Announcing JGE's low cost vaccinations

For just a small portion of the costs of going to your doctor JGE will give you all the shots deemed necessary buy their crack staff, or is it staff on crack. details will follow shortly.

How many in the sisterhood would "moon" JGE in order to get the shot? Think I'll take my chances on the food. ;)

This does make choosing excursions easier, now I can rule out any that serve lunch.

I don't have a problem with the Westbounders getting the newsletter. Maybe they are looking for ideas. I'd be interested to know what they are doing as well. I don't read their thread and I'm assuming they don't really read ours. Too much to keep up with. Anyhow it would be nice to see a summary of what they are up to as well.

Lets see...never heard of even1. Laughed out loud on the post about the man in the locker room.

Not getting any shots. Talked to our MD not long after we booked. He asked if we were planning on eating on shore in Mexico. After I finished making gagging noises, he said he'd take that as a no. And that we didn't need any shots. He also said if we were planning any excursions into rain forest or any where there might be mosquitos there were shots we would need.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELINDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :jumping1: :bday:

Fighting a nasty head cold. Or major allergies. Not sure which.

Estelle

Estelle what if you decide to go on an excursion that includes lunch at one of the ports? I don't think I'd eat just anywhere in Mexico but the beach breaks include a buffet lunch.

Hey Fools,

After another near fall on the ice this past Monday, which resulted in a sprained knee, leaving me out of work and going to PT three times a week for the next three weeks, I have decided that this is going to be my last winter as a water meter reader. After 26+ years on the job, it's time to pass the meter readings to younger and stronger knees. I spent most of the day going over my options on the State of NJ Pensions website, and Hazel and I have decided to make the move to Florida by the end of 2005. I had a nice 3 hour 15 minute chat with my mom on the phone this morning, we will be moving in with her for a while upon our arrival in Florida. In order to make this move, we must cancel our trip to California in August. We are hoping to put our home, on the market, in the next few weeks. Depending how quickly our house sells, will determine our actual move south.

Look out Florida, Verandah Man cometh!!! :cloud9:

Anyone that is looking for a bag that will hold credit cards, passports, tickets, cell phone and other stuff. I found this bag from ebags.com that I ordered and really like. It is large enough to hold everything that I need, yet small enough not to be bulky.

Here's the link - http://www.ebags.com/baggallini/large_wallet_bag_nylon/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=18642#

I ordered mine through Hotwire Savings Club and saved 20%. They also donated 10% of the purchase (if you purchase a pink bag) to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

They even have the bag in lime green. I got the pink one so my order would be eligible for the donation. It's a really cute bag so if you're looking for something like this, check it out.

Andy, I'm so happy for you. And I'm sad for me. I was so looking forward to celebrating your 50th birthday party in DL with Rae and the gang. However, I perfectly understand the desire to move south. Congratulations on making the decision and best of luck in selling your house.

Wow, what news Andy. You must be really excited to be moving. How is your daughter handling the news? Sometimes, teenagers don't want to leave their friends and school.

Good Luck. Maybe we'll finally get to meet one day. Or better yet, if you'r down in Florida when we bring the Magic back home, maybe you stop by and say hi.

Thanks!!!

It was a tough decision, but one that "HAD" to be made. It might be a bit tight at first, but once we get adjusted to the lower income, I think we will be just fine.

Kathy - I'm not Estelle, but I wanted to reply to you about this.

I know that we're not going to be eating ANYTHING while we're in Mexico and that includes the lunches that are provided with the excursions. I'm planning on ordering room service and packing a lunch or we'll just head back to the ship. There is no way, I'll eat in Mexico since I heard too many horror stories about people getting sick from eating the food there.

Actually, Angelina is very excited about the move, even more so than Hazel at this point. Angelina had me go on the internet and find out when she can get a part-time job, and when she would be able to start driving, all earlier ages than NJ, which has me a bit nervous, but she is really excited to be moving to Florida, which makes the move all the "EASIER."

That is wonderful Andy!! :cheer2:
Andy, where in Florida are you moving too?? I hope you don't move too close to Izzibob..He'll drive you nuts!! :rotfl2:

Is it possible you might be able to greet us when we bring Magic back home? Are you close to the CC port???

Calling for more ice and snow here tonight(in fact it is snowing now) so I can so understand (and envy) your decision.

I was looking forwrd to meeting you, but it will just be postponed. Maybe we'll hook up at Dixie Crossroads before my thankgiving 2006 cruise. My husband still thanks you ever time he thinks of rock shrimp.

For Maryland folks here is a listing of MD vineyards http://www.marylandwine.com/wineries/mdwine/main.html

What an education, it appears that Maryland has a wine competion (the Governor's Cup) and some of the wineries offer free tastings. Who knew :confused3

Do you live near Baltimore? We really enjoy visiting the Inner Harbor. (And eating crabcakes!)

Possible Bus To MCO after cruise-Update

Are there any more people interested yet?? Our total so far is 78, and there is room for 55 per bus.

If we use Mears Transportation and manage to fill the bus (capacity 55) the final cost will be $7.29 per person. If bus leaves the Port by 10:00am or so, it should put us at Orlando Airport by 11:00am. Cost for bus is 401.25 and tip is included as per my contact. Departing Airline is needed to make sure you are dropped off at correct side of terminal.

Some people have mentioned the bus times seem a little late. We can make our pick up time anytime we want and if we have 2 buses they can have different pick up times.

Andy...Good move! Saw all the details over on the other board, and your health is most important. I don't care if I miss you in California, cause you'll be a new neighbor anyway! Figuring out the finances is always hard. Here some things you probably already know, but will help offset the reduced income. No state income tax in Fl. Housing is still relatively cheap. Need AC in the summer, but virtually no heating bill in the winter. I've lived a lot of places, and Fl gives a lot of bang for the buck. Disney is a great idea. When I retire in July, I am seriously considering trying to get a job at the Disney terminal. Talked to a guy who checked us in on the last cruise. lots of retirees work there. money isnt great, but its always 3 days a week and good benefits (Disney stuff).

Welcome to Florida!
Bob

Verandaman - Andy, good luck in the sale of your house and all the best in your move to FL!

Piglet33 - I have that bag, too! Love it! And I also had the small one before they came out with the large one. I highly recommend them.

Re: eating in MX - When we were in Acapulco for a week we took 2 Pepto Bismul tablets before every meal (read a tip to do that). Neither of us got sick. Don't know if it was the Pepto or just luck.
