~Aug 2013~ Sew what~We've gotta find a way back-Part II- TR link posted - 8/31

The Cindy rags bag is beautiful in it's uniqueness. I love the peeking mouse too.

What's done will be done and soon everything will be lovely as you'll be at POFQ!!

The Cinderella "rags" bag is great! How on earth do you think up these design ideas??? You're a never-ending fount of awesomeness! I am not too surprised Allie isn't going to wear her bag outside the parks. At some point it happens to all of them.(the need to be cool) I know with the tremendous amount of work you put in, not to mention the love, it's a disappointment.

Liz, the danglers are totally awesome! What a great job you did! And, Chiara, with all you have/had going, you still managed to get so many designs done...every one beautiful! And the necklaces...what a lovely surprise.

I am sitting here listening to the cry of a newborn. I wish I could go in and help, but I've had a cold (got it from my DD a couple of days after I got to her house) so I've had to keep my distance. Haven't even held Amelia yet. Took the other three (ages 6, 4 and almost 2) to Toys R Us to let them each pick out a toy. That was quite an experience!

Ok, so if I don't get back on before you leave, I wanted to tell you to have a great trip and most of all a safe one. And don't forget to take time to smell the chocolate.

I can't believe how far behind I got. Worse than last time. No need to reply to all of this, you have plenty of things to do for your trip. I missed.....V's monster inc bag...such a great bag and a cute idea!!! Roz is awesome.
And of course the Jessie/Bullseye bag is awesome!!!! I will always have a soft spot for Toy story. Loved the snow white photo, too funny about your DH. The Jiminy Cricket bag is super awesome as well, great colors! Getting to ride in the front of the monorail...very cool and lucky!!! Love the haunted mansion photo, you have your face painted, how fun!!!! I did the mermaid makeover at PL this year with my DH and daughter, it was fun, but I really hate makeup on my face, it makes me break out, so next time, only DD will do it!! My DH did the multi eyed pirate, it was creapy. And I love that castle photo......sooooo sweet. Those danglers are amazing!!

Babynala...you did an awesome job on those!! I would love to make some for my bag, if I ever make a bag.

Love Victoria's pillowcase, was thinking of doing one this past trip and ran out of time. And her pouch is great. That is one of the fabrics I have saved for my bag, as well as a for a dress for DD.

Disneychic...congrats on the new granddaughter! Can't wait to see photos!!! Have fun!

I absolutely love that Cindi carriage bag, just beautiful!

Lovesdumbo....have a great trip, hope your foot feels better.

Babynala...those Jiminy and toy story danglers are awesome!! Sooo nice of you to do so many.

Chiara....those appliques are awesome!! You are sooo sweet to do those for them. And I just love those necklaces. If I wasn't broke right now, I'd be enlisting your service. Maybe in a few months, hopefully.

Glad Kat is doing better.

So sorry I was so chatty today. Guess that's what happens when you fall behind.

We haven't been to Tom Sawyers island, girls looked like they had fun. Love all of the photos you posted of your 2008 trip. Can't wait to see photos from this trip. Have a super awesome time!!! Sooo jealous right now, wish my count was 5 :)

WOW love the new bags as well. You do such a wonderful job on them. Your trip is here and you have all this great stuff to take with you. I think Allie is wrong the UP bag is much cooler. After all it's one of a kind! Waiting for Raina and family to arrive, should be here in 3 more hrs.:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Holy cow... YOu all were chatty yesterday! LOL

Your trip is SO close! While this is a hectic time for you....I just love all the pre-trip busy. It makes the trip seem longer! Have a great, fun, and busy day! I just love all the danglers and the pixie dust. What special people you have I your life!
Happy packing!! Ruth

Hi Ruth!!! So happy to see you - I've been wondering how you are doing?

Have fun at Target. I hope it goes quickly.

I can't believe your trip is almost here. I hope Alli changes her mind the bags u have made for this trip are amazing.

Thanks Chiara - I hope she changes her mind too... I put so much thought into that bag - and I just thought she would love it... Teens - I don't understand them... Sigh....

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
your ALL LEAVING!!!! YOUR ALL GOING TO DISNEY!!!!!
I am SO SO SO excited for you ALL!!!

Soon... But not quite yet. LOL

[with that said i am ALSO so upset i won't be meeting you all there!
all this picture talk and talking about NOT carrying a bag!

I know - I wish you could come too!

[WOW the necklaces are out of the park cool!!! the felt sewing things are ROCK ON awesome!!! Chiara you did amazing work! i learn so much about you guys here on the dis! you are ALL so darn creative. (again i am jealous)

I know - I am so lucky to have such great Dis friends!!!

[the danglers!!! point my in the direction to buy them please!
oh i am going to go broke!

Talk to Liz... :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh it's too soon lol. Can we delay another week? Trying to crank ut some mre things for v. I need to lack. I feel incredibly disorganized. Love the Cindy bag and other new goodies!

See you in the park!

I know - it's coming so quickly, I just knew it would... I am going crazy with all I have left to get done... Sigh.

I agree, I love this bag and I can imagine how it looks in real life because that fabric is gorgeous (but doesn't photograph well). What a wonderful bag to carry in the parks and I love the glass slipper
No etsy shop for me but I think Chiara does have a link. I know Beth can make danglers too.

I think you guys could have a lot of fun making danglers for everyone!

I love seeing all the pictures of bags with their danglers. I liked how Alli chose the different themed danglers. I figured she would pick and choose which ones she used on the different park days. Someday I need to hear why Jasmine is her favorite. I figured it would be Alladin

Haha... Well - at this point, I will be happy if I can get her to carry the bag at all. :sad2: I will puke if she carries that ratty old VB around the parks for the whole trip... :scared:

Love all the designs that Chiara made for you guys. I love the idea of swapping out the designs on the tanks. Even if you just take off the felt designs and use the tank tops as is it is better then having a shirt that only gets worn once.

I am really excited about this... They turned out great!

Chiara gets extra bonus points for pleasing a teenager. Those necklaces are so cool. V looks so happy wearing her necklace and A obviously loves hers too based on the fact that she is wearing it and thus NOT able to get a picture.

Exactly - I totally agree! I didn't get one last night either... We have just been so busy - about the only time we are together over the last few days is during dinner.

Glad to hear you got your auction bag done. Your trip is getting so close, try not to stress too much. After this past weekend's visit and horrible drive I am sure you guys are wiped out. I'm getting excited for your trip and your visit to the water park.

You are right - we are all still recovering...

No worries about checking in here. We will be patiently waiting for your TR (no "P")

Very excited to get started on it... I have my notebook all packed. :thumbsup2

Both Cindrella are cute. I do like the one with the coach better.
Your vacation is so close now.
My daughter decide that she should unpack all her camping stuff and start packing for Disney World. We leave in a month. Our Disney mail came on monday.
I hope your Target day isn't too boring. That's one thing I never have to worry about at Walmart. Boring is the one thing it isn't. Yesterday we had our photo lab eval. We got an 87 which is very good. If management would do their part we'd do much better.
Liz

Thanks Liz... I think your dd needs to start packing for Disney for sure. LOL That's half the fun!

the bag is just SOOOOOOOOOOOOO sweet!!!
another perfect hit and KNEW you would be able to get it done!!!
Way to go D~
you never stop amazing me with your talents!

Hahaha... I am just happy to have it finished!

I love everything! The Coach bag is awesome. I love fairy frost fabric. The Cindy Rags bag is so cute. And the danglers - I really need to get busy and make some for myself. Saturday is already shot this weekend - well not really shot, we are going to my gfs shore home for a party. This is an annual event and sometimes its the only time I get to see some of these people. My oldest dd and her bf are also coming.

So that leaves Sunday for sewing. I need to finish up 3 skorts - they are nearly finished, and then work on a couple more tshirts and hopefully the danglers.

Thanks Tess... I sure hope you are able to get some trip sewing done soon.

Kat is back at her dad's for recuperation, though she seems to be doing really well. Not sure what the next thing is for her, though I suspect she will be assigned light duty by the Navy.

Wow - already??? Boy - they don't give you much time to recouperate. :(

Only a few more days before your trip! I'm a bit jealous that we won't be able to have dismeet this time. Maybe next year.....

I hope we get to meet some day too!

Your trip is so close. I've been on a road trip in Sweden in a motor home for 8 weeks with 3 cats. So I have a lot to catch up to on your Pre trip report.

Lillian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soooo happy to see you!!!!! I asked about you a few weeks ago, and I didn't get any responses... I was starting to get worried. I hope you had a wonderful trip, and so happy that you checked in! :cheer2:

OK, how did I miss the Cinder-ellie bag this morning? Obviously I was busy quoting and trying to get my kids out the door.

It is so cute. I love the little bow.

Thanks Liz... I think the bow is my favorite part too!

The Cindy rags bag is beautiful in it's uniqueness. I love the peeking mouse too.

What's done will be done and soon everything will be lovely as you'll be at POFQ!!

Thanks Ruth!!!

Lois... You flatter me...

It is such a disappointment... Oh well... Maybe I can - at least - talk her into buying a new Disney VB bag while we are there? I just can't stand the thought of her carrying the icky one she intends.

Liz, the danglers are totally awesome! What a great job you did! And, Chiara, with all you have/had going, you still managed to get so many designs done...every one beautiful! And the necklaces...what a lovely surprise.

Awww... Congratulations again... I hope you are feeling better soon so you can cuddle that little sweetie!

And LOL - 3 kids in TRU... No thanks... LOL

Thanks for all the compliments... Yah - I love doing fun things - like getting my face painted in Disney... I didn't do it at all last trip, and I don't think I will do it this trip eithe r- it will just be too hot... But I will have lots of other bling, so I am sure I will be hard to miss anyways. LOL

Babynala...you did an awesome job on those!! I would love to make some for my bag, if I ever make a bag.

Awesome!!! I love that fabric - the quality isn't the best, but the print makes up for it.

Disneychic...congrats on the new granddaughter! Can't wait to see photos!!! Have fun!

YOu need to try Tom Sawyer's island, it's a must do for the girls. They love the barrel bridge!

WOW love the new bags as well. You do such a wonderful job on them. Your trip is here and you have all this great stuff to take with you. I think Allie is wrong the UP bag is much cooler. After all it's one of a kind! Waiting for Raina and family to arrive, should be here in 3 more hrs.

Yay!!! I hope you have a wonderful visit with Raina!!! I just started reading your PTR the other day... I hope to finish catching up with it before we leave... Unfortunately - I am only on page 1, so it might be a while... :coffee:

**********************************************************

OK - so yesterday was a Target day. Surprisingly, it went very fast, until the last hour - then it dragged by.

So, I came home, threw some leftovers on the table...

Then Josh and I walked down to the big garden together, and did some harvesting... We have several things that are doing great (pumpkins, squash, zucchini... basically all the ground vining plants) and a few things that aren't doing the best... peas are gone... But we will be happy to have what ever we get.

Afterwards... Josh walked over to the neighbor's to visit... and I opted to go to my sewing room for a while...

In that little bit of time, I was able to totally quilt my last park bag! Total shocker!!! I had gone up before work yesterday and cut it out... And I had only gone up last night with the intention of quilting 1 or 2 pieces... but I did it all. :woohoo:

So, today, I will be working on the applique and hopefully start assembly... With any luck - it will be done today. ::yes::

In light of my dedicated work hours... I have added a few things to my plate... :scratchin Seriously... I don't know what is wrong with me... but I must always have something to do - it must come with age or something?

My new and updated trip customs list:

1. Finish final trip bag
2. Applique one item on to felt for one of my shirts
3. Make Allison's insert for the bag she may/may not carry.
4. Make coordinating wallets for all of our bags (which may/may not have appliques on them... Up, Monster's Inc. and Jiminy)

Yup - it's official... I am a little insane. :crazy2: But it's all in good Disney fun!

Oh, and I took a photo of the shirts I have done so far... I was going to take them all individually - but then I got lazy and I just put them all together for a group photo...

Aren't these awesome??? All of them are on the front left bottom corner of my tank tops - because I always carry my bags on the right, so they will be totally visible. The white Donald one (my favorite - and a last minute addition) is on the back bottom left corner... Oh - and the one Donald one, I did on my borrowed machine - just to try it out, and I liked it, so I used it. I just LOVE all of these!!! I hope to figure out how I am going to use the rest of them... because they are all awesome! Chiara - you did such a fantastic job on all of them!!!

IMG_0472.jpg

And then, my good friend Jen sent out my last shipment of hair accessories I ordered... I am super stoked about these!!! She was kind enough to let me use her photos for posting, since I am not sure I will have the time to take pictures once they arrive... But she made these to coordinate with my bags, and her visual eye just amazes me - true talent there!

First the flip flop bling...

She is just sending me the bling - not the flip flops... She made these at my request, so I can attach them to my existing flip flops... And check out the Toy Story ones... Seriously - they are not the same... I am just in LOVE!!

And then the headbands... I am speechless about these! Remember when I did my first order, and V's OTT headband came, and we were all IN LOVE??? So, then I just HAD to order more OTT headbands... So, these are a result of that.... Check out all the little details in these! Seriously - it doesn't get any better than this!

I cannot wait to pair all of these up with our bags and outfits... I know that it is going to be sooo much fun!

Sorry that I don't have the time to post other Disney pictures from previous trips today... I just have a lot to get done. I hope you all understand.

I hope you all have a marvelous day today! Sending out good thoughts and prayers to all of you.

D~

Congratulations on the newest addition to your family. Sorry that you are still nursing that cold. Hopefully you can get over it soon so you can get your hands on that baby!!!

D~ OMG that bling is amazing. The little Cowgirl hat and the rope - it doesn't get any better then that. So many great details. The headbands are super cute too. You are stylin' from head to toe.

I love how you added the appliques to the shirts. Glad your bags will not be covering them up. Adding more items to your list????? You are funny. Hope you get everything done. I am really looking forward to seeing your new bag :scratchin I would do the new insert last just in case you don't get it done because she could just use the one for her other bag. Is she bringing her other camera bag that you made? Or is she not planning on bringing her camera around the parks? I know you guys will need a suitcase just for your accessories :thumbsup2

Your bags look amazing....as usual. You are going to have so much fun! Have you ever thought of opening a business where you teach people how to sew??

Your tank tops looks really cool. I had a great trip in the motor home but after 7 weeks it was enough. We traveled for 8 weeks before we finally got home. The cats was exceptionally good traveling. But during the last week they got enough of it all and started to get bored and get on each others nerves. We were all very happy to finally be home.

I'm not staying home for long. Next friday I travel to Manchester, England to be in my sisters wedding. My cats will stay at home. But after that I'm home for a while until I travel to Rome, Italy in late November / early December.

Everything is fabulous. Love the accessories from Jenn she is so talented.

Thanks!!! I am just so happy that Jen was able to get my stuff done - I know she has been so busy!

your going to look SO DISNEY there! they may offer you a job!!!

Haha... Then what would I do? :rolleyes1

Congratulations on the newest addition to your family. Sorry that you are still nursing that cold. Hopefully you can get over it soon so you can get your hands on that baby!!!

I am super excited about all of this stuff! I was so worried because I always think of customs being so heavy - so I am glad I was able to come up with some sort of fun items that aren't bulky or heavy. :thumbsup2

I love how you added the appliques to the shirts. Glad your bags will not be covering them up. Adding more items to your list????? You are funny. Hope you get everything done. Thanks! I am super happy with how they turned out! Yah - I hope I get everything done too... And yes, the insert will be last - especially if she isn't sure she is carrying the bag in the parks in the first place... And her other insert works fine in any of her bags.

Your bags look amazing....as usual. You are going to have so much fun! Have you ever thought of opening a business where you teach people how to sew??

Thank you! :thumbsup2 I had not thought of that... I am not sure how many would really be interested. LOL

Welcome home! That is a very long time to be gone, but I am glad it sounds like you had a good time. I can't believe you are leaving so soon though! I hope you have another great trip and CONGRATULATIONS to your sister!

**********************************************************

Well, yesterday was interesting... For me anyways.

For most of the day, I appliqued... Now, I had no intentions of doing a very detailed applique on this bag - and I really didn't... but rather than just doing one applique - I decided to do the second one on felt, so I could sew it to one of my tank tops. So, all in all, I did 2 appliques yesterday. :thumbsup2

Then, I started my bag assembly... That was the interesting part. Remember how I told you all I drafted a new pattern on Wednesday night? Well, I didn't have time to make any prototypes at all... So, I just went into full on bag building mode... :rolleyes1 So far, so good. It's going together just marvelously!!! This makes me soooo happy!

The bummer though... Laying in bed this morning (attempting to fall back to sleep) - I decided that I didn't like one of the fabrics I had chosen for one part of the bag... So, I need to take some time this morning and rip it apart and redo it. Hopefully it doesn't take long.

I hope to have the entire bag finished and photos posted before lunch today. :thumbsup2

Then, V wants to run to town to get her hair trimmed. I am sure we will stop at Target too - since we always do.

After that, I need to be home by 3, because one of my neighbors called last night and wants to do "afternoon margaritas" today. :cool1:

So... That leaves Saturday and Sunday to do...

3 wallets...
Allison's insert...

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....

I will be stalking for pictures of your new creation. Good thing I set up the old Mac in the basement :)

I need to make hair appointments for C and I before our trip thanks for the reminder :)

Love that picture of the girls. You have so many great candid shots too.

Good luck getting your bag done today. No more ripping things out. LOL.
I think you can

i can't wait to see the stuff finished!

OMG 3 days!!!!!!!

Kathy leaves today and Suzi Tomorrow!!! ugh i want to go...

adn then Dee leaves too!!!

I am doing a quick drive by in case I don't get on this weekend to wish you a wonderful, magical trip. pixiedust:

I am soooooo far behind right now thanks to work but hopefully will have some time while you are gone to catch up and see all of your goodies.

Thank you! :thumbsup2 I had not thought of that... I am not sure how many would really be interested. LOL

I know I would if you lived closer to me. Last week, I got a flyer in the mail about classes through our community agricultural extension center. One was beginning sewing. Only cost $5 material fee for four weeks. I immediately went online to sign up, and the class was already booked. Maybe early 2014. I do have a lot on my plate already.

3 wallets...
Allison's insert...

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....

I know you can, I know you can, I know you can. :)

I did sewing lessons once...started at $25 an hour... ended up at $15 an hour. Was supposed to be a basic class...ended up being a custom dress for her daughter.

Also did one that I still have the half finished project in my studio. She decided she didn't want to pay until the project was finished and she never came back...

Doing this would mean having clear cut rules in place...what they supply, what you supply, what will be taught...what will be made...and WHEN the payment will be made!

Nini

PS...not to say they all were bad experiences for me...several became good friends. Just no one wants to pay for the lessons. If they go to Joanne's to get the same lesson it is much more and larger class size.

Sooo... You all thought I was going to WDW with out a Donald park bag didn't you?

Hahaha... NOT going to happen...

As you all know, Donald wrecked my first UPB on our last trip - I am still a bit frazzled about that one...

And I cannot wear my Donald backpack in Disney in Aug... I will for sure melt...

I needed a cross-body bag...

So... I had to create something new and extraordinary...

The thing that puzzles me... Every time I make a new bag - Donald ends up being my first theme... He was my first UPB, he was my first backpack... And now this... :scratchin

Well, I drafted this pattern on Tuesday night... Yup - that would be less than 3 days ago... Due to my trip sneaking up on me faster than I would like - I was forced to not even do a prototype of this bag... I just had to buckle down and DO IT... :faint:

So, that's what I did... And I did it... And I like it. There is one annoyance, which I may or may not remedy while we are in WDW...:confused3

Well, here it is, my final park bag for this trip... The bag has no name yet...

IMG_0473.jpg

Under his collar:

Inside the pocket under his collar:
IMG_0475.jpg

The bow I put on the side:
IMG_0476.jpg

Back slip-in pocket:
IMG_0477.jpg

IMG_0478.jpg

Inside... Now this is the part that annoys me... My hat is so bulky in there and it takes up more room than I would like - I may end up buying a Donald in WDW that I can just cut up and use for legs. I will have a scissors with me. ::yes::

IMG_0479.jpg

IMG_0480.jpg

So, that's it - I hope you enjoyed it! I am very much looking forward to carrying this in WDW! :lovestruc

D~

So awesome. That Donald is too perfect to be under the flap.

Absolutely love it and so happy you will have a duck butt bag to carry around the parks. Plus everyone won't be pointing at you from the back now, they will be pointing at your front! :-)

What a great Donald bag you have made :cool1:
Only 3 days left until you leave. The trip is finally here for you :cool1: :cool1: I wish I was going.
