Less than three weeks to go! I told my husband, at 5:30 last night, that three weeks from that moment we'd be sailing along. I have my FE done, gifts done and packing list done. DH thinks I'm a little crazy...but I'm ready for vacation!
We're going to tie dye some mickey shirts tonight. Then, I think I have everything done - except pack and go to port.

Thanks...for the very first FE ever, i think it turned out pretty good. We went to the store today and got some pirate stuff to decorate our own shirts and they had a beware sign for 50cents..got it it has pirates on it....it was actualy dhs idea which i was surprised but this way you will know which room is ours. I also got an ide for FE's for the children, so we will see how that goes nothing elaborate by any means... hope everyone is having a great day~~~ LESS than three weeks now!!

A pop up laundry hamper or laundry bag can be very helpful for your dirty clothes. Then you just dump the bag in the suitcase to take home and put in the laundry room. I always pack a fan for white noise and to drown out the hall noises, especially this trip with us being so close to the mid-ship elevators. Also, a nightlight for the bathroom can be helpful for the little ones to find their way in the middle of the night, especially in an inside cabin.

Are you planning on doing the signed pillow case or picture frame? You can drop one off at guest services at the beginning of the cruise and it'll be returned signed by the main characters at the end. It's a very cool keepsake. I bought pillow cases embroidered with the girls favorite characters (from Ebay) for previous cruises. I think I may do the picture frame for this cruise.

I heard briefly about the pillow cases, so you just get a pillow case and give it guest services and they do all the work?? what about the picture frame? how does that work? any kind of picture frame? as long as it can be signed obviously~~? thats so awesome how disney does stuff extra like this....I am just so excited, i just wish it was more than 4 days long... thanks for the suggestions... appreciate it!!!

I saw on the boards there were envelopes for mousekeeping..that is just for the people who clean our staterooms correct? do you tip them at the end of the cruise or every day?? is there any templates for envelopes for the waiter etc? same thing, do we tip everyone at the end of the cruise? THANKS!!

since i spend all my spare time on the boards i found the envelopes for general tiping...i also found some templates of paper dolls that my dd (6) is in love with Just an idea if you have DD who may need a activity on the plane and or car/ we are driving from VA to FL so we are buying little gadget here and there and putting them in a bag for her so she can have things to do, so the paper dolls are goign in there too, im thinking of using some of the magnets to make the paper dolls easier to dress etc. We also just made a journal for our DD with all the journal pages on that site, we picked the ones that we will use and put them in a one inch binder on cardstock and then she has a book that she can make each day on the cruise of what she did, it will make a wonderful back to school show and tell item...pretty excited!!

Disney usually gives you envelopes with the title of the person the tip is supposed to go to. They also tell you how much is recommended. You pay at the end of the cruise, though I think you can pay up front through guest services.

I love your paper doll ideas. My girls don't know we're going on the cruise. So I can't give them anything that will tip them off. Though I may pretend we're going to have a long drive when we only live 3 hours from the port. We're in Florida.

You may also want to get or make an autograph book. My boys love getting the character signatures, and when we get home I put their picture with the character on the opposite side. I will also be leaving the pillow case with guest services. Under the DCL forums there is an excellent packing list. It gives tips from packing and tips for on the ship. I'm not sure how to find it, you can search the forum or I can email you it as an attachment. Also I found some nice envelopes, pics for magnets, and other things under the main DIS home page, Creative DISigns. They have great ideas.

FYI to those doing the FE
I think i am goign to cable tie the little bags i have to your FE..i will have a pair of nailclippers in one of the adults bags for you to get them down that way someone wont be tempted to just walk away with them, there nothing that spectacular but still dont want them to SWIM away, but wanted you to knwo that theres a pair of nail clippers in the adult bag so you wont be cussing me out under your breath when you can not get them down lol

And we would be once we saw those tie wraps. I need to get working on mine, but I have to do it when the kids aren't around. As far as I know, they still have no clue.

This will be our fifth Disney cruise. We were supposed to do a 7 day for Thanksgiving this year, but cancelled because it was way too expensive. When we had to cancel a Grand Villa at Bay Lake because one group of friends weren't sure they could make it, we put those points toward this cruise instead. We also have a back to back on the Dream set for next Spring Break. Both cruises happen to be right after each DD's birthday so it's a double celebration.

Dumb question but is a back to back when you literally cruise then get off board and then get back on another cruise? amazing.....

That's what it is. We've never done one but are really looking forward to it. It gives us 2 Castaway Cay stops, 2 pirate nights, and many more chances to eat at Palo's and the new adult restaurant on the Dream.

Did everyone get my PM with the current count for the FE? If anyone else wants to get involved, just PM me your room number, names, and ages of kids.

LOL! It was planned. Though originally we were on the 5th floor before DVC gave us both upgrades.
