I really don't watch that much tv, and I have enough disrespect for the political process (and yes, some of our elected officials) that I turn off the tv whenever they are on. Therefore I can't comment on Bush's speech impediment. I do know that when he first got elected I was embarrassed to hear him talk; I sincerely hope that the world doesn't think we all sound like that. In his defense, the man is from Texas (once again, I've offended a state. I apologize to Katholyn and all of the Texans. I went to school there for 8 yrs, so at least I'm not insulting them based solely on their reputation for being . . . umm, I'll say they're "different.") However, I must correct you on your innuendo about Oregonians. Most of Oregon is actually conservative. When you think of OR, you're actually thinking of Portland, for the most part. Since Portland has a great deal of the population, it controls most of the state's politics. I lived in Eastern Oregon for 7 yrs. and it is a conservative, poor farming area. We laughed at the last election because during the fray afterwards, the Bush campaign was supposedly getting ready to request the records of our local election; the joke is that there were about 20 people out of about 4 or 5 thousand that would have voted for Gore. Like I said, the man is a Texan.
One of the first things I thought when I woke after election day was that I could look forward to your removing your election propaganda now. You can imagine my shock and horror when I saw what you had put on instead. I'm trying to escape the politics and I got ambushed on my beloved DIS. It is much better now that it's smaller. I actually don't begrudge anyone their right to their politics (see, I am an Oregonian!), but I am truly sick of it. I come here for mindless stuff (and how I've found it! LOL )Actually, I went over to that web site that we're not allowed to mention here anymore, and I found the Kerry/Edwards stuff a bit overwhelming also.
So, I'll buy you that drink as long as you promise not to talk Texan to me.
And now that you mention it, considering all of the bizarre pictures that are posted here, W fits right in. (Except Renee's baby - I like our kids' pictures so keep them coming! We could try to re-establish some normalcy in this thread? Probably not but Disney is all about dreaming).
