I love the Duck butt bag! It looks like the perfect size for me. I like a bit larger bag, so I can put my camera in it.

What a great bag! Enjoy your trip, make memories and come home refreshed and ready to create more of your amazing bags!

I really love this bag style. However, please don't use the words Donald and scissors in the same sentence, it scares me :/

Such a cute bag and the fact that there was no prototype bag...Aaaaaamazing!!!!

Managed to pop in for a min and what did I see.....that's quack a bag......lol LOVE IT just too cute!
Took the girls to the park yesterday
Evie

Sweetpea) Have a great vacation, going to water park tomorrow and ren faire sun.

I am so behind. Sorry, busy on this end too.

This bag is cute too.

Those tanks with the appliques on the bottoms are a good idea. I paint designs on tshirts sometimes, but hey end up too hot with the paint. Putting it on the bottom would alleviate that issue. Something fo rme to think about. Thanks for the food for thought.

See you real soon...

Wow, another duck butt bag. Very cool.

3 days. So much to do. But then you'll be in Disney and you can relax! :rotfl2:

Another great bag!!!

Good luck getting everything done over the next couple days!!

I will be stalking for pictures of your new creation. Good thing I set up the old Mac in the basement

I need to make hair appointments for C and I before our trip thanks for the reminder

Always happy to help out. :rotfl2:

Love that picture of the girls. You have so many great candid shots too.

Good luck getting your bag done today. No more ripping things out. LOL.
I think you can

Thanks!!! I wound up being very friendly with my seam ripper yesterday morning... I don't normally use it very often, but I continued to make stupid mistakes sewing things that I normally sew - in other words, it had nothing to do with the new pattern. :confused3 I am just happy/relieved to have it done!

i can't wait to see the stuff finished!

OMG 3 days!!!!!!!

Kathy leaves today and Suzi Tomorrow!!! ugh i want to go...

adn then Dee leaves too!!!

I am sorry we are all leaving you... You know I will check in on my trip and I will text you lots. :grouphug:

I am doing a quick drive by in case I don't get on this weekend to wish you a wonderful, magical trip.

I am soooooo far behind right now thanks to work but hopefully will have some time while you are gone to catch up and see all of your goodies.

Hi Ariana!!! Thank you! I hope work slows down a bit for you soon, so you have time to Dis a little more.

I know I would if you lived closer to me. Last week, I got a flyer in the mail about classes through our community agricultural extension center. One was beginning sewing. Only cost $5 material fee for four weeks. I immediately went online to sign up, and the class was already booked. Maybe early 2014. I do have a lot on my plate already.

I know you can, I know you can, I know you can.

Thanks! That sounds like an awesome class! I have always thought about taking a class, but then I seem to do better just fumbling through it myself, so I never got around to it. I hope you are able to find a class that fits your budget and schedule.

I did sewing lessons once...started at $25 an hour... ended up at $15 an hour. Was supposed to be a basic class...ended up being a custom dress for her daughter.

Also did one that I still have the half finished project in my studio. She decided she didn't want to pay until the project was finished and she never came back...

Doing this would mean having clear cut rules in place...what they supply, what you supply, what will be taught...what will be made...and WHEN the payment will be made!

Nini

PS...not to say they all were bad experiences for me...several became good friends. Just no one wants to pay for the lessons. If they go to Joanne's to get the same lesson it is much more and larger class size.

Oh Nini... I fear if it's to happen to anyone, it would be you... :flower3: I can't believe that person walked out with out paying you - that is horrible!

So awesome. That Donald is too perfect to be under the flap.

Absolutely love it and so happy you will have a duck butt bag to carry around the parks. Plus everyone won't be pointing at you from the back now, they will be pointing at your front!

Thanks Liz!!! I love putting surprises on my bags though... So when I am walking around and just when you think you see a fun bag - BAM!!! I lift Donald's collar and BAM!!! There he is. LOL :beach:

What a great Donald bag you have made
Only 3 days left until you leave. The trip is finally here for you I wish I was going.

Thanks Lillian! I hope you make it back for another trip soon!

I love the Duck butt bag! It looks like the perfect size for me. I like a bit larger bag, so I can put my camera in it.

Thanks! Yes - it is a bit larger than my UPB... The top is roughly an inch wider, and further down - it's a few inches wider... Not to mention there is a gusset panel on this bag - so it's depth (front to back) is wider too. But it's not sooo huge that it's overwhelming. I still have not decided if I am going to add it to my order catalog though?

What a great bag! Enjoy your trip, make memories and come home refreshed and ready to create more of your amazing bags!

Thanks Di!!! We are very excited!

I LOVE it!! Very cute!

Thank you Ruth! I hope you are doing well!

LOVE it!!! I hope y'all have the best time!

~Jennifer

Thanks Jennifer! It's great to see you!

Dee

No worries Dee... I know that things at your house are just as crazy as they are here!

Yah - I am really lovin' the tanks with the appliques at the bottom... They are so much fun!

Wow, another duck butt bag. Very cool.

3 days. So much to do. But then you'll be in Disney and you can relax!

LOL - Yah - I love my backpack, but I just couldn't carry it in the heat. And I love the shape of this one much better than my backpack.

Relax in Disney? LOL I will try. :rolleyes1

Another great bag!!!

Good luck getting everything done over the next couple days!!

Thanks Sandra! I hope you are starting to feel better.

**********************************************************

As you saw yesterday, I finished my last bag - WHOOT! I am so very happy with it! It looks way better on someone than off. LOL

Then V and I went to town... She wanted to get her hair trimmed... We had to go to the bank... Then to Target... Then to lunch (Jimmy Johns, of course)... Then to get pizza for dinner... Then to the nail salon to make our appointments for Sunday...

When I came home, I signed into the airlines and paid for all of our baggage fees... Thankfully it was cheaper than I remembered it being - so I have enough left over for another Disney GC. :woohoo:

Then I tried to fax my room request (which, I know, is just a request)... when I realized we don't have long distance on our home phone.... So one of my August Disney comrades was kind enough to fax my request in for me. One less thing left to do on my list.

Afterwards, I went over to the neighbor's and we had a couple of margaritas... NUMMY!

Then dinner, and a Disney movie... Lilo and Stitch last night...

Then bed.

My list over the next 3 days...

4 wallets... Up, Monster's Inc., Jiminy and Donald. No appliques, just quilted wallets... Easy peasy!

1 more hand applique to put on a tank top

Purchase a white hoodie to wear on the flight (which I plan on adding the 4 parks applique Chiara did for me)

Sew a few more of Chiara's appliques on to various tanks.

Maybe make Alli's bag insert.

Waiting on BFF's Target Pharmacy Rewards to arrive, so I can purchase the last of my GC's. If it doesn't arrive in today's mail - I will go to Target and purchase the last of them with out it, as I don't want to wait for her mail to come late on Monday afternoon and try to get to Target right before we leave... At this point - it is only a savings of about $10... I hate to miss out on that, but it's not as if I am purchasing a huge amount this time.

And I think that is everything? :crazy2:

Oh - I need to finish packing too... And do a few more loads of laundry.

I am just happy I finished all of the park bags - as you all know, I have been super stressed about that for a few months now, and I am rather shocked/surprised/relieved that I finished in time.

Sorry, no photos today...

But I did want to take a moment to wish my friend Kathy and great first day in the parks! And Suzi... (Who is on her flight to Disney as I type...) A wonderful flight and a great DISNEY DAY... I am right behind you girls!

Sending good thoughts and prayers up for all of my Dis friends today.

Regarding my bags/tank tops/head bling...

I've been sticking to 3 themes...

Jiminy

Toy Story

Donald

I am trying to figure out which character theme for which park...

Toy Story is definately DHS... But we only have 1 DHS day - and I have a few tank tops that coordinate with this bag...

Jiminy - I think should be MK... We have 2 MK days... So I think this will work well.

Donald... I think he would be great to wear in AK... For sure not the best option, but since I don't have one for AK - I think he will be just fine. And we will see him at Tusker House on both of our AK days.

So... That leaves Epcot... Should I do Toy Story there? We only have 1 Epcot day - and I don't feel like my Toy Story themed items are getting the love they deserve. But I really think Donald would be a better fit here... GAH!!!

We also have a DTD day (which we are doing Ohana for breakfast that morning)... A Water Park day... So, I probably won't do any themes that day - until the evening... And our arrival day - which we will go into MK - so I will have to make sure I pack this theme into my carry-on.

So, what do you all think??? What theme would you do in which park???

D~

I am not sure where you could fit more Toy Story in. I agree that DHS is best fit but I think MK would work too. Mainly because at DL woody and Jessie hang out in frontierland. I am not sure if they are at mk but mk does have buzz ride. Donald and J Cricket are classics so I say they can go anywhere.

What about DTD day? I think Toy Story would be good there.

Love all the latest creations!:yay: I was just thinking before I seen your last post "where will she wear what"? What a Fun dilemma:scratchin! I think you can't go wrong with any bag at any park:) and at DD. (we did see Jiminy at AK once)
I received my danglers from Beth for my Gingerbread House UPB & they all look adorable :cheer2: we moved our trip up to September from Christmas time, but I am still going to use it & make a trip over to the GF for a photo:cool1:. Hoping for a Bounceback offer to go back in Decemberpixiedust:
Wishing you safe travels & a magical trip for you girls! :grouphug:

Love all the customs!

In case I don't get on here in the next few days,

Have a MAGICAL trip!

I like the size of the duck butt bag!! So which fabric did you switch? I think that lining fabric is perfect, you always pick the best fabrics!

Your trip is almost here, I'm so excited for you:banana: We're going down for a few days in Sept. I'll start getting excited as soon as we get this school year up and running. Then I can breath a little easier. Right now I have about 720 kids to get scheduled before Monday :faint:

That's what I was thinking too... It's kind of confusing. LOL

This is a fabulous idea Dee - DTD is perfect for Toy Story... So that leaves me, at least, 2 days with each bag.. :thumbsup2

Hi Monica!!! That is true, which is kind of why I did it the way I did it. But I wish I would have had the time to make something more AK specific... Oh well, it will give me something to ponder for the next trip.

I received my danglers from Beth for my Gingerbread House UPB & they all look adorable

Awesome! Beth is such a sweetie!

we moved our trip up to September from Christmas time, but I am still going to use it & make a trip over to the GF for a photo: Hoping for a Bounceback offer to go back in December

Bummer about the new trip dates... but that would be awesome to get a good bounceback for another trip during the holidays.

Wishing you safe travels & a magical trip for you girls!

Thank you very much Monica!

Awww... Thanks Lynn! I hope you are well.

Haha... You all never miss anything I say. LOL OK - so the gusset on the side... Originally, I had it all blue - so when I put the bag together, there was a "break" in the bottom white portion on the part that simulates his "Butt"... So, I ripped the whole gusset out (I had the whole bag done), and replaced the bottom portion of the gusset with white - so it simulated a more realistic "butt" - LOL. I know - it's probably unwise to have white on the bottom of a bag... but I Scotch Guarded the crap out of it yesterday, and then I did it a second time - so hopefully that helps. :thumbsup2

Yikes!!! It's too bad you can't come now... I would love to meet you - but I believe I remember you telling me a long time ago that work is very crazy for you this time of year... I hope everything settles down for you soon. :thumbsup2

**********************************************************

Well, I worked in my sewing room yesterday...

I was able to finish a lot of odds n' ends projects...

The first project I finished was adding the hand appliques on to two more of my tank tops... I have to say that my favorite (of the ones I've done) is the Safari Donald... I think it turned out really awesome on the oatmeal colored tank.

20130817_162002.jpg

I may end up taking the Jiminy Mickey head (which is based off of a design by my friend Michelle) off of my other tank - I think it might just be too much on that? I might add it to another tank instead? I can't decide. What would you do? The tank it is on is sort of a dressy top, it's not a plain tank, and the fabric is very loose and flowy... :confused3

Then, once I finished that, I started the wallets. Originally, I wasn't going to put anything on them, they were just going to be plain ol' wallets... But Alli saw Chiara's Up applique, and wanted that on her wallet, so I stitched it on for her. Then, I tried to use my borrowed embroidery machine to put a Donald on my Donald wallet... Not sure that I love it - but I don't feel like changing it, so it will stay that way. LOL And finally V's wallet ended up plain - I feel badly about that, since we all have stuff on ours - but I just didn't have the time to try and applique something to put on there. :crazy2:

Once I was done with all of this... I looked out the patio door and I noticed that Josh was waist deep in his own project... Yes... 3 days before the girls and I leave on our trip, he decided to empty out our shed. Yes - this is just a shed, but remember, we still have not started the addition - so we do not have a garage... This little shed is F-U-L-L! Hence the reason he was cleaning it out... But seriously... NOW? On a day where I could not help him at all - and he knew that. Let's just say - he did not get it finished yesterday, so half of our shed contents are still laying all over my back yard in sorting piles - AND, to top it off... He was walking crooked last night - so I know he over did it, and his back will be bothering him over the next few days. So, I am pretty sure I will be relegated into helping put everything back into the shed at some point over the next two days.

Well, I am almost done packing... Everything fits into my suitcase/carry on/extra bag... However - there isn't much room to spare. :crazy2: And I still don't know how I am going to get my new Duck Butt Bag to fit inside my Toy Story messenger from last year... I was thinking about trying to fit everything from my Toy Story messenger into my Duck Butt bag and just carrying that as my bonus bag... But I don't think that will work - I just have too much. And I don't think I will be able to fit my Duck Butt bag into my other carry on... but I think I will have to try - as that is the only way it will work... :scared: I need to have one park bag in my carry-on though, because we do plan to go into the parks that night.

So, what do I have left to do, you ask?

Well, first of all - I have to do laundry. LOL I couldn't do it yesterday, because Josh started his laundry and then left it all day. :scared: I have two loads to do - one whites and one darks. Once those are done, I can straight stitch the remaining appliques on to our tanks. :thumbsup2 I hope to have laundry done today, so I can straight stitch those tomorrow.

I also have to do my Jiminy wallet... I am not sure what I am doing for that yet - I may have time to do a small applique on the front of it... but then that leads me to feel even MORE badly that V doesn't have one on her wallet. :guilty: So, I am just not sure what I am going to do?

And then, maybe if I have the time tomorrow - I will work on Alli's bag insert... It shouldn't take long to do... It's just a LOT of bias trim work - and I despise working with bias trim. LOL

Today.... Well - I have a bit on my plate... First off - The girls and I are running to the mall - I wasn't planning on this side trip, but Alli wanted to buy something for her shoes for the trip. :confused3 Not sure what it is, but she is paying for it, so...

Then we are running to Target - the big Target. Where I have to pick up a few more things... I need a white zip-up hoodie for the flight (which I plan to straight stitch Chiara's 4 parks logo on to the back)... I also need to get ear buds for V for on the flight... And I need one more set of travel sized bottles for Alli... I tried to tell her that she is allowed ONE quart sized Ziploc for on the plane - I don't know how she is going to do it? She doesn't seem to understand that the ziploc is just for necessities that she can't live with out for a few hours... :confused3 She seems to think that a whole week's worth of toiletries needs to go in there. :crazy2:

After Target... We are headed to the next town over to have our Disney nails done! :woohoo: We are all very excited about this! I keep telling Alli that I could have just had her nails done, rather than taking her to Disney - because she seems more excited about her nails than the trip. :rotfl2:

Then we will come home and be restless all evening... I am so used to having SOOOO MUCH on my plate - that having all this excess time at the end is really un-nerving me. I am pretty sure that this is where I will have to insert "Shed Restuffing Duties"... Sure to wreck my just done nails. :scared:

Now, I still have my souvenir Gift Cards to buy... And I am really debating what I should do. I could purchase them today... but I know if I do, my BFF will get her Pharmacy Rewards card in the mail tomorrow. I don't have much on my plate tomorrow - so I am thinking... V had her BIG babysitting job last night, into this morning (she still isn't home...) - so I am pretty sure they will pay her with a check... Which means I will have to run to town tomorrow so she can cash it... So, should I just wait to get GCs then? I am thinking that I might as well - since I have to go to town anyways, and then that leaves me one more day for BFF's Pharmacy Rewards to arrive... :scratchin

So, are you all bored yet? Did anyone make it through all of that? :dance3:

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Sending thoughts and prayers out to all in need. :grouphug:

D~

Have a fabulous day. Wear gloves for helping with the shed it will save your nails.

Love all your creations.

I may end up taking the Jiminy Mickey head (which is based off of a design by my friend Michelle) off of my other tank - I think it might just be too much on that? I might add it to another tank instead?

You could add it to your wallet or is it too big for that?

Well, if she does get paid with a check, you might as well wait and see if the Rx rewards arrive. However, if by some chance she gets paid with cash, I would go ahead and buy today to get it out of the way.

I'm exhausted just reading what you still have on your plate for today and tomorrow. I'm headed down to the sewing room to try to get some sewing finished since its raining here today.
