Just checking in.
Had a wonderful day in Mississauga and Toronto yesterday.
Enjoyed a magnificent turkey dinner that our hostess provided. Thanks :)

Also went and saw National Treasure in the evening. It is a GREAT family movie and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. If you have kids maybe 7 or above I think it would be great and if you don't have kids its a great couple of hours of fun and action.

Cheers,
Grumbo

New computer is up and running so fast. I really love this thing. The bad part is loading all my software. That seems to take forever. Lenny set the other one up in the basement and loves it. He sits on the couch and surfs. Looks like I may never see him.

Now I just have to catch up on the pages that I've missed.

Sinkhole swallows 4 lanes of road

DELTONA, Florida (AP) -- A sinkhole opened beneath a road in central Florida on Saturday, swallowing four lanes of pavement and forcing the evacuation of 20 homes.

Officials had been watching the hole since Monday after noticing collapsed asphalt on a street. Workers were pumping a cement mixture under the damaged road when the hole formed.

"All of the sudden, they started feeling rumblings in the ground," said Robert Rogers, deputy chief of the fire department in Deltona, about 25 miles southwest of Daytona Beach.

The ground opened up, destroying all four lanes. The hole grew to 50 feet deep and at least 150 feet wide.

"It has not stabilized yet, so I'm sure its going to get a lot bigger," Rogers said.

The sinkhole also threatened to take down a major power line and forced authorities to evacuate 20 homes near the electrical wires. Residents in all but three houses were expected to return Saturday night. A local senior, who would only identify himself as "Bob" was excited by the excitement in his area. He was revving up his Mustang Cobra and babbling about "jumping the canyon". His wife took him back into the house and told him "Come on Bob you can watch the Disney Cruise video if you're good.".

One house was in imminent danger of falling into the hole, Rogers said

Hey Marsha I don't write 'em. I just copied it ;)

Hopefully it is warm where you are. Windchill is supposed to go down to -37 C tonight. It is brutal and we are very susceptible to the snow squalls off of the lake. I was in Toronto yesterday and they don't have ANY snow on the ground. Unbelievable the difference a 45 minute drive makes in the weather.
Here is today's forecast http://weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/forecast/city_e.html?wcu

Cheers,

Sorta cold here in Florida-about 60F and going down to 30s tonight. We're having a nice day just sitting around. Mary made me some nice hot chocolate, and we watched the Disney Cruise Video!

Hey, did any of you hear about that big sinkhole in Deltona!! Wow!!!

Tampa is having a nice day as well. Although it's suppiosed to get pretty cold here!

Whoever would thought that Florida would have sinkholes?? I just thought it just doens't occur there...There are lots of Sinkholes in my area because of the Lime Rock beneath us.
Isn't Florida sea level?? Wonder what you are looking down the hole to?? The swamp?? The Atlantic Ocean? LOL!!!!

Hey, that's what it's like here in Denver, 59 degrees! It's a heat wave and we're enjoying wearing short sleeves and bare feet! Woohoo!

Have I missed anything important in the past 10 days?? I have been entertaining my MIL from Montana since Dec. 8th. She leaves the 28th.

If I change my Christmas Advent calendar to count down the days till she leaves as opposed to counting down till Christmas morning--do you think she or my husband will notice?

And isn't there some sort of saying about company that stays past a few days?? Three weeks of watching my husband act like a complete fool around his mommy starts to make you twitch................

Have I missed anything important in the past 10 days??

Other than your dad being talked out of doing his Evel Kneivel imitation in Deltona with his Cobra not too much ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Great job on the EAYOR ressies, Melinda ! This is going to be quite a group. The dining rooms will NEVER be the same after they meet us! Those poor waiters.....

Well, I finally booked my airline tickets today on American. We cashed in the majority of our frequent flyer miles to fly first class from BOS to SNA and then MCO to BOS. Nothing like first class for the sisterhood, right ladies? The only change in plans was the departure flight. We JUST couldn't get a decent time out of MCO on 9/3 so we HAD to stay overnight and fly out the next day.......oh, twist my arm for that one! Thus, we'll head over the WDW, plant ourselves in a 1 bedroom villa somewhere and start to do laundry. This has turned into an 18 day luxury vacation. I am absolutely thrilled.

I hope everyone else's evening is going as well as mine! Have a Merry Christmas week..

Sorry, but you're wrong. I will tell you some people though. My son is back row, on right (he had just had surgery on his face, a boomarang accident) next to him is Sandy and next to her is my daughter. My cousin Dave (the coaster freak) is sitting next, in the jump seat.

My customer just called and told me his customer was waiting in his shop when Sandy showed up with the order. Everything was perfect! Everyone's happy!! He placed another huge order with me due Tuesday, so I guess sleeps off tonight and tomorrow, oh well, back to work!! He also told me that he gave Sandy 2,000 cash towards his bill. NNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!! Sandy's loose in a mall that doesn't close till midnight with 2 grand in her pocket...Mark
