~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

LOL about your joking with your mom - you sound a lot like the girls and I. :thumbsup2

How awful about your Grandpa... I hope that you all are able to find a solution that suits him soon.
You are a much cooler mom, mine never took me to Disney World, and I never let her forget that fact ;)

My grandpa is a very stubborn man:confused3

Glad you had a productive day in the sewing room. That is funny that MM was laying on your foot pedal. :rotfl2:

Tell Allison to take it easy, shin splints suck and you have to give them time to heal.

Hope you can work out the trip within your budge, Hoping for a great discout for you.

Funny story about MM! I keep my sewing machine plugged in to an outlet strip that I turn off when I'm not sewing. No chance of one of the dogs laying on it when I'm not in the room. Not that Ringo would be able to make it run by laying on the pedal - he's only 7.5 lbs and the pedal is bigger than he is!

My dh comes in my sewing room to "visit" with me too - usually just to get a kiss and see what I'm working on. The dogs come in to see if I have any food to give them and Ringo wants to sit on my lap.

My son used to get shin splints when he ran cross country - his stepmom, who is a physical therapist, told him to take ibuprofen, ice and drink lots of water. Rest is also good, giving them a chance to heal.

I hope everything works out for your trip. I'm hoping the next discount to come out will be for our time frame. My parents never took me to WDW either - mainly because it didn't open until after I graduated from high school...not that they would have taken us there anyway. The only place I ever remember going on vacation when I was small was to my great aunt's farm in Virginia. After my Mom passed away, we didn't travel much at all - at least until I was older.

Sorry to hear about Ruth - will keep her in my prayers.

I should be asleep, but trying to keep up.

Sorry to hear about your dad. We have a lot more in common than I ever thought. I feel like I missed out on a regular dad relationship due to "special circumstances". I grew up fast and missed being a carefree kid. Probably why I love Disney so much, so I can be a kid.

MM is soooo cute! If only he could stay out of trouble. I like luvchefmic's sewing pants escapade story. My golden retriever is 2. Still very much a puppy. I keep saying she will be a great dog in a few years after she learns to behave. She eats any strange nonedible thing she can find, last time it was a piece of elastic. Uggg.

Sending prayers to Ruth.

So sorry to hear about Ruth. Sending prayers. Thanks, RuthIE for letting us know and for keeping us posted! Hope you're doing better these days too!!!

And I enjoyed your MM saga. Very creative!:goodvibes

Oh my goodness! I can't believe that MM has taken up sewing too! I think it is definitely smart to keep your sewing room door closed when you aren't in there. What a funny story! My dog is so tiny that even if she laid right on the foot pedal, I'm not sure that the machine would start sewing. But she isn't allowed in my sewing room anyhow so I will never find out.

Yah - MM is a crazy man, that's for sure! LOL that your dog is so little, hopefully she doesn't take up sewing too.

D~, I look forward to reading your updates every morning! Today, I am laughing SO hard at your story about MM laying on your sewing machine's foot pedal Thanks for starting off my day with a smile!

Always happy to start your day with a smile. :thumbsup2

what a great Mad Max story. I love it. Glad you caught up yesterday.

Yah - I thought so too... And it's such a relief to be caught up!

Awww, how cute your DD's help with your sewing AND your fury family member! MM helps like my husband...geesh thanks.

I am so lucky to have a house full of "helpers". :scratchin

Hope Disney offers a better discount so you don't have to cut down days or dining. It is good to have the budget though.

Me too... I hope that Disney's lack of promotions has kept them less than full this year so that they offer better promotions in the future. :thumbsup2

I have a question if you don't mind... Regarding the disney gift cards purchased through Target. Does the red card discount apply to those? We don't have the red card, but I may consider it if the discount applies to Dis gc/s.

Yes, you do get the red card discount on them. Some cashiers will tell you that you don't, or that you can't, but it comes off quite nicely. So, if you get someone that tells you that you can't - ask them to try it, because it does work. :thumbsup2 You also get the Pharmacy rewards discount on them, if you participate in that.

Oh goodness, all MM wants to do is take a nap and he's inadvertently nearly murdered Patience twice!

Exactly... Poor guy!

You'll appreciate my husband's comment the other day. I went to the commissary to do our big grocery shop for the pay period. My husband was looking at all the food and said, "There's no way all of this was within budget" and I said, actually it was $10 under and he was shocked! Gotta love the coupons!

Niiiice... Great job couponing!!!

Is MM still under there when Patience almost falls off?? Yikes....

Yes! He just lays there. The bad part about all of this, is that Patience is hardwired, so if she were to fall off my counter top - she wouldn't actually hit the ground, she would dangle there until the cords rip out of her motor - killing her forever. :worried:

It sounds like a good idea to keep the door to the sewing room shut when you're not there.

Totally agree!

We now have 4 feet and almost 8 inches of snow. There has been no more snow avalanche, but the danger is not over yet. It's still snowing here

So crazy - I cannot believe how much snow you are getting.

Love the MM story!! Sounds like something our last pet would have done. Brandy always had to be right with me, no matter where I was. I'm glad Patience cried out for help and you rescued her! Twice! Too funny!!

Yah - Poor MM, he just has to be right under foot no matter where we are... Whether, I am sewing, on the computer, making dinner, watching TV - we always have to watch where he is. ::yes::

Make sure Allie is drinking plenty of water and warming up for a sufficient amount of time before doing anything in track. I used to get shin splints and that helped me a lot.

I will, and I will remind her this morning before she leaves for school.

I'll bet I have more fun at Target today than you will.

I'll bet you did too. :rotfl2:

Love the "mystery" stories about the sewing machine and doggie. Too funny!

Yah - I figured you'd all like that one... MM is such a trouble maker sometimes.

[Congrats on getting halfway there to your Disney savings. Here's hoping the trip savings come out soon for you. I guess your dates are later in August now? I know they changed a bit and I know there was recently a code out through mid-August since I sent it to two friends planning trips for this year too.

Well, originally - this trip was going to be in October... but once I got to looking at the girls' school schedules - we were really cutting it close for how long of a trip we could take, and no matter what, they'd miss school. So, I took a look at their school calendar vs. Disney's slow seasons and came up with the end of August. Right now, we are booked for August 19-30, but we are seriously considering dropping 2 days off of this trip (to help with the budget), to make it Aug 20-29, which is still a very respectable trip at 9 nights. So, I shouldn't complain... We were quite tired after our 9 night trip last time, but we only had one day "off" in there, and it was towards the end. This time, I've scheduled 2 days off.

[I've really got to get back to updating my TRs sometime soon since I know have 2-3 more PTRs I want to do here for both 2013 and 2014!

Yes, you do, please let me know when you start them again. I need to get over to the TR section - I have not stopped there for days.

I'm so glad you were able to save Patience (and MM) from a terrible scare. It does make me feel better that T doesn't go very far into my sewing room. He does go in, though: I have a small basket of eyelash yarn for an ongoing project right inside the door. I thought I was able to leave the door open until about a week ago DH came out of the bedroom, carrying one of the balls of eyelash yarn and asking the dog "T, did you steal this?" He's stolen yarn before, but we thought it was because it was alpaca yarn...apparently he likes the fluffy type yarns - long story short: the sewing room door stays shut when I'm not in the house.

LOL - but I know how scary it is, yarn and string are so bad for animals. MM likes that sort of thing too.

LOL - DH lives in fear of my pinning things! I don't have a large enough space in the sewing room for pinning large projects (yet) so I mostly do it in the living room. He's spilled my pins, gotten poked in the head, and generally worries that someday he'll step on an overlooked pin. Poor baby. Neither he nor T actually wants to be with me while I'm sewing, but they both like to be able to see me: T lays in the bedroom door, right across from the sewing room, and DH comes in long enough to give me a kiss sometimes. Or bring me a drink.

LOL - OK, so maybe it isn't the best idea that he helps pin...

Yeah for being halfway there (better to see the glass half-full) and good for you sticking to your budget...and schedule, even if it means lunch is a little late.

Yah - I just see how much more I have to go though, and how much work I have to do to get there + how much time I DON'T have... and I get a lot freaked out. :faint: I have a feeling that I will be up all night, every night for the 2 weeks before we leave, trying to finish our own park bags - and I have a feeling there will be no customs for any of us this time around. Which isn't the worst thing - I have a TON of great items that were Pixie Dusted to us last time around that I would love to use again. :lovestruc

Cute picture of MM!! Glad you were able to save Patience from a certain death!! MM must think he can sew since you and the girls can!

LOL - I think you may be right.

Great job for staying on schedule!

Thanks, sometimes it's so hard, but I feel like it's super important.

Hope that you get a discount you can use!!

Thanks! Fortunately/unfortunately - I have a pretty good discount right now (-35% room only military), but FD would be sooooo much better and it would put us right where we need to be for our budget - AND, we could keep our long trip.

MM happily snoozing below to the comforting sound of Mom's machine sewng away. He was laying on my foot pedal.

Personally I think you are ALL wrong, Here's what REALLY happened:

When no one is home he gets bored (and tired of eating the rug) so he turned on the computer and has been reading this PTR than he thought "Wait a minute W A Y back about 60 pages ago Mom said she might have to make me PANTS for when Dad takes me hunting (don't want to go through THAT again ) but now she keeps talking about some MOUSE and nothing coming from that humming thing above by head looks like MY pants

So MM pondered what to do and he came up with a plan, "I will lay under here and watch and learn" and he did Then MM practiced "pretend to be asleep" and then one night MM said to himself "They are asleep"
and he started to make his pants BUT what MM didn't count on was that his people would hear the machine and get up from

But MM heard his Mommy running to the sewing room and quickly laid down and did the "pretend sleep" figuring that he could pull it off and that knowing Mommy would get another cute picture of MM and he would be on FB and the Dis (terms MM is very familiar with) again because MM is very handsome and is very smart

So MM promises he will find a way to make his pants because he knows Mommy is very busy and MM just wants to help and he needs pants (and remember dogs are supposed to be color blind so please forgive MMs plan)

ROFL Ruthie - I think you may be right. Now MM is so upset because we are on to him.

You are a much cooler mom, mine never took me to Disney World, and I never let her forget that fact

LOL thanks~!

My grandpa is a very stubborn man

So was mine... Both of them. ::yes::

Glad you had a productive day in the sewing room. That is funny that MM was laying on your foot pedal.

Yah - he's pretty crazy... We tease him that he's from the "big hair band" era... LOL He walks around all day, oblivious and his hair flailing everywhere. :rotfl2:

Allison to take it easy, shin splints suck and you have to give them time to heal.

Yes, she is trying to - Her coaches are being good to her - so that helps.

you can work out the trip within your budge, Hoping for a great discout for you.

Thanks! I hope so too - or, at least, a better one.

Oh no!!! I sent her a message on Facebook just as soon as I saw this, this morning. Please give her my love and tell her that we are all praying for her. I hope she is able to find the answers she needs and she heals quickly. :lovestruc Thank you for letting us know.

Thank you Dee.

That's what I get from DH most of the time too - otherwise, I have to bring my latest project to him so he can see. :thumbsup2 Not sure I could sew with giant MM in my lap? :scratchin

My son used to get shin splints when he ran cross country - his stepmom, who is a physical therapist, told him to take ibuprofen, ice and drink lots of water. Rest is also good, giving them a chance to heal.

That is what she has been doing, but I did remind her this morning before she left.

I didn't ever go to Disney as a child either.

Sorry to hear about Ruth - will keep her in my prayers.

Me too - thank you.

Yes, it does sound like we have a lot more in common... And I agree - I think that's why I enjoy my life so much now, I get the chance to grow up through my girls' eyes, and that's why this time is so important to me.

Have you ever seen the movie I am Sam? I watched in once - when it first came out, and I was not prepared for what it would do to me... It was as if someone had taken a portion of my childhood and made a movie about it. It was just awful - things I thought I'd put behind me were right there staring me in the face. Josh didn't understand why I sat in the bathroom for the last half of the movie, bawling my eyes out. When I tried to explain to him - he got it - but it is just an awful, awful movie that I will never ever watch again. If you haven't seen it, and can handle it - I recommend. But when I watched it - I didn't realize what it was about, so it really blindsided me. They have yet to make a movie that relates to my Mom and brother - and I hope they never do.

Many hugs to you... And if you ever want to share privately - I am here. (((Hugs)))

Uggg.

LOL - I agree... MM's favorite non-food item is dirty socks... He has perpetually foul breath, because he is always chewing on someone's, and no matter what we do to keep them from him - he still finds them. :confused3 I agree - he will be a great dog when he grows up, but I think we have a few more puppy years ahead of us.

Sending prayers to Ruth.

Thank you - me too!

**********************************************************

I had a boring day at Target yesterday... I had to set a few salesplans (endcaps) - which makes my day go by really fast - even though I dread doing them.

My neighbor and I did a few laps around town with our dogs - she has a Rodesian Ridgeback - who Josh alway calls "the horse" - which kind of made us LOL, because Keyka is a big dog... But when her and MM were walking side by side yesterday - they are the exact same size - Keyka is just a bit more wide. So, Josh can't call her a horse anymore. ::yes::

We had leftovers for dinner last night... So, I didn't have to cook. :woohoo:

**********************************************************

Trip stuff:

I checked airfare yesterday morning, and it dropped considerably, but not quite enough for me to book. It's been at $410/per person round trip for about a month now. Yesterday, it dropped to $316. I am holding out for -$200.

I am a bit nervous about booking airfare with out Disney codes released for our time frame - so that is why I am holding out for a better fare. Because once I book airfare, I am locked into those dates.

If airfare drops, before codes are released - I will be forced to choose our shorter trip, because that will be the one I know I can pay for. But I will be so bummed if I choose the shorter trip, and the codes that come out are great - then we could have gone for a longer trip. Oh well. I guess I will decide when I need to.

**********************************************************

If you all could say a few prayers for Ruth - Ruthie posted yesterday, in case you missed it, that she had fallen and was in the hospital. They are looking for the reason why she fell.

I plan to spend the day in my sewing room today. I hope to finish up my current bag set (it will be close), and then I hope to go back to last week's bag.

I hope you all have a wonderful day today. :lovestruc

D~

I haven't seen much in the way of great airfare for this summer so I hope you get the airfare you are looking for. I bought our airfare for this summer a couple of months ago when there was a dip like that. We didn't get a great rate for our flight down there but I did get a terrific rate for our flight home. I've learned that we should fly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays because those are the least expensive days generally. Since we usually have some flexibility with schedules it works for us.

Sorry to read about Ruth's fall. I hope they can figure out what happened to her.

I can't wait to see your newest bag.

I hope Disney gets some great discounts out there soon that you can use for your trip.

I hope they find out why Ruthie fell and that she will be well soon.

Today the sun has been shining here all day. But it has to stop snowing for a few days before the risk of snow avalanche are gone.

I have officially decided we are going in January. And to help me with all my excitement I have started my first ever PTR! Of course no one is following yet :( But I'm sure over time. I will needs tons of help planning.

Also, seeing all your sewing and planning. I'm getting inspired to try and make my daughter some pillow case dresses!

Prayers for the other Ruth. I hope they find what's happening and get her back up and around quick!!

Good luck in the sewing room - I had a quick visit to mine yesterday: a co-worker asked if I could fix her split pants (she does sew, but currently is machine-less and wasn't sure her skills were up to a straight hand-sewn seam)

And I have to add - WOW 9 days!! - the longest we've ever been at WDW is 7 days. I'm looking at a 9 day possibility for next year, possibly with a split stay, but I'll have to convince DH - about the split stay, not the 9 days.;)

Ruth was discharged from the hospital this morning Still no answers and can't go back to work without a few more tests Poor thing now has laryngitis on top of everything else so I couldn't actually speak to her She was very touched that everyone cares She's very tired but will try to post soon

RuthIE

I love your MM story with the sewing machine! So funny. I would laugh so hard if my dog did that! My little chihuahua hates any kind of electronics and acts like she's going to kill anything that gets turned on - printer, vacuum cleaner, dishwasher, etc., etc. She goes nuts, barking and carrying on. I don't know what she would do if she turned the sewing machine on by herself:lmao:

Thanks! Fortunately/unfortunately - I have a pretty good discount right now (-35% room only military), but FD would be sooooo much better and it would put us right where we need to be for our budget - AND, we could keep our long trip.

Hope you get that free dining!!

Glad your day went by fast but sorry it wasn't something you like doing.

Hopefully you get that free dining before you have to make the leap and purchase your airfare.

Prayers for Ruth! Hopefully they can figure out what is going on for her.

D~ Have you thought about booking 1 leg of the airfare. Then, if it drops in price you can use the credit to purchase the other leg? That is what I did last time and it worked out very well. The price dropped on the flight down so I used the credit they gave me to purchase the return flight. Then that price dropped and I used those credits for this upcoming trip.

Hopefully, it will all come together nicely and you will be able to have the extended trip.

Hope you had a successful day sewing.

prayers continue for Ruth.

I can't remember the last time I commented. I guess it has been far too long. Unfortunately, things piled up on me the last few months but I think I am through that and can hopefully keep up better now.

I absolutely love the Dopey bag! You nailed everything on that perfectly! Especially the sleeve!

I love reading about your couponing adventures! We can't coupon like that here, so I am absolutley gobsmacked by your savings. Hmmm, maybe I need to do some research and head to Michigan for a big shopping trip one of these weekends so I can try it out.

Love the pictures of MM at your feet. That made me  as Buffy does the same thing when I am sewing. She doesn't like it when I am at the embroidery machine though, as it is on a different desk that she doesn't fit under. The story of him running the machine made me go :scared1:. Thankfully, I don't have to worry too much about that as I turn the machines off and put the sewing machine foot up when I am not using it. I got in that habit because our cat used to chew on electrical cords. :faint: Still can't believe she didn't electrocute herself at some point. And Ruthie, I was laughing so much at your story, I almost fell off my chair! Thank you for that. I really, really needed it.

I hope you get the situation with your dad worked out without too much stress. I know that DH and I will have to deal with that at some point in the future, but thankfully right now both sets of parents are in relatively good health, with only a few minor blips the last few years. I am so not looking forward to the time when we will have to look at alternative housing or care.

As for trip plans, I am crossing my fingers that you get the free dining discount and that airfare drops to where it is more reasonable. I would really love to swing a trip this December for DS's 13th birthday, even if it was only for a couple of days. But I don't know if I will be able to convince DH of that. Have to wait a few more months and see.

Just thought I'd let you know that I am CASEing that chenille baby blanket you made for your nephew. Our next door neighbours had a little girl a few weeks ago and we just found out at the end of last week. She came a little early as she wasn't due until next week. She is a little darling and I found a really cute material for her. Can't wait to finish it and see how it turns out. I am halfway through cutting the flannel right now. I took a break tonight since I can't wash it until Saturday at the earliest since my washer decided to kick the bucket on the weekend :headache: and the new one won't be here until Saturday.

I know I probably missed commenting on a bunch of other stuff too. Forgive me, I really do promise to keep up better.

Sorry to read about Ruth's fall. I hope they can figure out what happened to her.

I can't wait to see your newest bag.

I hope I can get a decent airfare price too... I have all the $$ set aside for it, so that when it drops I can book.

Thanks - I should have my newest bag posted today.

I hope Disney gets some great discounts out there soon that you can use for your trip.

I hope they find out why Ruthie fell and that she will be well soon.

Today the sun has been shining here all day. But it has to stop snowing for a few days before the risk of snow avalanche are gone.

Me too! And I agree - I hope they are able to find the reason for Ruth's fall asap.

I hope the sun stays out and keeps shining for you!

Sorry it is confusing with 3 Ruth

Ruth will be in my thoughts and I still hope they find out why she fell and that she will be well soon

I agree - it is confusing... I think I have them all straight now. When in doubt, call everyone Ruth. :rotfl2:

I have officially decided we are going in January. And to help me with all my excitement I have started my first ever PTR! Of course no one is following yet But I'm sure over time. I will needs tons of help planning.

Also, seeing all your sewing and planning. I'm getting inspired to try and make my daughter some pillow case dresses!

Yay for a trip!! I know a few of us stopped by your PTR. :thumbsup2

Have you been to the Disboutiquer thread yet? Those gals (and Tom) are awesome!

Prayers for the other Ruth. I hope they find what's happening and get her back up and around quick!!

I hope so too.

Good luck in the sewing room - I had a quick visit to mine yesterday: a co-worker asked if I could fix her split pants (she does sew, but currently is machine-less and wasn't sure her skills were up to a straight hand-sewn seam)

I did have a good day. And that was so nice of you to help out your coworker. :thumbsup2

And I have to add - WOW 9 days!! - the longest we've ever been at WDW is 7 days. I'm looking at a 9 day possibility for next year, possibly with a split stay, but I'll have to convince DH - about the split stay, not the 9 days

I know - I know - I am being such a big baby... A 9 day trip is nothing to sneeze at. I just need to buck it up and get a bit more creative with my saving.

Ruth was discharged from the hospital this morning Still no answers and can't go back to work without a few more tests Poor thing now has laryngitis on top of everything else so I couldn't actually speak to her She was very touched that everyone cares She's very tired but will try to post soon

RuthIE

Thanks for keeping us informed Ruthie. :lovestruc

I don't know what she would do if she turned the sewing machine on by herself

LOL MM is just so oblivious to my machines - as is everyone in my house - they just don't hear them anymore. And Josh told me once that they are very soothing - so they put him to sleep, I can only imagine the same for MM.

Hope you get that free dining!!

Me too! But I am really not holding out any hope - they have yet to release it for any time frame yet this year, so I just don't think it will happen.

Glad your day went by fast but sorry it wasn't something you like doing.

It's OK - I just need to stop complaining. LOL

Hopefully you get that free dining before you have to make the leap and purchase your airfare.

I know - this is what scares me the most!

Prayers for Ruth! Hopefully they can figure out what is going on for her.

I agree!

This is an excellent idea! I didn't think of this. I will look into it more this afternoon. :thumbsup2

Hopefully, it will all come together nicely and you will be able to have the extended trip.

I hope so too... Wouldn't it be wonderful if they came out with FD and we could stay EXTRA days? LOL :stir:

Hope you had a successful day sewing.

prayers continue for Ruth.

Thank you!

I can't remember the last time I commented. I guess it has been far too long. Unfortunately, things piled up on me the last few months but I think I am through that and can hopefully keep up better now.

It's totally OK Loree - I know that people have lives and they just can't stop by to read all of the time.

I absolutely love the Dopey bag! You nailed everything on that perfectly! Especially the sleeve!

Thanks!

I love reading about your couponing adventures! We can't coupon like that here, so I am absolutley gobsmacked by your savings. Hmmm, maybe I need to do some research and head to Michigan for a big shopping trip one of these weekends so I can try it out.

You should!!! You shold swing by MN on your way through and visit me.

Love the pictures of MM at your feet. That made me as Buffy does the same thing when I am sewing. She doesn't like it when I am at the embroidery machine though, as it is on a different desk that she doesn't fit under. The story of him running the machine made me go . Thankfully, I don't have to worry too much about that as I turn the machines off and put the sewing machine foot up when I am not using it. I got in that habit because our cat used to chew on electrical cords. Still can't believe she didn't electrocute herself at some point. And Ruthie, I was laughing so much at your story, I almost fell off my chair! Thank you for that. I really, really needed it.

I wish I could just shut them off - but since they are vintage, they don't have power switches. I do have them plugged into a power strip - and I *could* climb under my counter to the back corner and shut it off - but I am just too lazy to do that. LOL Maybe my feet will reach, so I can set them on the counter when not in use? That might work?

I hope you get the situation with your dad worked out without too much stress. I know that DH and I will have to deal with that at some point in the future, but thankfully right now both sets of parents are in relatively good health, with only a few minor blips the last few years. I am so not looking forward to the time when we will have to look at alternative housing or care.

Thank you - I need to call him today to see how his week went. I know that taking care of parent is just part of the circle of life, but it's not an easy thing to do.

I sure hope you can convince DH to take a trip!!! I think you are due. LOL

I took a break tonight since I can't wash it until Saturday at the earliest since my washer decided to kick the bucket on the weekend and the new one won't be here until Saturday.

Awesome!!! I hope you'll come back and post pictures for me to see - I woudl LOVE to see it!

I know I probably missed commenting on a bunch of other stuff too. Forgive me, I really do promise to keep up better.

No worries - honest!!! I am just happy to see you and know that you are OK. :lovestruc Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

I don't have anything else to update about Ruth - maybe Ruthie does? Ruth did send me a message on Facebook yesterday, thanking all of us for our prayers and support. She is home from the hospital. She also concerned about her job... So prayers, not only for her and feeling better, but maybe that her employer will be understanding as well. :wizard:

Today is Friday! YAY!!!!!!!!!

You all know what Friday is... It's couponing day!!! Ahem - but NOT today... :( Remember - I was $6 over budget last week... So, I don't have any $$ left to spend this week. :rolleyes1 Yes - I do like to stick to our budget as closely as possible. I did purchase one item earlier this week, because my coupons for that item expired today and it's something we use all the time. No worries though - I am gearing up for a big trip next week... Although there aren't really any great coupons out there right now - so it may not be all that big. Which is fine - I need to save a bit of $$ out of our grocery budget in the coming weeks to pay for the hog we ordered a couple weeks ago. :wizard:

Even though I am not grocery shopping today, I am going up to BFF's house for a couple of hours to visit. We kind of like our Fridays - so we decided to keep them this week. :lovestruc

Yesterday was a great day in my sewing room. I finished my next bag set! WHOOT! I hope to have pictures posted this morning before I leave - I know you all will love it!

Then, last night - Allison had a track scrimmage with her own team, so Josh and I went in to town to bring her dinner and watch... Little did we know that the event would take 3 hours! I did take a couple of pictures for you all... First of all - her 2nd throw was her best throw yet at 24.4 feet (she needs 30 feet, twice at two different meets to letter) - at the pace she is going, I think she may achieve that. Then at the end of the meet - they all got to swtich events... She chose to run the 4x400 relay - she did great. She is in soooo much pain with her shins though. We plan on her doing nothing all weekend - other than babying her shins with lots of ice.

OK - first is Alli, mid-throw:

Then Alli running the relay:

Alli is the blurry one in blue and pink. :thumbsup2

She is very excited to her her official track uniform next week - their first official meet is next week.

Victoria also did her nails the other day... They turned out really cute - and I thought you all would appreciate them, so I took a photo of those, as well. I hope she does them again for our trip. :lovestruc

Alrighty... I need to go work out - then search for my camera... I have not seen it in weeks. Otherwise - you all may have to deal with bag pictures from my phone camera.

Have a great day everyone!

D~

Have a great day. I am really sorry Alli is dealing with shin splints those hurt.

C has had a couple of dance related injuries this year and it stresses me out. thankfully wrapping and icing it has seemed to help. I am just scared she is going to really injure herself from all the dancing :(

I am off to IKEA today to see about a wall unit for Cs bedroom.
