I like the new avatar! :)

Here's a neat website I found concerning Cabo San Lucas. It's basically a trip report of a couple that stayed there. They flew in and wern't on a cruise but it is very detailed with tons of info on the area. She has pages on restaraunts, shopping, and more.

Exactly WHAT is Curacao liquor? I have heard of it but never tried it. Is it something to buy and enjoy onboard?

We had such beautiful weather yesterday. Something like the low 60's. I just looked out the window now and it is snowing HARD. So hard to believe people were running around in short sleeves yesterday and full winter gear today.

Please add me to the list of medallions. We would like two. Thanks!

Cool website kmiles. thanks for sharing.

So is anyone planning on going to Curacao Liqueur? Here's a link to their website - http://www.curacaoliqueur.com/

Renee,

Thanks for the pointer to an interesting site. We really haven't decided what to do in Curacao, but going there could be an option. Whether we take their tour or not, I definitely want to purchase some of their liqueur...... hopefully there is a liquor store near the port.

I can do the last newsletter like a weekly Navigator for everyone to bring onboard with them! That way we'll have dates and times of all events, a list of cruisers and cabins and special events for the sailing. No need for a printer or paper! I'll bring a few copies with me (may make you get a copy yourself if I get close to running out).

Tracy

You are fabulous!

Speaking of digital cameras, I want to buy my 6 year old a digital camera to take on this cruise.

I figure it will be cheaper in the long run since I know she'll use a ton of film. I'd like one that won't be destroyed in 5 minutes, will hold at least 75 pics (prefer at least 100) at a time, or has a slot for some sort of memory card, and doesn't eat through batteries.

Anyone have any thoughts. I actually saw a child digital camera at Wal-mart one day. It was in an opened package, where it wasn't supposed to be with no price. The web address on it didn't take me anywhere useful, so that wasn't much of a help.

OK, I ordered a sample and asked for lime green. It came via UPS, so here it is. Just need to add the clip for the tag. Also, use your imagination and picture it printed "Ship of Fools, 2005" in navy block letters on it.

Curacau Liqueur is available here. It is usually Blue, it is what is used to colour Blue Hawaiians Blue! I believe it is an orange flavored liqueur, but not as bold as say Grand Marnier. There is an excursion that offers a factory tour (with a free taste at the end?) I believe. I will probably do that excursion. And it is not only blue, it comes in clear, green and yellow.

It's an orange flavored liquor. Used in lots of mixed drinks that have a tropical flare. Basically, it falls in the heiarchy of orange flavored liquors near the bottom. (Although, that totally is up to the individual drinking the drink.)

Similar to Cointreau, Grand Mariner, any triple sec.

The "Curacao of Curacao", as it is called on the island, is said to be unique and the only true Curacao because of where it is produced. One neat thing about it is that they make it in so many different colors!

Marsha - How long is the lanyard? Can you take a quick measure for us? Thanx!

18 inches from bottom of ring to top of the loop. It is also stretchy, it gives about 1/2 inch. It is soft like T Shirt material, but thicker. Hard to describe, exactly!

I read somewhere -- may have been cruisecritic.com-- that the liquor tour wasn't that great. The person was expecting a factory tour where you see the stuff made but it was really just a glorified sales pitch.

Sales pitch or not, I will still go. By that day, I will want off the ship for a couple of hours!

Don't forget (actually this is a "Note to Self") live chat at 7 pm eastern. I believe we will be password protected. If this is incorrect, we will find out at sign in!

Off to feed the dog his dinner and see what I can have.

Later, dudes!

BTW, I want to set up a picture opportunity .... how many of y'all are bringing the 6th Harry Potter book onboard for reading???[/QUOTE]

I thought it was released in June? I will have read it by mid-June. I just eat those books up! DD doesn't get a look in, it's all MINE!

My teenage experience with this was drinking what were called Blue Lagoons - which was based on the blue curacao liquor - this was manufactured by a company called Bols - now try the blue and the company name :teacher: :sad2: - and promise not to get offended - especially those of you in the frozen North! :guilty:

Allan :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Looks like I may be heading to Seattle and Victoria BC in April for three or four days - anybody close at hand?

Release date is July 16 or 17.

I'll be reading it right away, but DD has asked that I then pack it so she can read it on the ship.
