Hey guys I'm not sure whom to blame, but I tried to find out if I could add my group staying at the Holiday Inn San Pedro onto the bus from Hojo's and they told me it was booked for Sunday the 21st, not Sat. the 20th!! This definately won't work for me, I'll be onboard by then!!

They also said one member of our party booked his group to be checking out on the 21st for a "repo" cruise!?!? Is there another repo cruise or has DCL changed our dates??

It turns out this member also booked his groups flights on the wrong day and now has to pay a service charge to rebook on the correct day!! Talk about poor planning!!

BTW Bob, Garbage pick-up day is Tuesday morning, your neighbor says to tell you to stop putting your garbage out on Wednesday morning!! ...Mark

Nope. Melinda and I are not ungainfully employed by JGE, and will be relaxing on her balcony sipping Bahama Mamas while you scrape the sea slime off the porthole, as you so graciously volunteered to do! Of course I read the important part of the post and skimmed over the fluff! Doesn't everybody?

Belated Happy New Year to all!

Been busy with the Holidays and work.... and can't believe we go in just 8 mos. though I have been trying to keep up with the reading on the thread.


Tipping- at $ 300 is in the budget for that plus extra for great service .... though I think unlimited internet service will be closer to $ 160. vs. the $ 180 someone posted. I figure they will double the 7 day rate (which last time I sailed was $ 79.00).

Our group has always tipped the head server and we have had 2 great ones (over 3 cruises). On our first cruise - one of our party got sick, and missed a dinner - the next night when he returned to the dining room - Roger our server asked him if he wanted to order - and he stated he wanted to wait to make sure his stomach was okay. He left to place our orders, Chip the head server appeared at our table and practically insisted on getting a small baby salad for him from the kitchen. On our other 2 cruises we had Nadeich (I know I am spelling her name wrong), and she remembered our group from the previous sailing a year before. Came by our table frequently and made sure everything was great.


We are one of the lucky ones - with a verandah -- though it's a GTY - no idea where we will end up - but would love to be able to switch views during the transit. When we booked the trip - we figured it was for the adventure and we would want to see it all from the room too!

Price wise- since we booked early - just over double what we paid for our last 7 day cruise that was in a Cat 7.

I am planning on putting extra money down towards the stateroom bill. Anybody else doing that -- I figure the total bill will be about $ 2000 (w/Shore trips, drinks, tips etc.).

One last question - what operating system do the computers in the internet center have ? XP pro or home edition ? Just wondering if you can VPN into a network or not.

Mark and all, I have been trying to keep this in the family...but obviously its time I go public with it!! My daughter Amanda (Gassmandy) is a wonderful girl, but has a problem keeping dates straight! Also, she is a compulsive liar! Those are hard words for me to say. Mark, you obviously got some bad info from her. The bus is definitely scheduled for Saturday, August 20. Some good news for you Mark, but not so good for your fellow HI guests. I was able to get the bus to make a stop at the HI, but unfortunately I only have room left for Mark's group. So Mark, be at the front of the hotel with your bags ready to go at 10am. Don't worry, we will pick you up!!

Back to Amanda... We had a problem with her the other day. My original plans were to fly to DL on Wednesday, August 17 and stay a few days before the cruise. I made reservations for Mary and me. I told Amanda my plans, and since she has been so indecisive about her plans, I told her to make her own reservations. She finally decided she wanted to travel with us, and made her ressies. Well, low and behold, she makes them for the wrong date...August 16. So I graciuosly offered to change mine to the 16th, including adding a day to my HoJo ressies, so we could get our schedules back in sync. In typical Amanda style, she is denying completely it was her fault...she blames me. Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if she sent you a PM with a completely bass-ackward explanation of what happened.

Knowing her, she would probably want you to use it as "ammo" against me! I would be shocked Mark if you did that and started siding with the Sisterhood. Obviously, singularly and as a group, they can't be trusted...especially when the truth is at stake!

OK reading your explanation of what occurred Bob it is all clear to me now.
What a great dad you are! I think you should be commended, nay, lauded, for your duty to family and especially Amanda!! To go through all of that to accomodate your daughter and grandchildren and then have it chucked back in your face. Sad....
Being a father is a hard enough job, without ungrateful children dissing you like this Bob.
Bob remember that the Sisterhood is merely held together by a tenuous thread.
I'm glad you are looking after your family's travel needs. I'm sure otherwise if Amanda or Mary were booking you'd have a pleasure cruise out of Panama City Florida for 3 hours in August and they'd be "Well it IS a Panama cruise!!!!"

I don't know which Bob you were referring to but you are talking about MY BOB!!! My DH is obsessive compulsive cleaning freak and takes out garbage all the time!! My neighbors do in fact, complains that Bob takes out the garbage too early before the garbage day!! In fact, we got a few calls from the township about it!! Wait til i tell him that YOU know all about it and didn't hear it from me!! That is so funny!!

Is there ANYONE out there who is going to be at late dining and wants to join their ressies? Apparently there is only going to be about 6 of us at late dining...

Help! What video on Curacao did I miss??? Martin and I have been to Curacao before (and learned then how to pronounce it ) but I'm sure it's changed alot since then. I'd love to try to find out if it's going to be on again!
