HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!

I'm just taking a break from our "Shogetsu" (Japanese New Year's) preparations. We have 12 people coming to our house tomorrow to celebrate the new year with us. Naturally, we have to do it with food, food, and more food! :D There are numerous traditional dishes that we're making today (shrimp, octopus, squid, barbequed pork, pickles, "lucky" red rice, teriyaki salmon and chicken) and others that have to be made tomorrow (sushi, chow mein, tempura).

Lara is determined to stay up until midnight with us, so I'll finish today's preparations by 8:00, so we can have a nice dinner together (lobster tails  ) and then watch one of her new movies (probably Princess Diaries 2).

I want to wish everyone good health, happiness, and the opportunity to create wonderful memories with family and friends in the coming year. :grouphug:

Arlene (and Martin and Lara)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

HOPE YOU ARE HAVING AS GREAT A TIME AS WE ARE!

Scratch & DD

Scratch, I doubt we are having as much fun as you being down at WDW and all ! Tell us all about the festivites. I can't wait to hear. Happy New Year !

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The kids begged to be able to stay up until midnight, and we said ok. We have a bottle of sparkling cider chilling for them so they can toast the new year with us. We'll watch the ball drop and then probably play a rousing game of Scene-It to keep them awake for the next two hours! :teeth:

Just out of curiosity, I would love to see the original prices for this cruise when it was first announced. Does anyone have them?? Thanks.....

I have Gty Cat 6, party of 4, 2 Adults, 2 children=$6805.00 not including transfers and insurance, plus $250 on board credit.

My parents are in Cat 11, on deck 5, 2 adults= $2900.00 no transfers and insurance, plus $100 on board credit.

Wow, really? We got our category 8, 2 adults, 2 children for $8000, about lunchtime the second day. All the category 6's were already gone by then. It had already gone up several hundred dollars since the night before. :sad2: Jen, how much are they charging now?

Cat 7, 3 adults, $5602.47. I booked during the first hour. When I checked the prices later that day the price had already risen by $1700 !!

jweiss, welcome to the group. If you get a chance, take a look at the list on the first page of this thread, and then email either Grumbo or me the info for your group, and we'll get you added.

Actually, I think Grumbo is away for the holiday week, so we are running a bit behind in updates.

Happy 2005 everyone!

We have a cat 6 party of 4, 2 adults, 2 children fo $7423.56. That is including insurance but no transfers. I booked it in the first 10 minutes they went on sale.

Reading the "how much did you pay" made me think of something. You might consider getting an ATandT Universal Mastercard. We got one a couple of months ago and every purchase (EVERY purchase) earns us 5% cash back. This deal lasts until May and then after that it is 1 or 2% on everything and 5% on only some things. My point is that for every $1000 you put on the card you get $50 cash. Multiply that by how much you will need to pay off your cruise and that is a decent amount of money. It's a great deal.

We have a Cat. 6 for 2 adults and a 2 year old for $5227.67. I then transferred to Costco and got it down to $4805.67. I got ours when they released them to book online so I think it was a couple of hours after they originally went on sale. I just couldn't get through on the phone.

Hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year's Eve/Day.

Reneé

Edited to add this does not include insurance or transfers.

I have a Cat 9 for 2 adults - 2 children for $4600. I got in within the first 15 minutes that booking opened. This does not include transfers or insurance.

Thanks so much for all your responses. All that was available when I got on on Thursday was Guar 11 or Guar 12. I took the 11, even though the CM advised me to take the 12(?). I have never cruised 11 or 12, but I really don't care, as long as we're on. I figure the cabin will be darker and better for the baby to nap!! I'm definitely paying more, but it wasn't as outrageous as I'd expected. Being a single parent I'm just happy to be able to swing this at all!!!

Ginny.....I'm also booked on the Cruisin Castaway cruise, but after this, I wonder if it'll be a total disappointment?? How about a diet challenge for next August. I need it!!!!!!~JENNIFER

Got your info Jen - thanks!

So here are the new numbers:

Total Headcount: 473
DISnames: 139
kids (<20): M-63; F-85; Unk-13; TDB-2
Staterooms: 162

For those of us who signed up on or around May 5th, we are just past the halfway point.
