August 2 2025, DVC member Cruise on the Dream!

I just confirmed that the additional savings during the upcoming DCL DVC Member cruise is only an additional $7 per point on top of the current incentives (you have to purchase during the cruise and before the last day).

So I agree with @HyperspaceMountainPilot that it won't move the needle. But it is nice that DVC is throwing something extra on top of existing incentives for those on the DVC Member cruise.
I can’t remember the specifics but I want to say last years’ pre-announced savings were a bit more generous? It doesn’t really matter to me because I don’t think there is a price I’d be buying VDH, RIV, CFW, or (more) AUL direct, but I would probably consider Poly at a price way below what Disney is willing to part with it at, because I have enough WDW points overall.

The only reason I remember it is because I remember thinking last year “I think there is a number of points at which the cruise basically pays for itself”— but at $7/pt (which appears to be capped anyway) you’d need to be buying about 1000 points to pay for an inside cabin, I think?

The email from DVC talked about special events on Sunday. So, we will be having breakfast in Royal Palace, seating soon after it opens. I use an ECV, so, we’ll be going in the side entrance, that’s the side that doesn’t have steps. We’ll probably sit in the atrium until the restaurant opens, but we’ll probably be seated close to the side entrance.

Hope to see some of you there. We should be finished in time to enjoy the fun they plan that day.

Is this a new email that I missed or the same one talking about 80s night?

It seemed to me that Sunday was going to have many special presentations, including a prime time concert. Usually they have the special concert on the last night. This makes me wonder if they will have a special preview of the Freaky Friday movie on our last night.

There was only one email that I have seen.

Of course, I actually have no real memory of what I wore in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s.

I won’t be bringing 80s clothes - my suitcase needs room for MC swag!
We are leaving tomorrow and you just reminded me that everybody says to bring an extra suitcase for the MC gifts!! You might have just saved me an expensive onboard suitcase!

My daughter and I will have low-key 80s attire, I purchased pink sparkly leg warmers as an accessory and they are pretty easy to cram in a corner of my suitcase.

Considering putting husband and son in star wars shirts... ESB and ROTJ were both released in the 80s.

You will get four of most things, one per person. Sometimes something special like a signed item it may be only one per cabin. I’ve noticed that on MCs, the gift shops tend to run out of all of their onboard luggage by mid-cruise, so if you think you might need an extra one, buy early! Collapsable duffles from home work great too, take up minumal space on the way there and can be filled up with clothes or something on the way home.

Safe travels!

Thank you, safe travels to everyone else as well!

After we get to port and have time to review the schedule, I’m hoping to post here with an alternative evening meet-up option for us late risers.

Could someone post the event schedule once you get it? They'll hand it out during embarkation. I ended up having to cancel earlier this year because we needed the PTO for a Hawaii trip. But I really enjoyed last year's MC and want to see what I'm missing out on!
At least we're getting the 80s/90s concert at D23 later in the month
