~Aug 2013~ Sew what~We've gotta find a way back-Part II- TR link posted - 8/31

Love your bag, D.

Yes, you can basically get anything to go and take back to your room. We did that in France (an eclair) and at the Boardwalk Bakery.

I was kind of skimming the bag pictures and had to pause at one. I thought - "Why is D~ posting a picture of just a zipper?" Then I realized that is was the bandana fabric close up. It's funny if you're me.

The bag is fabulous! As always - and extra special because it's for YOU! So when people stop you and ask, "Where'd you get that great Jesse Bag?" you get to bask in the moment when you say, "I made that!" And then maybe make a sale. ;)

On a somber note, because it's been addressed here, my BIL passed away this morning. He'd slipped into a coma this weekend so we were very aware the end was close. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

On a less somber note: my mom has successfully been transplanted to rehabilitation for her broken knee and sings the praises of the place because A) she likes the food (hated with a passion the hospital food) and B) They Have HOT TEA!!! She's kind of cold-natured and is allergic to coffee so drinks Hot Tea instead. Needless to say the hospital's lack of hot tea did not sit well.

Good luck on the rest of the week & I'm still waiting to see those suitcases with actual clothes in them. :)

I just love the Jessy/bullet bag so cute. I grew up in Vegas so have always loved things with a western theme......so cute

Just popped in here to check on your progress and found not just the Mickey bag but the Monsters AND Jessie bags, too! Wow, you've been sewing like crazy!! And I will echo what everyone else has said and tell you that I think they are all UH-MAY-ZING! I have to say that the Monsters one is my favorite, though, because of Roz hiding under that flap. I love her and can just hear her saying, "I'm watching you, Wyzowski....always watching"! Hope you have a wonderful trip with your girls.

Yeah I was able to sleep last night but then ended up napping today. :rotfl2: What was I thinking!!

Love the new Jessie/Bullseye bag!! Turned out really cute!!

Sitting here with my coffee. Love the TS bag. I've always liked the red bandana print. It's good that you were finally able to create your own bag. Funny that you have been waiting over a year for it. You should put yourself and the girls on your list for next time so you are sure to get your own for the next trip.

Did I miss any more clues on this?

I just can't keep up with all of you there is so much going on. I think we may qualify for the free dining that just came out and I am overjoyed. Just means I'll spend more on F&W but will seriously help to cover some of those extras. Hope you have a great day!

Yeah I am so happy you finished your bag.

Yay!!! Me too!

GOOD MORNING!

YAY for the bag being done!!!! it is the greatest feeling ever to finally get the ever popular Serendipi D~ pixi dust!!!
Your art is amazing!

I just love your hat by the way!!! MUCH better then the i spy water bottle fanny pack...

Hahaha... I'll have you know that water bottle was a fashion statement.

Love it! Jessie is my oldest dd's favorite character. She will want me to make her one like it!

Can't wait to see what your 2nd bag looks like!

Yah - I am super excited to have it all done...

Me too... I am knee deep into it already. :woohoo:

: Love, love, love the Jessie and Bullseye bag! You will have so much fun carrying it at WDW. I couldn't tell you the number of wonderful comments I got about my Pluto bags.

Looks like FD will be out tomorrow! I will be on the phone bright and early with Disney. From what I've been reading it seems like there may be only Royal Rooms left at POR. I'm probably going to go for it since that is where DH requested we stay and it will still cost less that what I was going to pay at POP without FD. Do you think he'll notice all of the princess stuff in the room?

Thank you!!! I can't wait to carry it myself!

Yay!!! I hope you got FD! That would be soooo awesome!!! I doubt DH will notice the princess stuff at all.

Love the Jesse bag! I'm so glad you got it finished and can move on to the next project. You have waited so long for this cute little bag, now you won't have to wait much longer to put it in use. And I guarantee it will get lots of attention...as will ALL the bags you girls will be carrying. Adding the new head gear it will be Epic!!

Yah - I am more excited than I thought I would be to have one of my own bags... I really want to take it for a test run - but I am afraid I will get it all dirty before our trip - so I am trying to refrain. LOL

I love you trip bag. The Toy Story movies are among my favorites. My day was bring, too. We're getting ready for our semi annual inseption from Fugi, so I cleaned all day. I wish my house looked as good as the photo lab does, now. Today I get to take my mom grocery shopping.
Liz

Hi Liz - I love Toy Story - no doubt about that... Just a huge Pixar fan in general. I hope your inspection and grocery shopping go well.

Your Jessie and Bullseye bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously cute!

Yes, you should be able to get napoleons to go. I always get a schoolbread to go so that I can eat is for breakfast the next morning with a hot cup of coffee.

Thanks Oopsi!!! Oooh - that does sound delicious!!! I have yet to try schoolbread - however the Frumps say it's marvelous - so it is on my list... However - I am not sure I could eat it for breakfast, considering the competition is beignets... :confused3

Good to know!

Ok. You know I love the bag. But I want to tell you how much I love those pictures of you guys eating the napoleons. I don't know why...I don't even like those darn things very much, but that picture of the 3 of you.....it just made this whole thing real to me! I can't wait...this trip is going to be great! It really is the little things I love about Disney.
*sigh* is it time to go yet??

Yah... I agree - I just can't wait to "be" there... Ya know... It will be wonderful no matter what.

Love, love, love the bag. It is impossible to have a favorite. Each time you show one, I think, "Now that is my favorite." Then you do another one and I change my mind. Jessie is Marissa's most favorite character. We still have the Jessie doll. I am already on her worst mother of the year list due to the lack of sewing skills. If I show her the Jessie one, I am not sure what she would do. Although, there isn't much room to go after worst.

Hahaha... I seem to get myself on that list, at least, three times a week... LOL - and sometimes it's because of my sewing skills... We can't win. :rolleyes1

WOW AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! I love them, I agree, each one you do I love a little more than the last..........till I go back and look at them

No way I'd ever be able to pick a favorite!

Hahaha... Thanks!!! I am very happy with how it turned out. And I am super excited to be able to carry one of my bags in the parks.

Love your bag, D.

Yes, you can basically get anything to go and take back to your room. We did that in France (an eclair) and at the Boardwalk Bakery.

Awesome Kathy!!! I knew that someone would know... Now... The BIG question... Can I have them sent to my room like other merchandise? LOL That would be magnificant - because then I wouldn't have to worry about sitting on it during transport. :rolleyes1 I doubt it - but it's worth a shot. LOL

I was kind of skimming the bag pictures and had to pause at one. I thought - "Why is D~ posting a picture of just a zipper?" Then I realized that is was the bandana fabric close up. It's funny if you're me.

Thank you Ruth!

Oh no! I saw this on Facebook this morning and I commented... I am so very sorry for your loss... Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time. :grouphug:

I am happy to hear that your mom is liking the rehabilitation facility... Good food and (I imagine) hot tea are very helpful... Please keep us updated on her progress.

Hahahaha... I am getting there - No fear, I will post them when I finally get packed... It's really hard for us to pack right now though - because we are still wearing a lot of the clothes we need to pack. :thumbsup2

I just love the Jessy/bullet bag so cute. I grew up in Vegas so have always loved things with a western theme......so cute

Thank you!!! I am so very excited about it!

Aww... It's great to see you - thank you so much!!! Yah - I wish I could have put the whole saying under the flap... DD was telling me her fears last night, because she will have to have the flap up for bag check... She is worried that Disney security will wonder... Hahaha... She may have to go through a more thorough bag inspection than the rest of us. popcorn::

Yeah I was able to sleep last night but then ended up napping today. What was I thinking!!

Love the new Jessie/Bullseye bag!! Turned out really cute!!

Figures... I managed to sneak in a little cat nap yesterday too... It was so nice. Thanks for the compliments.

Sitting here with my coffee. Love the TS bag. I've always liked the red bandana print. It's good that you were finally able to create your own bag. Funny that you have been waiting over a year for it. You should put yourself and the girls on your list for next time so you are sure to get your own for the next trip.

That's the problem... LOL - is I don't even have the room on my list to squeeze us in... It's pretty sad actually. If it wasn't for a few of my previously scheduled August people that were willing to move their custom order date ahead to earlier in the year - I wouldn't have any time at all for our stuff... It's so crazy sometimes, but I am really anal about my schedule and staying on top of it. I am looking forward to after the trip - when I just have my custom orders and my monthly auctions to do... But then - I will have to go straight into Christmas gift making... So it will be nuts again shortly. :confused3

Did I miss any more clues on this?

I just can't keep up with all of you there is so much going on. I think we may qualify for the free dining that just came out and I am overjoyed. Just means I'll spend more on F&W but will seriously help to cover some of those extras. Hope you have a great day!

Not sure what the clues were in response to?

Yay!!! I sure hope you get FD... That would be magnificant!!!

**********************************************************

Again... I drove all the way into work yesterday, only to find out I work today... Grrr... I even wrote down my schedule this time - so I was sure to get it right... But I washed it when I washed my work pants last weekend... :rolleyes1

So, I came home and got started on my 2nd park bag... Right now I am knee deep into it, and happy with my progress. If the family lets me work this weekend - I will have it done by Sunday... Maybe even Saturday - then I could take all of Sunday off.... THat would be wonderful.

I was able to get my bag cut out and quilted... Then after dinner - Josh watched a movie that I had no interest in... So, I went back upstairs... I was able to get the entire interior of my bag assembled and the strap done... So, again, all I am left with is the applique and the exterior assembly. :woohoo: Now, if I could just decide on an applique... :rolleyes1

**********************************************************

Let's dig up some photos for you all....

Yup - it's another series... With a story...

So there we were, standing in line to meet Dopey and Snow White... the line was long, and it was pretty hot - but we were in the shade. At some point - Dopey and Snow White took a break - so we waited, and waited, and waited... Then when they came back out - they kind of had to walk along side the line to get to their spot... and on their way by - Dopey took a liking to V, decided to sign our bags - then he ran off with her mask... he was teasing her with it and playing with it - it was just so cute! Poor Snow was trying to wrangle him up to the M&G, and Dopey didn't wnat anything to do with it. LOL

I have to show you this pic first - because I like it. LOL

OK - story pics:

And then... Unknown to me at the time... I guess Josh has a crush on Snow White???? I didn't know this until after we were home - but I don't think I have ever seen such a big smile on his face... :rotfl2:

image553.jpg

I hope you all have a wonderful day today... Sending out Pixie Dust to all in need. :grouphug:

D~

Sorry about the wasted trip to work...LOL...sounds like something I would do.

I know I tell you this all the time. But I wanted to make sure you knew how much I admire you and your sewing skills!

I have been a seamstress almost my entire life (and THAT is a L O N G time!), I have been a quilter for over 36 years, and a machine embroiderer for at least 4 years. With all that experience under my belt I can only wish I could sew as well as you. The fact that you post up close pictures of the stitch detail in ev even you zippers...ah mazing!

Not a stitch out of place...everything straight and true. Being the recipient of one of your bags and one of your AG dresses, I can attest to the fact that pictures don't begin to do them justice.

It is like saying that Everest is a mountain, or that Mickey is a mouse. While it is true, and gives you an idea of what is trying to be said...it does not come close when you see them in real life (not that I have seen Everest in real life).

I am so proud to say that I know you and count you as a friend.

Such cute pictures with Dopey and Snow White!

Bummer you went to work and didn't need to be there! Sounds like something I would do. ::yes:: I've got a "Notes" app on my I phone and I've started to put things in there so I don't forget. Right now I have one that says "Butter pretzels". I'm pretty sure that was my grocery list while Jim was out of town. :rotfl:

So I called Disney right at 7 am today. I expected to be on hold forever but got through without even being on hold for 30 seconds! Even with calling that early, POR had zero availability for the week we are going. :( My second choice was POFQ because I've never stayed there but it wasn't even included in the offer. So I ended up at CSR. I stayed there in 2011 and really liked it so I think it will be fine! All that was available there was water view or king bed so I got us a nice big king bed for the week! Ended up saving a grand total of $5. :rotfl2: But at least we will be in a moderate resort rather than POP.

There are a ton of people not liking the non availability of rooms with this discount/Free dining offer. However, if I were brave enough to plan a trip to be there ON Christmas...it would be good....

Yeah, I was a little annoyed with the fact that there was no availability since I called so early. Thank goodness I didn't wait till lunch to call like I was originally going to do! Why do an offer if there are not going to be rooms available?

Yeah, I was a little annoyed with the fact that there was no availability since I called so early. Thank goodness I didn't wait till lunch to call like I was originally going to do! Why do an offer if there are not going to be rooms available?

The way it was explained to me ...Disney chooses to do a special sale to get rid of inventory. They decide they want to offer x% of outstanding rooms at this 'sale'. The sale leaks, and people book tons of rooms thinking they can just add the 'sale' to their current room. While on the surface it appears they could do this, but when the amount of unsold rooms gets too small Disney cuts off that resort. So, everyone involved in the buying frenzy this leak caused, made the availability go down. And, Disney cut off resorts.

In the past, they have added more rooms to the sale. I would wait a week or so and call back. There will be a lot of people cancelling their reservations in a few days because their resort or room choice wasn't available on the sale. These rooms go back into the pool. Once there is enough rooms in the pool, Disney will release them to the sale.

OK...so maybe I didn't explain that as well as I thought I was going to.... but don't give up hope. In the past, I have called once a week right up to the end of the sale.....Surprises do happen!

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely have to call again in a week or so. I am actually fine with CSR but DH is the one that picked POR. We stayed there for our Honeymoon 15 years ago and he loved it. Still talks about how great the food court was. :rotfl:

I have to agree with EVERYTHING Nini said here. I too have been sewing forever - making clothing, quilts, costumes, etc. and your talent amazes me.

I really wish Dopey would come out more (or one of the Dwarfs) with Snow White.

Cute pictures and looks like all were having a good time.

Hate a wasted travel day when you didn't even have to work. Need to check those pockets more carefully before doing the laundry. ;)

D. So sorry you had to drive to work yesterday and not be on. I don't get why the don't text or email the schedule. Doesn't make sense.

Have a good day and I hope it goes by quickly.

I am excited to see your next bag.

Love that 1st pic you posted. The girls look so so happy! Love the family one also. And all the ones with Dopey. That is so awesome he wanted to play with your fam.

Love the expression you caught in Bullseyes face.

Sorry to hear about your BIL, my prayers are with you and your family. I'm happy to hear your mom is at the rehab facility and is more comfortable there. Yeah for HOT TEA.

Bummer that you went all the way to work. I am not good about checking pockets because I NEVER put things in my pockets until the one time I do and it goes thru the wash. Didn't someone suggest you take a picture of the schedule with your cell phone? I thought that was a good idea but I have no idea what your schedule looks like. The fact that they can not e-mail out a final version is beyond me but....

So there we were, standing in line to meet Dopey and Snow White... the line was long, and it was pretty hot - but we were in the shade. Great pictures and a fun story too. I love seeing the faces of everyone else in line laughing and enjoying Dopey's antics. This is a great family photo too. Maybe you can use that love of Snow White to talk Josh into a trip to DW someday.

I know I tell you this all the time. But I wanted to make sure you knew how much I admire you and your sewing skills!

What she said.

Funny story about D~'s bag: last summer during the meet in Charlotte, Beth and I were headed to meet everyone at the mall and we stopped in the Coach store. Beth was wearing her awesome Beauty and the Beast bag and she didn't get two feet into the store before the girl working in the store was complimenting her and asking her about the bag. Some of the other customers joined in and complimented Beth on her bag too. I thought it was a great compliment to D~'s skills when the employee of a store that sells high end purses stops to oohhh and ahhhh over a D~ original. :flower3:

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

You'd think a chain as big as Target would encourage (or better yet, supply) their stores with an employee website and post schedules. I'm concerned that one day you'll be a day late, rather than a day early.

Good Sewing - and soon you'll have 2 of your own bags!

Sitting here with my coffee. Love the TS bag. I've always liked the red bandana print. It's good that you were finally able to create your own bag. Funny that you have been waiting over a year for it. You should put yourself and the girls on your list for next time so you are sure to get your own for the next trip.

What I meant was clues to your next trip after August? Have a good night!
