~Aug 2013~ Sew what~We've gotta find a way back-Part II- TR link posted - 8/31

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Ursula bag, love the pin story and the pictures that accompanied the story.

We have stayed at the CSR 10 times, and once in a junior suite (we were upgraded for our 25th wedding anniversary). With the exception of our last stay there, every stay has been lovely, wonderful and fun (the last time was not the resort's fault, but the people staying there--the Pop Warner group).

we are going in oct 2014 don't think pop warner is there at that time. :confused3
thanks for the info it's our first trip so I wanted to have others opions They do have queen beds right the Disney site says queens but my TA said doubles??

I think Disney knows what they have in their rooms over what a TA says they have I would believe what is on the Disney website :thumbsup2

The 2013 Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer & Dance Championships will take place December 6 through December 14th at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. I'm ALMOST positive its around the same time each year so you should be fine for Oct 2014

I copied and pasted it to an email and sent it to her.....lol just double checking with the pros is all

Congrats on the weight loss and toning! I swore up and down that I wAs going to lose weight and be in better shape for this trip. Seriously tho,I'm likely a couple pounds heavier :( which is myown fauls. Even with having the puppy I find that I jus do not get enough time to walk him and go on the super Long walks, between work and v and photograph and customs, there jus isn't enough time in a day. My eating habits are only the best either, so I am pretty disappointed in myself. I just seem to lack willpower and discline... And time.

Ditto - I used to have amazing will power - (I may have mentioned Ruths being stubborn) But lately I've got nothing and even less time.

I LOVE your pin trading story.

We can never do pin trading due to the TRADING portion. Mr D doesn't quite get the fact that a trade involves giving up one of his treasures. A couple of years ago I spent a small fortune on pins. He wanted to trade, but when he realized it meant he had to give up one pin to get a pin...well... he actually left the pins in the room safe. He was afraid someone would MAKE him trade. Epic fail!

Nini

That is hilarious. We usually end up getting one pin a trip and have never tried trading. If my mom were going frequently, that'd be her bag. She collects all sorts of pins, loves talking to people and would get a huge kick out of the whole experience.

Thanks so much for the prayers and thoughts. I think it's finally caught up with me today. I over slept for the first time in years. That's where it's good to be the boss - especially if my schedule is fluid.

Love the Ursula bag, but I'm big into Villains. Her tentacles are great, with the polka-dots on the sucker side.

I'm really looking forward to the packing stories. How will you filter down your pile to fit it in you suitcases WITH clothes!!

What a great trading experience! That's great the girls still remember it so well.

Ursula turned out great!!!

D~ the auction items are awesome. But, Usula is my least favorite villian. Unfortunately, because I was planning on scoring this months bag. :rotfl2:

Love the pin trading story. We have tried pin trading, but usually when DD is trading she ends up regretting the trade. And, she usually trades one I paid big bucks for for a tiny cheap one. So, I don't encourage it. We do get some interaction with the CM's though. DD is a chatty one when she wants to be.

To Ruth - I am so sorry for the pain you & your husband, and his family are going through. I will pray for strength for all of you. My brother died in an accident, and as hard as it was to loose him, it was even more difficult to watch teh pain my mom endured for the rest of her life.

Prayers for all my disboard friends.

Oh d Ursula s just fantastic great job!

We call V Victoria too lol I am too lazy to type Victoria.

I le the pin trading story too! I need t get V more trade pins. She loves it. She is shy so it's hard for her to ask people, but I'll neverforget this man last year at DTD who asked her to trade and he gave her two princess pins for a fast pass one. He was not a CM. he was so nice.

That pin story is great! I just don't know if it is for us. When Bradey sets his mind that he doesn't want to do something, he doesn't do it. Even if he thinks it looks like fun later. If he has said no. It's a no.

But I will do my best and maybe...just maybe he will see how cool it is. Other than the sketchy lots on ebay and Amazon, I haven't seen any wonderful deals for starter sets. So I will just buy a set down there if he wants to. We can get some at the Poly when we check in and then we will have them just in case...

And as far as your old BFF....I think it will be great to see her again after all this time at your favorite place on earth! How awesome!! And it is great that SciFi had another opening to fit you all.

Well... hopefully he changes his mind some day. :wizard:

I am excited too!

I LOVE your pin trading story.

Nini

Ahhh... I can see where that would make the "trading" portion of it a little difficult. :rolleyes1

YES! This is what I am afraid of for Bradey. Can totally see him crying about this the whole week.

:scared:

This is a RIOT!!!

I love the pin trading stories!!! My munchkins pick out their least favorite to trade. The favorites now stay home on this really cool pin board we just received from a wicked cool person..

That's what we do too... And we usually collect a theme for every trip. THis time, we went through all of our least favorite pins from our last trip and pulled them out to trade this time.

The pin trading story is great, but I absolutely love the look on V's face in the first picture! She is so enthralled! I don't trade pins, the ones I buy I buy because I love them. Last trip, I had a little girl come up to me and ask to trade for my Tink pin! Sorry I had to disappoint her, but I had to say no. Guess I could buy a package to trade with...

Hahaha... I also buy a bunch because I love them. We usually do one pin each for the year we are there... And we usually do a pin if we do a new ride or experience something awesome - like for me, last year, it was ToT.

We do pin trading every time we go. My daughter has never looked that excited about trading , though. One year we managed to get the complete set of bus pins and almost all of the monorail ones. We had had the bus ones but when my daughter cleans, she tends to throw things away with out looking to see what she's tossing in the trash. One year she threw away Indians baseball tickets and those pins.
Today I'm in photo. We've been busy since we price match your sale.We also do a lot of speciality things like mounted photos and faux canvases.
Liz

Awww... That's a bummer about her pins and the baseball tickets. We really try to talk to the CMs when we are trading - if we have the time - it's always a fun experience.

Love Ursula! Love the purple and black! Love the polka dots! Oh wait....did someone say "POLKA"

:rotfl2:

Hmmm....I have enough material left to make one for Bradey. Maybe that will be the ticket to him trading...if he knows he has something fun to put them on at home....

I think you should try it - those pin boards are awesome!

D~ Great bag! You captured Ursula's wicked eyes perfectly! Love!

Also, what a fun story about the pin trading. I have traded pins a couple of times, but I'm like Tess. I only buy pins I love. But those pics of the girls expressions are wonderful. I can totally see getting "trade" pins and upgrading that way.

Yah - that's why I just buy the cheapest pins I can from Disney, it doesn't matter what they look like - or what they are - the uglier the better... :rolleyes1

Meeting with your HS friend sounds like fun. I'm sure you'll be able to pick up right where you left off. Does she live near DW? If she gets to go often, she'll probably be fine with going with what you all want to do.

I am not exactly sure how near she is to WDW - just that she lives in FL. From the sounds of things, she has not been to WDW before. :confused3 I will have to ask her though... Now I am curious. LOL

Hope you have a great shopping experience, get lots of bargains and stay within budget! I'm off to Kohl's to buy something for Dan's birthday, which is Saturday. We also got married on his birthday, which I did not want to do. He promised that the 20th would always be our anniversary first and then we would celebrate his birthday a week later. We have done that, but his family doesn't seem to get it.:rolleyes1 Oh well, they're great people and I guess I'm a little anal about it. Have a great day!

Me too!!! Happy early birthday to Dan (just in case I don't see you before then) and Happy Anniversary to both of you, I hope you have a marvelous day!

I love love love the pin trading story. How great.

I absolutely adore the Ursula bag. I think I need to egg DH on to give me more money and I am trying to talk my sister in to it too

Good luck on the Auction.

Hahaha... Well, I hope you find someone who wants to buy Ursula. LOL

we are thinking of changing to CSR jr suite so we could all stay together. Does that sound like it would work?? Have you stayed there?

I have not stayed there, I wish I could help you out. I have only ever stayed at FQ on property - and I don't see that changing any time soon, as we LOVE it there! I think the only other Mod we would ever try is POR?

Oh forgot to mention ursala is the bomb love it but Tink is my girl.....lol

LOL - Thanks!

Yikes!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Ursula bag, love the pin story and the pictures that accompanied the story.

Thanks Kathy! We are getting sooo close - super excited!

LOL - you should get her hooked... No turning back though after you try.

Thanks so much for the prayers and thoughts. I think it's finally caught up with me today. I over slept for the first time in years. That's where it's good to be the boss - especially if my schedule is fluid.

Still sending thoughts and prayers your way - such a sad, sad situation.

Love the Ursula bag, but I'm big into Villains. Her tentacles are great, with the polka-dots on the sucker side.

Thanks!

I'm really looking forward to the packing stories. How will you filter down your pile to fit it in you suitcases WITH clothes!!

Well... I've been a bit concerned about that. :rolleyes1 I was going to take a picture of the pile for you - but I have my camera all packed up to go with me to Target today to get my photos printed (and yay for the -$5 coupon Liz told me about - that makes them free!)... I will try to take pictures this weekend.

What a great trading experience! That's great the girls still remember it so well.

Ursula turned out great!!!

I think they remember it so well because I have so many pictures - LOL

D~ the auction items are awesome. But, Usula is my least favorite villian. Unfortunately, because I was planning on scoring this months bag.

That's a bummer Dee... There's also next month's auction... It ends the Saturday before we leave. I know, that's cutting it a bit close. LOL

We have never had that issue... I just always tell the girls that if it's a pin they for sure what to keep, to put it in their bag... otherwise anything on their lanyards is game for trading.

Oh d Ursula s just fantastic great job!

Thanks!

We call V Victoria too lol I am too lazy to type Victoria.

LOL - I am sure we will all be fine.

I le the pin trading story too! I need t get V more trade pins. She loves it. She is shy so it's hard for her to ask people, but I'll neverforget this man last year at DTD who asked her to trade and he gave her two princess pins for a fast pass one. He was not a CM. he was so nice.

The CMs seem to know what to do with shy kids - I've never had that problem, but I've seen some pretty shy little ones, and the CMs seem to be great with them.

**********************************************************

I worked all day yesterday on my custom order bag applique. I need to find some time today to do the wallet applique, as well. It's gonna be rough. Between doing a full auction bag this week and my custom order - it's been really hard to do anything else. Which will be a problem on Sunday when V comes home - I have not even touched her bag while she has been gone... and she will come home expecting it finished. :rolleyes1 Not good, not good at all.

Today is grocery shopping day... My list with coupons is very small - which means it is going to be an expensive trip. :( But I am looking forward to it - there are lots of staples we have been out of... It will feel good to get a little stocked up again.

**********************************************************

In trip related news...

Today is also a BIG day... Today I am purchasing the VERY LAST of my GCs... These GCs will cover the remainder of our park tickets... All of our OOP meals... All of our tips... The portion Suzi paid for our Dessert Party when she booked it... And some souvenir $$ to boot. Super excited to have this trip TOTALLY DONE and PAID FOR!!!! Oh - except for our baggage fees, which will come out of my City check next month...

Now... There is one teeny-tiny souvenir I have had my eye on for a while... If I can save up a bit more between now and our trip, I might just have to splurge on it. :rolleyes1

Vintage photo(s) of the day... Another (short) series... Victoria's first bag autograph of our 2008 trip... Followed by a pin trade...

I hope all of you have a magnificant day! Thoughts and prayers go out to all in need.

Good luck shopping today. i am waiting until Sunday to shop because it is only supposed to be in the mid 80s. I can't wait for this heatwave to break.

Good luck trying to get your sewing done.

Today I am staying home and going to work on trip stuff.

Oh and have y'all registered for the trip the DISUnplugged is giving away to Aulani? If you haven't here is a link to the episode talking about it...
DISUnplugged Aulani Contest
ok its not working but that's where to go anyways

I think the Victorias should be known as V1 and V2 or short V and tall V.

All the mods except CBR have Queen beds. Until the renos of Port Orleans R and FQ, CSR was the only mod with Queens. I've never stayed there, but it looks really great. I would check with Disney, though, (or have your TA check) because there are often conferences held there and I remember reading last year about someone's stay at CSR that was ruined for her because of all the equipment set up ruining the esthetic as well as making it difficult to get around. I think it also blocked access to one of the pools if I remember correctly. So, I'd check just in case.

Good luck on your shopping, D~. I do need to get some pictures done, so maybe I'll head to Target myself today. I'm really bad about getting prints made. I have a gazillion digital photos and nothing to show for it!

Prayers to Ruth and family and for Kat and her PT. And for anyone else in need. Have a wonderful weekend!

Love today's throwback pictures...too darn adorable.

Have a good weekend.

Good luck with the shopping!

At first when you wrote that you couldn't take pictures of the pile I had imagined a stack of stuff (no clothes, just stuff) towering over your head. :rotfl2:

We always end up stuffing the car - until last year we were stuffing DH's Rondo but his ac went out last year and we went in my two door Pontiac. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to get everything in. It didn't all fit in the trunk, but we got it in the car. ---Which reminds me, I should finish cleaning out the car, maybe detail it too, before too long.

Love all the pin trading pics! I have read some things on pin trading, but I think we might have enough on our plates with the autographs for our first trip. we'll see

Yay for the GCs! It must be nice to be officially PIF!!!:thumbsup2

Hope you had a successful shopping trip!

I went out and started buying the kids school supplies today and am really regretting not just paying the school and letting them do it. I'm already at the amount it would have cost me and I still have about another $30 to go. Oh well you live and learn. Next year though the school's going to do the shopping for me!! Plus they get some of the money back so in a way it makes me feel good to know at least a little bit is going back to the school.

Just wanted to share I don't know if you noticed or not but I do have a new ticker!! It may not be a trip ticker but it's still pretty exciting (if not more exciting than a trip)!!!! We are 12 weeks pregnant and couldn't be more excited!!!!

I know exactly what you mean - we have been in some very hot weather too... This morning, we woke up and we FINALLY had a cool front move through last night - it's a nice 67 out there currently.

Shopping went OK... I'll tell more about it below. I hope you were able to get lots of trip stuff done yesterday. :thumbsup2

Thanks Lois... I was able to get my pictures done :woohoo: Which means, I can start assembling my Mini-Planner!!! Yay! That's one thing I love about digital - you really never HAVE to print them... SO much is done online these days... <---- That's the tightwad in me talking. LOL

Love today's throwback pictures...too darn adorable.

Have a good weekend.

Thanks Kathy - I hope you have a great weekend too!

Good luck with the shopping!

Yes, I would probably not do it on your first trip... There is so much to see and do with out worrying about that. But it is something fun to do (especially for younger kids) on subsequent trips.

Hope you had a successful shopping trip!

I went out and started buying the kids school supplies today and am really regretting not just paying the school and letting them do it. Yay for school shopping... I have not started yet... I don't even know where to start, since the girls won't get their school supply list until the first day of school (this is only done in the High school here)... So, I will probably go out and buy a bunch of notebooks/pens/pencils/folders one day soon here and the rest will have to wait until school starts... Which is fine with me - since Disney happens right before that.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So very excited for you!!! I hope you are feeling well...

**********************************************************

Wow... I just don't even know where to begin with yesterday... :scratchin

We started off at my Target store to purchase GCs... I always go there, because we have a very small store, so I like to "give back" and give them the sales - which really aren't sales, because I have no idea how much they make off of GCs sold at a discount? :confused3 But - whatever - I purchased an untold amount of $$ worth... And now I am paid in FULL, FULL, FULL!!! :woohoo:

Then we drove two Targets over (to avoid the crabby cashier lady - I am still not happy with her) and bff and I did our shopping. It was bad, really bad... At check out - I had TWO heaping carts full of food (mostly), and Alli refused to start a 3rd for me. :confused3 I purchased lots of staples that we were out of, and lots of snacks, because we were out of those too... My final total was 379.19 and I paid $200.37 for a savings of 53% - not my best savings, but a nice savings just the same... I really wanted it under $200 - and I was sooo close. The worst part, is once the cashier started adding the coupons to my transaction - the register started freezing up - so it took almost 45 minutes to get all of them added... Finally, at the end, he just manually added them all together, and put them into my transaction in one lump sum... I was sooo worried that the register was going to die and we'd have to start all over. :faint:

I am mostly happy with yesterday's buys at Target, considering that a lot of my stuff wasn't even on my list, and it was "impulse buying" - I was still able to get a good savings. I really love that Target lets you stack coupons... So, yesterday, my savings went something like this... Manufacturer coupon, Target coupon, Cartwheel, Team Member discount, Target Check Card discount, Pharmacy Rewards discount... And let me tell ya - they all add up... It's pretty cool.

Ok - then we dropped BFF off at her house, because she had an appointment, then Alli and I went to the actual grocery store... I had a ton of store coupons for this store, but not a lot of manufacturer coupons... Still, I managed to start off at (I didn't write it down... So, I don't have exact #s here) $113 and I paid $60... So, just under half... Which is pretty good.

Alli and I headed home, with the cooler plump full in back, and it was a mad rush to unload it... being in the middle of a heat wave, and no air... It was serious rushing. But I was amazed that everything in the cooler was still cold (with out ice) when we got home.

Then Alli packed up, her and bff decided earlier in the day that she was going to go spend the weekend with her (Alli is getting bored at home)... Which means, Josh and I have the weekend to ourselves. :woohoo: That rarely ever happens!

So, last night, we drove into town to go to their summer festival... When we got there, it hadn't started yet - so we went out for dinner. To be honest, I wasn't in the mood to go, so we decided to go for a Jeep ride instead. I think the Jeep ride was cheaper - even though it was 2 hours - than the $$ we would have spent at the festival. :thumbsup2

Today, I will be making up for yesterday, and locking myself in my sewing room most of the day. ::yes:: I hope to finish my custom order. :wizard:

Also... Check out my ticker... ACK!!!!

yea but the only pins I have I don't wanna trade :cool1: I was going to put some down on our trip but she has to fix a couple things first.......:rolleyes2

Sounds like a really good trip to the store.

I need to go shopping tomorrow and am hoping I can leave the kiddos home it is just easier.

Unfortunately I didn't get as much as I wanted done yesterday but did make a lot of lists.

Good luck sewing today.

I'm going to spend the day working in the garden. Our front yard is starting to look like this might be a haunted house - the weeds are almost taller than me. Just kidding, but it does look pretty bad out there. Once that is finished I plan to spend the rest of the day in my sewing room. I still have Charlie's pirate costume to finish, and mine to start. I want to make some skorts for me, but I was hoping to lose some more inches first. Not sure that's going to happen in time for me to sew the clothes. Oh, well, I am in better shape than I was this time last year.

Kat is home at her dad's and will be there for at least 2 weeks doing outpatient pt. Then, (I think) she will go back to Walter Reed for the heart procedure and then move into the Wounded Warrior housing. She is on light duty (I think that's what her Dad said):confused3. She is up and walking, can do stairs, etc. Her arm and hand are still not where they need to be, but the progress she has made has been amazing. The power of prayer, positive thinking and youth!

Happy to see you only have 30 days! I know you are probably freaking out. Again, if there is anything I can do to help, let me know.
