - congratulations to your daughter. You go ahead and brag... that is quite an accomplishment. She must have worked really really hard.

That's great news Barbara! Now what do I have to do to go with you to Blue Bayou :rotfl2:

Way to go Marissa!!!

New Deck Plan Feature!

You will soon be able to roll your mouse over the various highlighted staterooms to find out which Fool is in which room!

To test this new feature:

1. Go to the Deck Plans

2. Roll your mouse over to Deck 2 and use Room 2098 as a test subject.

3. Once your mouse is over that room, look at the bottom left corner of your Internet Explorer window!

Currently only a few rooms on Deck 2 have this new feature but it will be expanded to cover all of the decks. However, only those Fools who have provided an actual Stateroom number will be identified.

Don't forget, if you would like to send in new information for the Deck Plan or have updated information, Nancy is the point person. She can be reached via PM or at Perdita@*****************

Cool! I just shared this with my little test subject. ;)

Barbara,

Congratulations! I could feel the pride and excitement in your posts about your daughter's achievement. What a great set of parents she has, providing such a generous reward!

Robin,
Your PM box is full apparently. I got a strange message when I tried to reply. So I'll just have to reply here: Sounds great ! I can't wait !

Ok. So we're less than 75 miles apart (that's driving distance - even closer "as the crow flies"). There's not much to do here really. You could go to the Polar Caves (you're not clausterphobic are you?) or Ruggles Mine. There's the Quechee Gorge "over the river". You could go see where the Old Man in the Mountain used to be. Not much else really.

I have very fond memeories of in Inn at Quechee and even fonder memories of the food :teeth:

Barbara, congrats to both you and DD

Here is hoping she loves every minute of her well deserved reward.

KUDOS to your DD Barbara!

That is one impressive milestone!

Are you from the area? I've never actually been to the Inn at Quechee (and never been to the Quechee Gorge). I've only lived here (in Lebanon, NH) since 1999. Before that I lived in Randolph, VT for 3 years and before that I lived in Sheldon, VT (where I was born).

:cheer2: :cheer2: Congraulations to Marissa!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

 Barbara, you must be one proud MOM!!!!!

I will be talkin to you soon!!! ;)

Barbara--that story brought tears to my eyes..........how awesome!!

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha--congrats on the D of the D!!!(and the 15,000th post)!!!!!!!

Had my 3 hour LASIK consultation today---will be getting it done next Wed!!! I am so stoked! I'm getting "custom lasik" in both eyes--costs a little more than standard but has a higher % of attaining 20/40 or better. Worth it to me!! My mom also is a great candidate for it (despite her worries if she was or not)--she will get "custom lasik" in one eye and monovision in the other (I think that's what it was--so she won't have to use reading glasses). Thank God Shawn's on vacation next week--to tend to Addison the first 24-48 hours. The techs were telling me about one lady who used powder makeup before she was told she could and it got in her eye and now needs a cornea transplant!! I will do exactly as told!

Prayers to you Mel and your family!

Barbara, Congrats to DD Marissa ! You should be very proud.

Amanda, that's great news. I had the custom lasik as well. Definitely follow doctor's orders. You only have one set of eyes!
