~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

Good morning! Glad I could help. Not even Channing Tatum gets a rise out of me, but food does.

LOL

Our town does not get a Sunday paper any more either - it's awful! So as a result I don't coupon anymore. I can't spend time at work printing coupons, and at home my new laptop isn't set up with my old printer. I'm not even sure they speak the same language - I think my printer is XP (if that's possible?) and my laptop is the latest Windows version. And besides, ink is too expensive!

That is such a bummer that you no longer get the Sunday paper.

I agree - ink is very expnsive... We have a lazer printer and I love it. Ink is a touch more expensive than ink jet ink, but we get about 1500 pages out of each color. DH talked me into it when we got our new computer a few years ago (which is probably out dated now too - but I love it)... And I am not sure I could ever go back to an ink jet? :confused3 Coupons are burning me through the ink fast though... I am trying hard to only print what we need and use.

I hang around and post occasionally. I'm the one who posted about not getting over the anesthesia for weeks after my robot hysterectomy.

Oh yes - I remember!

I admire your handiwork mostly silently

Thanks! It seems like you're not the silent type though? :rotfl:

I made this last night for supper, during our stormy weather! I had to stay late for a meeting but I was determined to have it for supper last night. My sauce was a bit thin; I think because I had to cook the broccoli separately for my non-vegetable-eating crowd. However, we enjoyed it and I brought the leftovers for lunch today!!!

How can you go wrong with biscuits on top of anything?

I would have to agree - biscuits go great on anything... I also have a recipe for croissants spread with cream cheese and mozzarella, rolled up and baked on top of spaghetti sauce (another family favorite)... I got the recipe from somewhere decades ago (like in high school), and I just started making it a few years ago. I've adjusted the recipe slightly from the original though - we don't like how the croissants get mushy on top of the sauce, so I bake them seperately.

I made it in track about two weeks. They wanted me to do hurdles because I have long legs but that was a disaster because I have no coordination whatsoever.

This is Alli - she is not very coordinated... I think it's because she has always been a fast grower, and her mind never caught up with her body until now? Anyways... She keeps demonstrating her throw sequence for Shot Put, and I keep praying that she doesn't fall over. :rolleyes1 She seems to really love it though!

II am so intrigued with the sneak peaks for the new bag. I read through all of the guesses yesterday and for the life of me can't figure out what it could be. I can't wait to see what it is!

It's posted. :wizard:

Talking about keeping toys, I kept quite a few of the toys from my kids, mostly the girls because the boys "used" their toys to death! Now my grandkids are playing with the toys I saved and it is so special to me as well as the girls. These are toys that you can't get any more and they are so "new" to the kids, it's really a kick to watch them. I also saved all their books. And they had a LOT of books!!! How fun to read to the grandkids the same books I read to their mommys and uncles!

I'll bet this is so much fun...

No, you're not a mean mommy! I would probably win the meanest mommy of the world event since I probably would not have said anything until she was actually looking for her top and wondering why she couldn't find it. (I say that from the distance of not having my kids here any more. I prob would have caved at some point.) But I think you handled it in a way that taught her a bit of a lesson.

Well, hopefully she learned the lesson I was trying to teach. LOL

My DH loves that book The Millionaire Next Door. Like Dave says: "Live like no one else so you can live like no one else". It's so great that you're teaching the girls about finances and responsibility with money. As a culture, we don't usually talk to our children about finances. Good for you! Now, could you go to Washington and teach them about fiscal responsibility???

That book was such an eye opener to me... Josh and I come from two very different backgrounds... His family was a lot more financially stable than mine was. So, to read this book and see how ways of life affect your financial stability, it was clear to me why Josh and I often had different views on our same financial situation... I am more of a hoarder of $$ and he is more of a spender - which is a clear reflection of our upbringing. It was great to read that book and make some sense of it all.

Another note of when kids grow up. They really don't like the limitations imposed on them as they are growing up or the responsibilities we levy on them, but when they leave the nest and are on their own and see how many of their peers are floundering, they gain a real appreciation of the groundwork we have laid. You will get letters and cards thanking you for all you did for them and for being a bit strict when needed. My girls and I are such great friends now and it warms my heart to see them patterning some of my techniques with their kids. Of course, they don't repeat all the mistakes I made, thank goodness. And there were a LOT of those!! I'm so glad you and your girls enjoy each other so much. What a gift!

I can only hope that one day my girls will look back and thank me... They do it often now, because even at this age - they see all the messes their friends are in, and all of the bad choices they make. I pray that they continue to see it that way, and stay as far away from the awfulness as they can.

Have a great day in the sewing room!

THanks - I did!

One more thing, just for another way of thinking - when I did coupon, I did not cut the coupons out every week. I kept the coupon circulars that came in the Sunday paper in a stack by date (the dates are listed on the very edge of the outside fold) and every week I would look at my coupon site (in my case, Southern Savers). Southern Savers lists sales for each local store and matches up coupons available, as well as where the coupons are from (Red Plum, Smartsource, etc.) and the date of the circular. So I just clipped as needed and attached to my grocery list or debit card every week. Initially I clipped and went through the motions of organizing but that quickly became tedious to me - a job in itself.

I have heard of this method of organizing... And it's something I may switch to at some point... Right now, I kind of enjoy the Sunday morning clipping. I am sure that will change once spring (finallly) arrives and it's beautiful outside. :rolleyes1

My limit is also 2 grocery stores - and usually it's just one! I go to Publix on my way home from work once a week. The difference between them and the only grocery story in my town is like night and day. I love Publix!

I have heard that about Publix... We don't have any around here. And to be honest - I really dislike shopping at our grocery store. You'd never guess it, but the grocery store prices are way more expensive than Target, and it just feels more frantic to me.

I have been enjoying all the talk about budgeting! I started doing a Dave Ramsey-style budget about 25 years ago and I still have it to this day (I "tweak" it about every 2 years, or if we have a life-changing event.) It brought great security to those lean years, as well as now as we approach retirement. The only thing I have ever regretted even a little was not having the money for real vacations, so my girls did not have the Disney experience as children. But it was a decision that we made as a family and don't get me wrong, we had fun time together, but never too far away from home. Now that they are married, and grand-parenthood is approaching (the first one is due in May!), I intend to make sure that my grandchildren have that Disney experience!

Thank you for sharing this with me. I am a firm believer in budgeting - we've always been on some sort of budget - but it wasn't until the last few years that we actually had a grasp on everything that should be in the budget. LOL I don't know how we honestly survived before?

I am sorry that you didn't get Disney trips with your kids - even if by choice... but it sounds like you are going to have the financial peace to be able to give them to your grandchildren - and enjoy every moment of that! Congratulations! I hope you'll do a PTR when you get to that point, and share all the planning with us.

D, I am over the dryer story. This is so something that would have happened in our house...especially with our youngest son.

LOL I figured that many could relate.

I think your new chore outline is very reasonable so that Alli is not getting stuck with all of the big work.

I hope so, but now that it's her week, and her first week of after school sports... Her chores are lagging. I feel badly for her (as I would for V) by having so much on her plate. I figure I'll let it slide a bit this week, and next week - hopefully she will have a better handle on it.

I hope you are not getting any more bad weather. Spring really has to get here soon, doesn't it?

It sounds like Spring won't be here for another few weeks :confused3 Really super tired of snow!

I probably would have left the clothing in the car overnight, but then I always was a mean mommy too.

LOL - that was kind of my plan... But Josh couldn't stand it any longer. :rolleyes1

My kids always participated in extracurricular activities when they were in high school - marching band, sports, drama, etc. I found that they tended to work harder, or just smarter, when they had a lot on their plates. Seems like they knew their study time was limited, so they studied harder and actually got better grades. As you said above, you always work better under pressure, and so do they. They 2 older kids did both marching band and cross country in the fall, and were usually involved with the fall play too. The 2 younger ones didn't do too much with sports, but band and theater took up most of their time.

Sounds like craziness... LOL - but you know what they say about an idle mind... Yes, I agree - I work better under pressure, they may too?

I keep toys too - still have the Barbies, a set of dinosaurs, and I had the legos until my older son took them all to his new house so he could play with them....

LOL But Legos last forever... That is one thing we never got into - I wanted the girls to have them, but we just never did. :confused3

The Dopey bag is so cute!

Thanks!

I did track all through high school and discus was my field event. I wasn't very good at it though. I don't remember ever having to wear special shoes for it though and that was doing it for 4 years so I am interested in hearing what kind of shoes they say Alli should wear.

They are called "throwing shoes"... Here's the link... This is everything available on the market right now... YIKES! Not one brand makes them in girls colors - or anything suitable for girls... They would have amazing sales if they did. http://www.eastbay.com/Throwing-Shoes/_-_/N-cj/keyword-throwing+shoes?cm_REF=Throwing+Shoes

D~ I am still soooooo far behind on this thread, but somehow I ended up coming to your current post (which of course means I lost where I left off reading.) i absolutely LOVE the dopey bag!

No worries... It happens all the time - I totally understand. Thank you for the nice compliments on my bag though.

Doopy is awesome!

Thanks Ariana!

Love Dopey....and I have some of that fabric too...have no idea what I will do with it!

Nini

I just love that fabric... Unfortunately - like most Disney fabric, it wasn't printed on the grain, so I kind of had to chop it up to find usable pieces. :rolleyes1

Dopey is SO CUTE!!! Another brilliant D~ creation!

Thanks Oopsi!

What a great bag - brilliant as always!

Thank you!

Your Dopey bag is amazing!!!

Thanks!

OMG The new Dopey bag is amazing!!! So cute!!!

Thanks Sandra!

I just love his expression! And the colors all work so great together....it's a winner

Thanks Suzi!

can't seem to keep caught up....the Jessie and dopey bags turned out cute! good luck to Alli with track....my rule of thumb with Megan is you do extra curricular activities your grades can't suffer and I don't want any attitude either if you are tired...she has zero period Jazz choir at 7am Mon & Wed and 3 hours of dance Mon and Wed so they are very long days for her, so far she's been doing great with juggling everything!

Thank you Lisa!

Megan's schedule sounds crazy too... I just don't get how parents keep up with it all? LOL I am not sure I could.

I am totally loving the new bag. It is my new favorite.

Thanks Chiara.

LOVE DOPEY! Awesmoe awesome awesome.
Dryer=

Coupon shopping

Chores

Love it all!

Thanks Erin!

**********************************************************

Clearly - as you can see above - I was able to get a lot done yesterday. I am very happy that I finished my auction bag... I really wanted it to be a set, but I couldn't find anything to put on the wallet... after weeks of searching, I finally gave up and decided to go with nothing. It really pained me to do it - but if I can't do something great, I'd rather do nothing at all.

Once that was finished... I took a few minutes to clean my sewing room disaster... It was bad - very bad. It feels so much better up there now, unfortunately, my fabric situation is a bit out of control... :rolleyes1 I have 2 empty shelves in the upstairs hallway - I am thinking I may confiscate those until after our trip and I splurge on a bigger shelf for my sewing room. Because as it is, my fabric is taking over.

Then I started on my Big Auction bags... Technically, I had Victoria's bag scheduled this week, but like I said yesterday - if this big auction doesn't happen, then our trip won't happen, and we'll have no use for any bags... So, I've decided to play it smart and begin work on these. The theme this time around is super fun... I've had a lot of these ideas for a long time, so I am very excited to be able to start creating them. :thumbsup2 My last big auction was based on the Fab 5 and just a basic bag... This time- I am not telling the theme yet, but these will NOT be just basic bags... The appliques will be much bigger and in some cases many more of them... There will be some fun 3-D effects, as well. The colors will be amazing and the fabrics I've chosen - well - I am just very excited! They definately won't be an "entry level" bag.

So, that's about all...

I slept really horribly last night. I've actually not slept well since my surgery. I am not sure what happened, but I think it has something to do with me not being able to use my ab muscles to move myself around in bed while I am sleeping - so I used my neck muscles a lot... Well my neck has been horribly sore. It usually goes away during the day, but it would come back during the night. Now that I am able to use my ab muscles again, my neck has been much better. However, last night, I went to bed with a lymph node in the back right side of my neck swollen... I can always tell, because it presses on a nerve back there, and then I had a headache all night. Grrrr... I hate that. As soon as I get something in my stomach (I am a late breakfast eater), I will take some Tylenol, hopefully that will take care of the headache situation.

I also work at Target today... Yay? Not sure... We'll see if things go better this time around?

I hope you all have a wonderful day today. :flower3:

D~

I think your Dopey bag is my absolute favorite! The pocket with the rickrack is amazing!! Do you order your long pull zippers from Etsy?

I'm sorry you didnt sleep well.. YOU HAVE GOT to get better!!!
maybe you can dream better with some... DA DA DA DA:

I hope you get better soon so you can get a good night sleep.

The Dopey bag is great :)

Love the Dopey bag, as well as everything else you've ever done. :goodvibes You are so talented!

I was reminded of you this morning - there is a chance - just a chance - of snow flurries or wintry mix where I live in GA early Friday morning, and we are all a-twitter about the possibility. And there you are dealing with drifts of the stuff. :rotfl: We Southerners do panic at the thought. :lmao:

Oh my, that Dopey bag is fantastic!! I just love his expression and that familiar sleeve over the hand. Perfect! Glad you were able to get it finished so you can move on to the next one. Do you ever get tired of doing the bags?

Uh, ladies, it IS officially Spring!! The calendar says so and the calendar wouldn't lie, would it?:rolleyes1

D~ I hope you have a good day at Target and they treat you as you need to be treated. ::yes::

I work better under pressure too... Unfortunatly, my pressure is always a result of my procrastination. :scratchin
Same here except I don't know if I work BETTER under pressure or that is just the ONLY way I work. ;)

Glad Josh was able to get the girls home safe and sounds and you didn't have to venture out. Love your idea of sentences as punishment and what a good way to get a good laugh when you look back at those notebooks.

I made it in track about two weeks. :rotfl: They wanted me to do hurdles because I have long legs but that was a disaster because I have no coordination whatsoever.

:thumbsup2

I first came up with the idea for this bag about a year ago - right after we returned from our Disney trip. This was one of those bags that I "dreamed" about... Some of you know that the bags that I dream of, are perhaps my most unique/odd bags. It seems that people really love them or really don't.

When I dream of a bag, sometimes what I create isn't exactly what I'd envisioned - this one is pretty close, but I struggled with many aspects of it.

First of all - the likeness of the hill above the Mine entrance/exit - I wanted to give it some sort of definition, it wasn't until I was assembling the bag, that I inserted the Ric-rac to give the "illusion" of flowers growing on top of the hill.

I also really struggled with the "sky"... a few people received texts from me... Should I do green to represent another hill? Should I do blue to represent the sky? In the end - Mo told me that she liked the sky the best... So, I went for it and did the sky. She was right - I think the contrast is good there... And she saved me from quilting another green piece at the last minute. :thumbsup2

The Mine, the cart and the rails are all my original drawings... I could not find what I was looking for - so I had to improvise and create my own... It still isn't exactly my vision - but it's close.

The interior fabric is really what inspired this bag... The minute I saw it - I k new I had to use it for something... It wasn't long after that I dreamed about this bag.

So, this bag is definately one of a kind. :thumbsup2 Enjoy!

:faint: Oh my! This bag is the best. Your sneak peeks were killing me because I had no idea what the theme was. I really like the blue sky and I love the arched detail. But that Dopey applique is out of this world amazing. All that detailed stitching around the satin stitches and on his "shirt". :worship:

Love Dopey....and I have some of that fabric too...have no idea what I will do with it!

Nini
Ditto.

Now, Mo, please stop trying to fill D~s head with Channing Tatum or she won't be able to dream about Dopey and other fabulous ideas for her bags. ;)

I wonder if Cheryl has returned from her trip yet. :upsidedow

trying to get a Channing tatum bag!!! HA HA :rotfl:

I'm always filling her head with new ideas for bags.

I've had a rough patch here the past week or so, but it's nice to be back on the DIS.

I read about the dryer incident on Facebook and laughed so much DH wondered what was up....he didn't get it.:confused3

BFFs are supposed to set limits for friends who need it. My oldest friend in the world is a little high maintenance, so when my DH's best friend started dating her, I wrote him up a care and feeding list. Like: No coffee after 9pm, 2 degree temperature zone (76-78)...she told me a couple of weeks ago that he still has it and it still applies.

I completely understand, Mrs. Bradbury....we're on spring break around here - imagine what we're going through with the thought of the possibilities of wintery mixes. Panic reigns in AL!

I like the Dopey bag & the addition of rick-rack defines the top of the hill nicely. DH really liked the Jesse bag (and he cries every time at "When She Loved Me" so I think that's high praise.)

Good luck with Ali's shot put balancing. I went to a performing arts high school so my whole day was extra-curricular. But I also lived 4 blocks from school, so driving to and from was not an issue.

Hope you start sleeping better soon.

Great you got so much done in you sewing room!

Can't wait to see what the next set of bags are and how much money I'll probably be out!!!! :rotfl2:

Hope you have a great day!!

Dopey is amazing. No wonder you can't sleep with D~signs floating in your head like that for a year HAHA

Seriously, I had my second laparotomy (in past 3 mos) around the same time as you and have not really been sleeping more than 4 hours a nite. Granted I do have some other things going on but really.........

The last thing I remember before anesthesia set in was telling the docs to go around my bellybutton ~ THANK YOU. One bikini cut from the 1st and one up and down the 2nd. Peace sign? or as family lovingly joked I have a bum on both sides. Nice huh!!

So much sewing going on I can see I may have a chance to try and get a bag before my trip in October as long as all goes as planned. Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for next ideas.

Last thought: I love snow and snowmen a lot. However, I think I am done for the year but mother nature has been contrary!!

I think your Dopey bag is my absolute favorite! The pocket with the rickrack is amazing!! Do you order your long pull zippers from Etsy?

Thanks... I think it turned out pretty good... There are parts of it that I love and parts of it that I am kind of "meh" about, but for the most part - the whole "feeling" of the bag is what I wanted to convey.

The zippers depend on where I am at... I have ordered some of them off of Ebay, I've purchased them at JoAnn's, Hancocks... The long pull zippers are kind of hard to find.

I'm sorry you didnt sleep well.. YOU HAVE GOT to get better!!!

LOL Mo... I am better... I just have a sore neck. This morning, my neck is't optimal, but it's the best it's been. I can't believe it's been a month since my surgery yet and I am still not 100%... Very close, but still not there. At least, I have not had ANY stomach pain in that time - so I am very hopefull that my gallbladder was the culprit.

maybe you can dream better with some... DA DA DA DA:
channing-tatumyum_zps8c9c1e4b.jpeg

Yes ladies more Channing Tatum.. HA HA HA again can't bring myself to make it smaller...

YOu are going to get my post deleted off the Dis... All for a worthy cause, right. ::yes::

I love the dopey bag, he is just too darn cute!!! i do like the blue. broke up the green.

I agree... I totally think that Dopey made the bag... Initially - Dopey wasn't going to be on the bag at all - but I am glad I decided to add him... He looks pretty cute there.

How are the kiddos?!?! hopefully they are feeling better too???

They are doing well... How about yours? How is Matt's toe doing?

Love the savings and i'm about to go to the sites you offered up!!!

Cool - I hope you found something.

Not doing much at work today anyhow... Shocking?? I have got to catch up on everyone's trip reports now...

Glad you got some play time at work yesterday. :thumbsup2

Happy Spring!!!

th_wdw_spring_021306_zpsc8e6c35a.jpg

Thanks - You too... Even though it doesn't feel much like it... :crazy2:

The Dopey bag is adorable. I especially like the inside fabric.

Thanks Tink! I love that inside fabric too!

I hope you get better soon so you can get a good night sleep.

The Dopey bag is great

Thanks Lillian! I hope so too... I am getting there, it's just much slower than the Dr. or anyone else told me it would be. Oh well... I am so tired of complaining about it anyways. LOL

D~ Love the Dopey Bag! Hope you start sleeping better soon.

Hi Sheila! It's great to see you! Thanks! I hope so too... Soon - I can just feel it. This morning is the best I've felt... Neck still sore, but not as bad as it has been.

See, now you've gone and done it again - please give details, that sounds amazing!!!

OK - now this one, I am going to have to type up, because I have no idea if it's even online...

1 or 2 rolls of crescent rolls (depending on how big your family is)
1 box of plain cream cheese (you won't use all of it if you only do one roll of crescents)
1 bag mozzarella
Itallian seasoning

"Home made spaghetti sauce"... This I just wing it... If you have a sauce you normally make when you do spaghetti, you can use that. Otherwise, I just do something like this:

1 lb ground beef/pork
2 jars spaghetti sauce (whatever flavor/brand - you could do one jar if only one roll of crescents)
Chopped veggies (onions, green peppers, fresh mushrooms)

I like to pull the cream cheese out of the fridge an hour or so ahead of time, so that is softens a bit before spreading. OK... Soooo.... Warm the oven to whatever the package for the crescents says... Unroll the crescents, spread them with cream cheese, sprinkle Itallian seasoning on top, then sprinkle with a bit of mozz (you don't need much, because not much will fit) - roll them up (I try to close the ends if I can, so the cheese doesn't melt out) and line them on a cookie sheet. When you are done - bake according to package directions.

While those are baking, cook the ground beef/sauce.

Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray (you can use a smaller pan, if you only use one pkg of crescents), and pour the hot/finished sauce in. Then, line the top of the pan with the cooked crescents - sprinkle with mozzarella and sometimes I sprinkle with parmesan too. Put in the hot oven for maybe another 10 minutes, enough to melt the cheese on top.

And that's it... My family loves this dish.

Love the Dopey bag, as well as everything else you've ever done. You are so talented!

Thank you so much!

was reminded of you this morning - there is a chance - just a chance - of snow flurries or wintry mix where I live in GA early Friday morning, and we are all a-twitter about the possibility. And there you are dealing with drifts of the stuff. We Southerners do panic at the thought.

LOL... YOu make it sound like drivng in the snow makes me talented. I often take pictures with my phone if the roads are really bad, especially if I am on my way to work, because people just laugh when I tell them that the roads were awful (they drive from town, I live out of town). I wonder if I have any in my Photobucket??? Ooh - I do, from the day last week when I had to cancel V's appointment due to the roads... (don't mind my dusty dash... I don't Armor All my car in the winter... too darned cold to stand out there to try to do it)...

20130304_100206.jpg

I have heard that even the sight of flurries closes down the southern states, I can't imagine... NOTHING would ever get accomplished up here. LOL Hopefully you didn't get much snow and things went as they should.

Oh my, that Dopey bag is fantastic!! I just love his expression and that familiar sleeve over the hand. Perfect! Glad you were able to get it finished so you can move on to the next one. Do you ever get tired of doing the bags?

Thanks Lois...

Not really... I get tired of doing certain characters, but the bags themselves, not too much. I try to keep them a little different and interesting. If I didn't have all the people here cheering me on all the time, I'd probably tire of doing them... But I love that people love them, and I love that the people that have them want more, and all of that just keeps me going. :lovestruc

Uh, ladies, it IS officially Spring!! The calendar says so and the calendar wouldn't lie, would it?

Not seeing any signs of spring here... :crazy2:

D~ I hope you have a good day at Target and they treat you as you need to be treated.

Thanks - for the most part, it was a good day.

Same here except I don't know if I work BETTER under pressure or that is just the ONLY way I work.

LOL Interesting thought to ponder...

Glad Josh was able to get the girls home safe and sounds and you didn't have to venture out.

Me too!

Love your idea of sentences as punishment and what a good way to get a good laugh when you look back at those notebooks.

I think Allison still has all of hers? LOL I remember laughing at them with her not too long ago... Every once in a while, we will run across a notebook with a few pages of sentences in it... Good times. ::yes::

Oh my! This bag is the best. Your sneak peeks were killing me because I had no idea what the theme was. I really like the blue sky and I love the arched detail. But that Dopey applique is out of this world amazing. All that detailed stitching around the satin stitches and on his "shirt".

Thanks Liz... Dopey turned out really good, IMO - He looks so happy to be there.

Now, Mo, please stop trying to fill D~s head with Channing Tatum or she won't be able to dream about Dopey and other fabulous ideas for her bags.

Two seperate dreams, trust me.

I wonder if Cheryl has returned from her trip yet.

I think Cheryl is always on a trip... I should tell her that the house next door is available again...

trying to get a Channing tatum bag!!! HA HA

Won't you crap when I actually make one?

I'm always filling her head with new ideas for bags.

That you are. :worship:

I've had a rough patch here the past week or so, but it's nice to be back on the DIS.

Oh no Ruth... What happened?

I read about the dryer incident on Facebook and laughed so much DH wondered what was up....he didn't get it.

I think a lot of people took great joy from that post. :thumbsup2

LOL - that is too funny! Hmmm... I wonder what would need to be on my list? :scratchin

I completely understand, Mrs. Bradbury....we're on spring break around here - imagine what we're going through with the thought of the possibilities of wintery mixes. Panic reigns in AL!

You all are too funny!

I like the Dopey bag & the addition of rick-rack defines the top of the hill nicely. DH really liked the Jesse bag (and he cries every time at "When She Loved Me" so I think that's high praise.)

Thanks! And tell DH thanks too! That scene always makes me cry... I love all the Toy Story movies they are all so meaningful.

Good luck with Ali's shot put balancing. I went to a performing arts high school so my whole day was extra-curricular. But I also lived 4 blocks from school, so driving to and from was not an issue.

That sounds like a fun school!

Yah - last night Alli came home and said that all of her practices next week START at 7pm and go until 9pm. EEK!!!! Don't they understand that we go to bed at 8pm (sometimes before)... I don't know how we are going to survive that??? YIKES!

Hope you start sleeping better soon.

Great you got so much done in you sewing room!

Can't wait to see what the next set of bags are and how much money I'll probably be out!!!!

Thanks Sandra... I hope so too, it's gonna be soon - I can feel it! I am super excited about these big auction bags... I am going to have to work like a crazy person over the next 3 months, but I have some big ideas - and they are all playing bumper cars in my mind. :crowded: I am pretty sure there will be lots of people going crazy over these bags! Myself included... I am quite sure I will want to keep them all. ::yes::

**********************************************************

Soooo.... Yesterday was boring... Like every day I work at Target. They were good to me though, and all I had to do aaaaall daaaaay looooong was Ad Prep. Now, it's been about 2 years since I had done this, and a lot has changed in that time. :crazy2: Corporate used to send them all nice and organized, well, somtime in the last few years, they stopped doing that... So, every single sign has to be scanned and organized by aisle, then by 4 foot section with in that aisle... Yah - sucky. But, it didn't reqiure any bending/lifting/reaching... So it was all good with me. Boring though - that's for sure.

After work - I had 2 hours to kill before I had to pick up Alli... So, I ran out to my car and grabbed my coupon binder... Figured I'd scope out the good deals. I didn't find much of anything, but I killed a good hour +.

Then, I went and sat in the High School parkinglot and hung out on my phone for a while, until Alli came out.

We came home, Josh had pizzas cooked and ready for dinner - such a nice guy. :lovestruc

We all watched some Pawn Stars for a while... Then we went to bed.

B.O.R.I.N.G.

Today... Well, I am going to finish quilting my first big auction bag. I also hope to get started on the applique.

It is also auction day for the Dopey bag... So, I am anxious to get that listed this morning. I was hoping V would have some lanyards for me today, I reminded her this weekend - but no luck. :(

Alli has her last choir concert tonight (it's a reschedule from a bad weather night a few weeks ago)...

Oh and RuthIE & Ruth... I am missing 2 of my Ruths/Ruthies... Where are you?

And that's about all. I hope you all have an amazing day today!

D~

hope your better today!
Yes i would lose it if you made one.. Just the boys of Disney!!! :woohoo: Glad everyone is getting over the weird bug!!! going to facebook now!!

Matt is a nut just posted in my train wreck of a report on him.

Went to Dr # 1 Mon and got a pain med that didn't make me sick FINALLY, makes me sleepy so thats where I've been sleeping most of the time :cheer2:
off and on for the past 72 hrs pretty much (probably got more sleep since end of Jan)

This evening I go for 2 MRIs because of the pain in hip and right leg and still hard to walk

I caught up with reading love your Dopey bag esp like someone else said the way you nailed the hanging sleeve & loved the sky/hills effect CUTE

I had to laugh, people in south panic at the MENTION of snow, they don't even have to see a snowflake.

I've been debating on bidding on the Dopey bag (I LOVE it!) or waiting to see what your next auction holds.... I did place a bid, but I have a limit, so we will see what happens.

I have been super busy for the last month - prepping for my trip, trying to get all the work off my desk before I left, then coming back to a long list of emails and stack of plans. On top of that, I was out of the office on Thursday and Friday for Excel training....

This week has been our annual Agricultural Awards Banquet - I'm on the Board, our monthly County Planning Commission meeting, which I had to attend (it snowed enough to cover the roads), and our monthly borough PC meeting, which was the same night as the County meeting, so I missed it.

Hopefully tomorrow, I will have time to breathe....

Oh, I forgot to mention.... My oldest dd was selected to sing the National Anthem at an Orioles baseball game in May! We are so excited for her. Also, my youngest dd's play (which she wrote) opens tomorrow night in NY - off, off Broadway, but we are also so very excited for her! She's come a long way. I plan to go up next weekend to see her and the play, and if I'm lucky, my oldest dd (Kate's) goddaughter, Bailey, who is one of the girls playing the lead role in Matilda, the Musical on Broadway.

Okay, I gave up on trying to catch up. I lost (again) what page I was on. I am picking up from here. :confused3 Hope that's not ridiculous. I really love the Dopey bag. I brought DH in to take a look last night & asked him my bidding limit. (since I am not working at the moment).

I hope Alli does well at track!

Any hints for your big auction theme? :hyper: I'm trying to decide whether to try for one of your custom spots next week so I can get a bag for my Cousin or just wait till the big auction. She just told me that she and her fiance are getting married while we are in Disney next February!!! That's going to make for an awesome TR I think.

Being a northern transplant living in the south, I get such a kick out of the panic down here when they call for snow. We had a two hour delay for work one time because they said it was going to snow. It never actually did anything but I sure enjoyed sleeping in a bit. Granted, when it does snow I still don't go out. I can drive in snow but there are quite a few people from this area that think they can drive in it and I want to avoid them!
