~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

:cool1: I think you will have a blast!

A baby figment dress would be so cute. I see you updated your signature. I'm glad to see you are still going in October. I think we will be there columbus day week. I wanted to call today to book but with the free dining going live for Sept I figured I would be on hold forever.
.

Oh cool we will have to meet up.

Yes DH is still laughing that I decided we needed to go in August too. Once this baby actually gets here I am going to be busy sewing but I did just order a bunch of petti's to just add shirts and onsies too for August.

Figment is adorable! In our house, Figment has a very special place...I won't bore you with the details...but it was the first complicated word that Mr D said after the accident...he said he liked the way it 'felt' when he said it.

If we don't go and see Figment when we are in Epcot it causes a meltdown! (should be interesting in June...we are not going to Epcot...)

Beautiful bag as always!

(my husband says I stalk your PTR just so I can try and spot the bags in the park... and I reminded him that is exactly what I did last year....)

Nini

I am behind again... Yesterday was crazy!

D~ been MIA and lurking but wanted to wish Victoria a Happy Birthday !

Hi Sheila! Great to see you! Victoria says thank you.

Love the picture of MM on the swing.

Glad Victoria had a good birthday.

LOL - yah he's a nut case sometimes, but we love him. He fits perfectly in our family.

Victoria did have a good Birthday - thank you.

Nope, we have our Disney themed scrapbooking crop on Saturday so that is taking up a lot of time. Currently I am only on Dis since I am on hold with Disney to apply the discount to our reservation.

Yay!!!

MM is such a handsome boy! That picture really shows his personality.

It sounds like V had a wonderful birthday.

Yes - he is super funny.

She did, thank you.

Glad she had a great birthday!!! My boss walked in while i was reading.. and said I need to make the cupcakes with the cherries. Sooo.. Umm. I need the recipe!!!

LOL... She got the recipe on Pinterest. They are called Shirley Temple cupcakes... I think Suzi found the recipe?

MM always makes me think Mighty Mouse!! He is still cool dude!!

That may be so, but it actually stand for "Monster Max" LOL

Your busy...
Go back to work!

Tell me about it!

Its funny you said your girls look like you (they do!) but don't look like each other. My boys both look like their father, but don't look anything alike. Funny the way that works sometimes.

Oh good - I thought that people would think I was off my rocker... LOL

Glad V had a good birthday. Today is my oldest son, Steven's bd - he's 32 - and I want to know how that happened.

I hope Steven had a good birthday. :)

Sounds like you had a good day yesterday
How sweet of the neighbor kids to come over and sing happy birthday for V.

I thought it was so sweet too... It was just so cute, because they had the little guy in the wagon... It was just adorable.

you need to make outfits for Duffy...

:rotfl2:

I LOVE the picture of MM! Our pets just make us happy!

I agree!

I'm doing pretty well and am back at work! If only I didn't get so tired?? I have little or no energy at the end of a work day and end up in bed almost as soon as I get home! At least I have days off! I'm in a cardiac rehab program and spend most of my days off there! That is about all the exercise I get, so it's a good place to be.

Glad you are back to work... I hope the rehab is helping, even if it's making you tired. I hope you are feeling back to normal soon.

It's a beautiful day here in Michigan!! Hope to enjoy it! Everyone have a great day! Ruth

I hope you do too!

I love that the neighborhood kids came to sing happy bithday to V. And one of the mom's made cupcakes. I did ALOT of babysitting when I was a girl. Each child i loved so much. I bet V is like that & that those kids made her day!

Yes, she is... She dotes on those kids. They wait for her every day when she gets off the bus and they wave to her from their windows - it's so cute!

Okay... about the photo of MM! I think he needs a Corona with lime...bottle of course. hehehe

Some days I think he NEEDS more than that. :rotfl2:

MM is so adorable! He really does look laid back.

He is, for the most part, until the girls come home. He seems to think that Allison is his toy, so he is constantly trying to get her to play. :confused3

I can't get a good picture that is indicative of T's personality because he's a solid black dog and his basic personality is lazy, so he just looks like an enormous pile of black fur.

Sounds like you could just take a random picture, and you'd be just fine. LOL

Those cupcakes look very yummy and I'm so happy that everyone had a good day yesterday.

They were very nummy. I only had one... I donated my other one to the family, since I am trying to get into better shape for our trip.

We made our TS ADRs yesterday after checking the park times. And I downloaded the WDW app to my kindle. Which was kinda fun because it was 9:50 our time, meaning 10:50 FL time and all the characters had gone to bed!

Yay!!! Glad you got all your ADRs made.

Oh those cupcakes just look so yummy! I found some on Pinterest that look similar...V's look like the red is marbled in and the ones I found have almost solid red on the bottom, but I bet they will taste about the same.

They were kind of marbled... They were good - that is all that mattered. :thumbsup2

Good to see you Ruth I figured as much and can relate which is why we are playing phone tag lately You take care of yourself & hope to talk soon

Those cupackes are they cupcakes ? or cookies ? They look delish and MM I just want to love bite him right on that cute nose :wave2: So now that he turned a year in Jan is the "puppy breath" gone? So sad when that happens, no sweeter smell Speaking of animals Maxine turned 7 today I've been so exhausted didn't even make her her annual carrot "cake" I'll bet she knows too will have to do that on Mother's Day

They were cupcakes - but they were just so perfect!

Yah - his nose used to be black and now it's starting to turn pink, we always tease him because he has a "pink nose"... It's adorable - I think. Yah, the puppy breath has been gone for a long time... He now has the most putrid disgusting smelling breathe that I have ever smelled in my entire life - no exageration... We think it's because he loves to chew on our dirty socks... But - WOW it's awful! We have tried everything to get rid of it, and no luck.

Happy Birthday Maxine!!! Yes, I bet she does know it... LOL I hope you are able to make her one on Mother's day!

Sorry I'm late!! Happy Birthday Victoria!!! I love all the pictures of her through the years!! I think my favorite is the table picture. My kids love to sit on our coffee table and eat.

No worries. Thank you Sandra!

I do have to share I that last night Jeff and I were able to go to our local Cedar Faire theme park for a promo shoot and ride a brand new ride before it opens to the public!!! In 2 hours we got to ride Gold Striker 5 times!! It's the longest, fastest, tallest wooden roller coaster in Northern California!!! It also made me realize that I'm not as young as I once was because after we picked up the kids from my in laws I started to not feel very well. But that's not going to stop us from going back for another promo shoot tomorrow night!!!! Can't wait to get back onto it!!!

Ooooh - FUN!!! I hope you made it back for the 2nd round. LOL Not sure I would...

**********************************************************

Phew! OK on to replies from yesterday. :)

D~

D~ Love Figment ! Love the backpack ! Have a good weekend! :)

/have a great day D I have been following just crazy crazy busy and feeling like nothing is getting done.

It's totally OK Chiara! Glad to see you and hope you're feeling OK.

Love Figment! I like the back pack bag too.

Thanks!

Oh the backpack is adorable!!!

BTW booked my solo trip. I leave in THREE WEEKS for my ME-cation all by myself to the World for the very first time! Crazy!

Thanks!

ACK!!! That is sooo awesome!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!

This bag is absolutely fabulous. I want to make the baby a Figment dress for August.

Awww... That would be adorable!

U will LOVE doing this for yourself !

D-Boy did you capture Figment He is my 2nd favorite after Pluto of course

Thanks Ruthie!

Queen_ I LIKE your Minnie the bag is very different If I saw you at a park I would definitely stop you and ask about it ( I do that ALL the time with customs)

I really like that one too!

Thanks, hand applique I know I can do - I do it a lot in making my quilts.

I think your hand applique turned out fabulous!

I think you will have a blast!

Your bag is awesome. The hand applique you did is great, Minnie's face is perfect.

D~ The figment bag is wonderful. He looks so happy to be on a D~ original.

Thanks! I hope so, he didn't have much choice. :rotfl2:

Oh D, I just love how you did the stripe fabric on the bottom too. It just adds so much. And this guy is always adorable to me...one of my favorite rides of Disney!

Thanks - I really debated about that fabric on the bottom... SHould I? SHouldn't I? In the end, I do really like it there.

Oh cool we will have to meet up.

Yes DH is still laughing that I decided we needed to go in August too. Once this baby actually gets here I am going to be busy sewing but I did just order a bunch of petti's to just add shirts and onsies too for August.

Nini

That is awesome about Figment. :lovestruc

LOL... And you did find one last year... ::yes::

**********************************************************

I don't even know where to start about my day yesterday...

The girls and I left for town at 7am. We got there a bit too early to drop them at their respective schools, so I stopped for gas first.

Alli had a Track Meet in Duluth yesterday - so their bus left at 9am... Sounds like she is having a good time.

I was on my way to BFF's house by 7:30.

We headed out to the natural foods store at 8:30... I needed Steel Cut Oatmeal... And I ended up getting a couple of other things.

Then we went to Kohls... I had to return 2 pairs of shoes I ordered online, but I didn't like them when I received them.

Then we had to drive ALL THE WAY back to pick Victoria up from school at 10:45, she had an appointment. I went in to pay the co-pay, only to discover that her appointment was an hour later. :confused3

So, BFF and I took her to Walmart with us - I had to get a few things there (Shhh....)

Then we took her to lunch with us.

Then we brought her back to her appointment.

While she was at her appointment, BFF and I went to my Target.

While I was there - I purchased almost $1200 in Disney GCs... WHOOT - :woohoo: :woohoo: with what I have at home, I am over half way there. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I also purchased everything on my list that was non-perishable.

By the time V was done with her appointment - I didn't make any sense to bring her back to school.

So, she went with us to the big Target store - the one with the mean GSTL... Who was working, but I don't think she ever saw us. :thumbsup2

We were in and out of there in about 40 minutes, which is a pretty good time for us. All we needed were the perishables. Can't remember my final total here - I forgot to write down my starting #... But my savings was right around 50%.

Then we hit the grocery store. They have a coupon book out this week - so the bulk of my shopping was here... I started at $169, and ended at $104... So, not too bad. My cart was plump full!

By the time V and I got home, it was almost 4:30, and we were soooo tired.

We unloaded the car, put everything away... And then I had to make dinner. Which ended up being sandwiches and potato chips. :thumbsup2 I was pretty lazy last night - but it hit the spot.

**********************************************************

Josh was cleaning the girls' shower the other night, after leaning over the bath tub... He was in a lot of pain - can't breathe big breaths... Pain when he caughs/sneezes/laughs... He talked to one of the Doctors at work yesterday, and he thinks Josh cracked a rib. They don't do anything for that now, I guess... He said they used to wrap them, but he said they noticed when they wrapped their ribs, a lot of patients turned up with pneumonia (sp?), because they couldn't take deep breaths. So, now they do nothing.

Kind of concerns me that he was putting so much pressure on his ribs while cleaning their tub, that he cracked a rib. That is not good. So he is in a bit of pain, and won't be doing anything but resting this weekend.

Hopefully it heals soon and he isn't in pain for long.

**********************************************************

Then, yesterday, when I was at my Target... I had one of my most frequent guests approach me... She had an embroidery machine she was trying to sell. I really wasn't that interested, but her price was right... $100.

I don't really have that extra $$ for that right now, because I am in HUGE savings mode for Disney, and I told her that.

She said she'd be willing to trade one of my bags + she would give me cash to boot. Hmmmm....

I then told her it would be over a year before she got a bag. And she was fine with that. :lovestruc

She actually had it in her car with her, so she told me to take it home and mess with it a little bit, see what I thought.

Now, I have no intention of replacing my hand appliques with machine appliques... However, I have been looking for a machine that can do fonts... As, on the rare occasion that people want writings on their bags - I find those the hardest to do. So, I would like a machine I can do that with.

Well, after coming home and doing some research... I am not sure this is the machine that will do that for me?

I would have to buy a PED write thingy... then I would have to buy blank cards to write to. The total for both would be $150. Plus all the pain in the butt time I would have to spend converting files and getting them on to the machine... I just don't think it would be worth it.

I keep telling myself that I've been able to "make do" with what I have for so long... I dunno? :confused3 Not sure this is a time investment that I am willing to make right now?

I guess, I could take it off her hands, and then see what the Brother dealer would give me on a trade for it, so get a machine that would actually work for what I need? It is an option, but I doubt they will give me much for it? I could sell it on Craigslist too -a nd put that $$ towards what I need?

Not sure what to do?

**********************************************************

Today is Victoria's big shopping day at the MOA with me... She is super excited, and has been looking forward to this for weeks. So have I! :lovestruc

It's my last day off for a while... I will be putting in tons of over time over the next week, as I have one bag that needs to be done by Thursday (technically Wednesday) for my May auction. And I have a HUGE detailed custom order this week, as well. It's going to be a tough one, that's for sure. These auctions always sneak up on me.

Anyways, I better run! We need to be out the door in 2 hours, and I have a lot to do.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and everyone is feeling better. :)

D~

:scared1: Josh and his injury I really hope he starts to feel better soon wonder if maybe he hurt himself struggling with those rusty bolts and all the hassle with the truck and didn't realize it , aggravated it when leaning over the tub ? Yes wrapping of ribs ended a long time ago, compromised breathing

Have a Happy Mothers Day all

Quick note...maybe SHE already has the PED basic....did you ask her?

Nini

I am quite certain that she does not have it... I remember when she told me she purchased the machine (new) - it was a little over a year ago. And she only did one project with it, I am not sure she ever got past the preloaded designs on it? I will ask her, but I am fairly certain that she did not have it.

D~

The Figment bag is great! But then again, are any of your bags not great?

Hope you had fun at MOA.

We actually have one day with no TS ADR...We're being risk takers and winging it. The last time we did that we discovered The Wave at the Contemporary and... sweet potato pancakes. Is there a drooling smiley?

I got my embroidery machine for fonts too. Hope you can figure it out. Bartering is awesome, by the way.

DH and I play a game, especially on chilly trips, to see how much Disney merchandise people are weary on any given trip. Last year, in part because of hanging out on the disboutiquer's thread, I added in customs. The only time I remember seeing any was at EPCOT. I may need to add D~'s bags to the game as well.

Hope all you mothers have a wonderful Mother's Day.

So jealous!!! I grew up going to Great America. Took the kids there a couple of years ago. I remember standing in line for 3 hours to ride the Grizzly the weekend it opened.

I remember those waits too!!! Great America doesn't seem to have the lines they used to have. I tend to walk onto everything now even during the peak season. You'll be jealous to hear we rode Gold Striker again last night!! But we only got on it 3 times in 3 hours. The line was a little longer and we had our kids with us so we kept swapping on who stayed with the little ones. My father in law came and loved it!! I never realized how much he loved roller coasters until last night!!!! Now we're trying to talk him into getting a season pass so he can come with us anytime we go through out the summer!

Ooooh - FUN!!! I hope you made it back for the 2nd round. LOL Not sure I would...
I didn't think we'd make it either but we did!! Brought my father in law, step mother in law and DH's cousin. They all loved it!! We rode it another 3 times last night and got the elusive front row!!! OMG!! What a ride that was!!!

Poor Josh! Hope he starts to feel better soon!!

I love the colors of the Figment bag! So cute!

I really like the Figment bag & wallet. If I had made the list, Figment was among one of my thoughts for requesting. So, it was really neat for me to see it. :)

Sorry to hear about Josh's rib. He will be among my prayer friends tonight.

Cool you got $1200 in Disney GC's. I did try buying one with the Red Card & of course, you were right. 5% off. I am thrilled & DH was pretty impressed as well.

Sorry if I haven't commented on much. It has been a very long day. I was up at 6am. Since then I haven't had much down time. Now it is time for bed.

I hope you have a wonderful Mothers Day!

D~ Love Figment ! Love the backpack ! Have a good weekend! :)

Thanks Sheila!

Not sure if you saw my reply to you yesterday, but it's up there. :thumbsup2

Have a Happy Mothers Day all

Thanks!

Not sure about Josh - V and I came home from the MOA yesterday, and he was prepping the deck to be stained. :sad2: So I yelled at him. He didn't end up doing it anyways, because his pressure washer wand cracked this winter... but still - he had every intention of doing it.

The Figment bag is great! But then again, are any of your bags not great?

Thanks Ruth!

Hope you had fun at MOA.

We did!

We actually have one day with no TS ADR...We're being risk takers and winging it. The last time we did that we discovered The Wave at the Contemporary and... sweet potato pancakes. Is there a drooling smiley?

Hmmm... This sounds interesting - haven't heard much about The Wave...

I got my embroidery machine for fonts too. Hope you can figure it out. Bartering is awesome, by the way.

I agree - I am still not sure if it's worth it to me though...

I love the colors of the Figment bag! So cute!

That's awesome that your FIL had such a good time - glad you were able to go back!

Me too... He is already doing stuff that he shouldn't be doing. Sigh. And Grrr...

Thanks Sandra!

Happy Mother's Day, D.

Awww... Thanks Kathy, same to you!

I really like the Figment bag & wallet. If I had made the list, Figment was among one of my thoughts for requesting. So, it was really neat for me to see it.

I have had so many requests for Figment - but this is the first one in a while.

Sorry to hear about Josh's rib. He will be among my prayer friends tonight.

We came home from the MOA yesterday, and he was attempting to stain the deck... :sad2:

Cool you got $1200 in Disney GC's. I did try buying one with the Red Card & of course, you were right. 5% off. I am thrilled & DH was pretty impressed as well.

I knew it would. :) Glad you got to see the savings for yourself - now go get more. LOL

Sorry if I haven't commented on much. It has been a very long day. I was up at 6am. Since then I haven't had much down time. Now it is time for bed.

I hope you have a wonderful Mothers Day!

No worries... I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day as well. :lovestruc

**********************************************************

First of all...

Happy Mother's Day to everyone!!!

I tried to go around this morning to spread my wishes, but I know that some of you don't have PTRs (and I didn't even make it to the TR section at all).

**********************************************************

Victoria and I had so much fun at the MOA yesterday!

I love taking Victoria to the mall - she is a one store girl (welll, actually 2), but we spend hours in those 2 stores. LOL

She tried on billions of items in Hollister, and she ended up with a few cute outfits. Not as great of sale prices as we've gotten in the past, but very cute still. She officially has pleanty of clothes for our trip.

We also stopped by Gilly Hicks, but we didn't purchase anything there, just made an exchange.

We stopped at our favorite sub shop - Jimmy Johns - for lunch.

Then we went to Target... Victoria purchased a pair of yoga pants and 2 tee shirts with her own $$.

All in all, I think she is very happy with her birthday gifts. I know I am - she made some very smart buying choices, and she is always very conscious of what she already has at home, and what she can pair her items with. :thumbsup2

**********************************************************

Once we came home, we discovered Josh trying to stain the deck. I was not very happy with him at all. He does this every time he is injured (like father, like daughter anyone?) - he goes back to working himself too hard too soon, and then it takes him longer to recover. Grrr... Thankfully - his pressure washer wand cracked over the winter, so he decided not to stain the deck yesterday. :rolleyes1

I also had to go back to town to get Allison, she had her track meet in Duluth on Friday, and they got to sight see yesterday. She had a great trip, but she came home very tired, and very hoarse... She was yelling too much and lost her voice a bit. Poor kid. She had a good meet though, and made a few new friends - which I always encourage.

We had salads for dinner last night - they were pretty good.

Victoria babysat for the evening.

Josh decided to splurge and order Netflix. We changed internet providers a couple of weeks ago - and we finally have a fast enough internet speed that supports netflix... In return - our home phone may face the chopping block. Although - we do use it all the time for faxing - so I really am protesting that switch. Anyways - we watched Rainman... It had been decades since I'd watched it, and he reminds me a lot of my little brother, so it's always really a tear jerker for me. :lovestruc

**********************************************************

Today... Well, I will be working most of the day. I hate to do that on Mother's day, but I need to do it sometime, and I've had the last 2 days off. I did sneak upstairs yesterday, for a little bit, and I cut out my auction bag... So, if I can just get it quilted today - I would be happy with that. Hopefully I can finish up early and spend the afternoon with the family.

I hope you all have a wonderful day today - and Happy Mother's day to all of you Moms out there! :lovestruc

D~

Oh, and I forgot to add...

:cool1: :banana::woohoo::dance3::cheer2::rockband::dancer:party::jumping1:

It's Double Digit Dance Day for me!!!!!!!!!!!

:cool1: :banana::woohoo::dance3::cheer2::rockband::dancer:party::jumping1:

D~

Those postings made my morning so very very sweet :goodvibes

I have been following you this morning to the PTRs D' looked like I was stalking you :rotfl: just great minds thinking alike

Have a Happy Mothers Day all :grouphug:

Ruthie

In honor of the DDDance... I thought I would post my most updated Calendar page:

Photobucketaugustalternatetripcopy-1.jpg

As of now... There are a few ADRs that will change.

First, I have two LTT reservations. Only one of them will be staying, however, I am not sure which one - and won't know until that day. I hate to do that, but depending on our flight and check in goes, I just won't know. I promise to cancel at my earliest possible convenience though.

Also, our Epcot day... I have 2 ADRs, at this time, I only plan to keep one of them. I have not decided which one I am keeping yet. Who knows - in the end, I may keep both - depending how our saving goes. :rolleyes1

D~

I did notice you were up early sending out mother's day wishes to everyone :)

Sounds like a fun mother daughter day yesterday and lots of good savings on Friday.

Yeah for being down to double digits and getting so many gift cards purchased!!! Your schedule looks great. BoG on your last night will be a perfect ending.

I hope Josh is ok. He must have been doing a great job cleaning to have cracked a rib. If that was me I would use that as an excuse to never clean again. LOL. But seriously I hope he will take it easy so he can heal.

Happy Mother's Day too.

Don't feel bad about cancelling LTT on the day of...its not a hot get ADR and its done all the time, look at it this way the day you do it you will be spreading magic to a party of 3 that is standing there looking sad and suddenly in a guest relation computer :wizard: the slot has opened because of YOU :cool1: feel better now ??

Monday Aug 26th is THIS a definite ? The Chef M still on we still have the ADR there? Know you were re-thinking when we said BB that day I can do both but MUST know for sure as soon as you know so I can arrange work schedule for that night I can do a switch with someone else (need to let higher ups know as I WILL be back to regular job by then :goodvibes)

Happy Mother's Day.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

I am working today also. I am trying to get 2 orders out and one is about 90% done.
