Um, Grumbo honey, there is NO HOCKEY!!!!!!!!

If there were: GO DUCKS GO!!!!!!

Uh... Oh yeah...
Reading the paper today and the Ducks aren't long for this world anyway. Disney are selling them, and lower than the league wants so good possibility the NHL will be just taking them back from Disney.
Too bad as they had a really good team a few years ago.

Cheers,
Grumbo

I know I am a day late and a dollar short---but I have to agree with Kmiles (BTW, me gustan los labios) about the Magic Kingdom/Disneyland controversy. I grew up in Ca. and went to Disneyland all the time. That being said--when I moved to FL--it took the longest time to NOT call MK--Disneyworld. My dad kept saying--DW is the whole area--Magic Kingdom is the park that reminds you of Disneyland. Basically---I never heard of "MK" till moving to FL. So Disneyland (in Ca) it will always be to me.....while here I finally got the whole MK/WDW thing down. Only took 14 years. (The princesses castles are in Disneyland--Ca/ and MK--FL). Like Charles Barkley would say--I may be wrong....but I doubt it!

GO EAGLES (PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I've checked the rates for a few. Do you have a preferred hotel? I looked at the Concourse, Comfort Suites and the Hampton Inn on property. I'll have to check the Entertainment card and AAA.

The Hilton Garden Inn is our favorite-however we stayed at the Comfort Suites last time cause it was cheaper with 4 of us in a suite. The Concourse is the closest to the airport but the rooms are very dark.

Very dark rooms. Hmmm, maybe that will help DD sleep! We wouldn't drive down until afternoon, early evening anyway.

I will look into Hilton garden Inn.

Thanks for all your help so far.

Looks like the Hilton Garden Inn is way out. The best price right now is the Comfort Suites followed by the Concourse.

We will be more than happy to wave at Mansfield as we drive past!

Dan: Thanks for all you help. I just booked our flights with Delta and we will be flying back from MCO with you!

It is looking like the Comfort Suites is going to get our business. I will book that another day.

Dan, I just sent you a PM regarding the pins. I want to say thank you to everyone (and a special thanks to John and Susan) for putting so much time and effort into designing something special for this group.

And my two cents regarding both the Westbound and Eastbound designs: I think they're both great! and I'm ordering both pins!! ::yes::

See you all soon! -Sarah

Yippee! I booked our airline tickets to LA today! Makes it feel more real (pinch me).

We are on American one way from Chicago arriving Thursday afternoon ~12:45pm. Our ticket were $89.20 each including all taxes/fees/surcharges. The price was just too low to pass up.

Sorry, I have to beg to differ!

Disneyland has never officially been called "The Magic Kingdom." Since it opened it's name has been Disneyland. There's only one Magic Kingdom and it isn't anywhere near CA. ;)

Of course that isn't to say that Disneyland isn't magical! :teeth:

I googled Disneyland and Kingdom--got this from the first entry, 2nd paragraph

"His first creation utilised his unique imagination creating a series of areas which included rides, Shows and attractions based around a given theme. At a cost of over one million dollars and taking one year to construct "Disneyland's" Magic Kingdom opened its gates in 1955 in Anaheim, California and fast became the most popular tourist attraction in America."
:cheer2:

QUOTE=Az Pirates]"Bit by bit, Disneyland got ready for Opening Day. The staff worked around the clock to get ready. The Mark Twain was being moved, deck by deck, down the Santa Ana freeway to get to Disneyland on time. Finally, everything seemed to come together. The "magical little park" was really a $17,000,000 "Magic Kingdom." Walt's dream had come true and Disneyland was ready to open."

Opening day, was a day to remember. Six thousand invitations to the Grand Opening had been mailed. By mid-afternoon over 28,000 ticket holders were storming the Magic Kingdom. Most of the tickets were counterfeit.

Walt Disney was 53 when he dedicated Disneyland Park. It was a memorable ceremony. There in Town Square, Walt could look around and see the fulfillment of his hopes, dreams, and ambitions in the form of a spectacular entertainment kingdom."

Found the above at Justdisney.com

"At a cost of over one million dollars and taking one year to construct "Disneyland's" Magic Kingdom opened its gates in 1955 in Anaheim, California and fast became the most popular tourist attraction in America."

This one was at the Disneyland Paris guidebook of all places.
www.dlp-guidebook.de/lands.htm[/QUOTE]

"For fun I went to my bookcase and pulled out my collector book published in 1979 "Disneyland The First Quarter Century" Right on the first page it starts out:

"What is Disneyland? For a quarter of a century, millions of people from every nation have visited Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom to find out for themselves. But Disneyland offers no definitive answer, because no two people leave the Magic Kingdom with exactly the same memories, experiences or impressions."

Almost forgot I had this book, very interesting with a lot of photos of the orange groves that once lived where now is the Magic Kingdom. Some of the pictures are a hoot, as I remember going on the air cushioned flying saucers, which are no longer "

kmiles we feel this is enough to go with the Kingdom to Kingdom
Walt would have liked it... :wave2:

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS......OF THE WORLD !!!!!!    :cheer2: :cheer2:

Go Peter/Jenn!

I grew up in California, and would like to remind you dissenting east coasters that DL was the model for MK in Florida, from the layout of the park to the attractions they chose to reproduce. The castle is the main focus for both parks, and the symbol for both, therefore, "Kingdom to Kingdom" is completely appropriate--it works for me! :earboy2:

I also found myself using WDW and MK interchangeably on my first visit, but I was over that by the second time around!

Love both pins!

Well, I wouldn't suggest that you change the pin either way. I still don't think that Disneyland was ever referred to officially as the Magic Kingdom. Even the original plaque in Disneyland says "Disneyland."

It was never referred to as "The Magic Kingdom." It was Disneyland.

Just my take on it! :)

Melinda, your PM box is full! So I'll ask here--when you rented your van from Port Canaveral, who did you go with? Is there an extra charge for dropping off at MCO? DH is finally considering doing DD instead of a day room when we return. (Yea!)
