August 2 2025, DVC member Cruise on the Dream!

/
Update, about 2-2.25 hours after midnight, (checking every 10-15m) I was able to check in, got BG5. Having that low of a BG leads me to believe nobody else was able to get through either. Also, perhaps the ship will not be as pearl heavy as I assumed based on relatively limited activity booking times when my booking window first opened.

Saw this in the latest Disney Files magazine. It's the logo for the 2026 DVC Member Cruise. Has anyone seen a logo for the 2025 Member Cruise? Thanks!
No, I haven’t yet. Just checked the Disney online shop as last three MCs the t-shirts were available there on demand, and nothing comes up.

I do like that 2026 logo!

Given all the reports of varying combinations of old castaway club merchandise being given away on various DCL ships, I am wondering if Disney is trying to hold off importing its merch as long as it can while hoping tariffs go back down on goods imported from China?

I have no direct evidence, but starting to get a little concern it could impact member cruise goodies… I would be happy to take ancient stuff from the archives, just no more identical sling bags, please!

Don’t know how many openings or how long it will last, but as of 1028am today 1 July there is availability for the Stem to Stern wine tasting on Day 5 Castaway day at 4pm.

Our check in as gold went very smoothly. I was surprised we ended up in BG 20 and PAT of 1:30 but my wife reminded me that with the rooms being roped off till about 1:30 or so this will allow us to just jump on board later, go eat and then just go to our room without having to carry our carry ons around with us a usual for an hour or so. Been on the Dream before so no real need to board early and I think this will actually work out better for us...smjj

I do think BG 20 is high for Gold when checking in swiftly, but based on availability for on board activities when the platinum booking window opened I’ve suspected that the ship is weighted very heavily towards high level elites.

The margins on these goodies is so big that tariffs shouldn't matter much. Remember, tariffs are paid on wholesale prices... How much do you think Disney pays on a tote bad that they sell for $35-$40? I suspect it probably doesn't cost them more than $5. And if you add on a 30% tariff on that $5 wholesale value, it's now costing them $6.50... If they hike retail prices by just 5%, they more than make up the 30% tariff, and it seems most companies haven't even bothered to do that with the cheap (but overpriced to consumer) stuff.

Makes sense. The Castaway members’ stuff is free, but your point is still well taken, if the tariff is on wholesale cost, it’s a very low percentage of the price of sale for the majority of the things Disney sells.

I'm gold and completed online check in as soon as the window opened and got BG 8 and PAT 12:00. Just went back in and it still shows PATs as early as 12:30.
