Wow, just wow! That is one gorgeous bag! And some major pixie dust! I've been following Callie's PTR and she is so nice and loves all the BG items everyone sent, so it is really nice to see her get some love as well. I love the GACs too. I think the insides are just as pretty as the outsides too. I always love the fabrics you choose for your items.

Those puffy pants are too cute! I love the chenille blanket too. I may just have to make one of those for our neighbour who is due in April. And maybe a second one if our friends end up having another one. In fact, I better go back and bookmark that before I forget!

Hey Loree!!!!!!! I haven't seen you in AGES!!! How are you? Thanks for all the love over my Pixie Dust for Callie... I had so much fun making it - and I was so glad that she loved it.

Yes, you should make one... I also want to make another pair of puffy pants, but I have no idea what fabric to make them with? I have just enough fabric for one of those chenielle quilts, then I also have enough fabric that I can make a 1 yd x 1 yd flannel blanket... Then I also have a bunch of misc fabric left - so I am just not sure what to make with all of it? I want to get the quilt and blanket done first before I do anything else, because I want to make sure I have enough for that.

I just subscribed as I followed along with a previous TR But I have one quick question that I can not find the answer to !!! If I see something I like, is it possible to buy it? Right now, I'm putting off dinner trying to answer my own question !! You do amazing work and look forward to your creations!!!

Hope you made it through the winter storm okay. We were supposed to get an ice storm. Haven't looked outside yet...so don't know how bad it got. Went to bed at 9PM last night, plus had a 1/2 hour nap during the day. This cold is really hanging on!

Hi Lois! Well, we did get freezing rain, then snow on top of it. All of the shools around us are closed or have late starts - except for ours. I hate it when this happens, because many of the closed schools overlap boundries with ours - so ours really should be closed or delayed, but they never do. Then I am a nervous wreck, because I don't feel safe sending my girls... It's so frustrating.

Loved the baby pants you made! You gave them that special D~ flair, which totally made the cute factor soar! It is so amazing how tiny these things are, then when they wear them, they're swimming in them! At least for a short time. Have fun with the blanket!

Don't feel guilty about getting along better over your Mom's passing. It would be terrible to feel that agonizing devastation forever. Your Mom certainly wouldn't want you to feel that way! My brother died when he was 18 and I was 21. That was devastating to me as we were very close. I think of him often and wonder who he would have become, and there is an emptiness that remains, but the pain is not as sharp as it was, and I think that's God's way of helping you live your life to the fullest. I'm sorry this time of year is difficult for you and I hope you find comfort in spending time with your family. (I know you do!)

My DD and her family left yesterday, so it's pretty quiet around here. But I have lots to do since I didn't do any housework while they were here. I'm feeling sufficiently better to get some things done now. Oh joy! Oh! And I did finish the Forgotten Garden and loved it! Thanks for the recommendation. The next one by Kate Morton is Distant Hours. Have you read that one? Those were the only two my library had.

I am sorry that your family left, I am sure that it's wonderful having them them, but I am also sure that it's nice to have your space back again.

Yesterday was the laziest day ever.

I wasn't feeling well from the night before. I didn't have a lot to drink - however, one of the drinks I had did not sit right with me, so I was dealing with my stomach pain half the night, then heart burn all day yesterday. So, we all just layed around in the livingroom all day and watched TV... We were such sloths, but it was nice.

Then last night, Josh braved the freezing rain/snow and grilled burgers out on the deck... Num! We don't usually do "summer food" much in the winter, so it really hit the spot... He also made home made french fries. Super good - I love that Josh can cook, and cook very well - I might add.

I am starting my next bag order this morning. It is for a local Diser that I have known for a long time, but we have never met... We were at WDW together in March - and even in some of the same parks on the same days, but we just couldn't coordinate a Dismeet. We also live less than 50 miles from each other, but we have yet to meet at home either. LOL So, we have arranged to meet personally, rather than me mailing the bag.

I am a bit nervous for the girls to go to school today... The roads are quite bad, and I just hate when every school surrounding ours is late or closed and our school is right on time. You would think that they would take other schools decisions into consideration? Especially when their bounderies over lap in our town... Drives me almost over the edge, and I wish they had a little more consideration for the safety of their students. I get that it's probably pretty safe to drive in town right now, but out here - it is not, and I think they tend to forget that sometimes. I just try not to think too much about it, and hope the girls are safer riding the bus rather than me driving them on days like this...

I will be home sewing all day. I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Which worked out great for my kids the time there was a main water line break in one city...the whole city and part of the county were without water, so the whole county took an extra day for the weekend...

On a serious note I understand so well about life after someone dies Especially when I reflect on the fact that I have more relatives now in heaven than here with us happens as wewe get older Daddy passed away 13 years ago this coming July I was never closer to another human being I went through all the classical stages of grie( probably 100s of times oh was I mad at him not that he left but for things he kept putting off 'yeah we'll have to do that ' anyway Sundays for me are still hard being from a traditional Italian family your butt was at the table or you better be on the phone When I moved here 6 yrs ago it tore my heart that I wouldn't be visiting the cemetary That would have made him mad ! He never vis8td cemetaries EVER saying that the person isn't there He's right life goes on & should..with joy and every now and then I swear I get just the faintest whiff of Old Spice aftershave in the
air ;-)

I had some sort of sad news yesterday. A long time friend of ours passed away Sunday. He was diagnosed with Alzheimers in his 50s and has been going downhill ever since. I say sort of bad news because with Alzheimers, the person you know and love has not been there for some time. I'm rejoicing that he is finally free of his prison here on earth. And so is my dear friend, his wife.

Sorry for the downer vibe. I hope you got lots done in your sewing room yesterday. I will find the auction through your fb page. Thanks. I wish ours were done by county, but they are determined by... Drum roll... The lunch lady. No joke. What happens is this... Weather is bad - the school administration is thinking of closing - they call the lunch lady to see if the meal for the day can be saved - if it can, they will close school. If it can't, they will either do a 2 hour delay (to hopefully give the roads a chance to clear) or they will do an early release. Pretty sad, eh?

Schools are always closed by district - and basically each city is a district... Or in the case of ours, the nearest biggest city is the district, but it serves all the little towns surrounding it - I think we have about 6 small towns in our district, along with the city the schools are in.

Due to us living in a very snowy/cold climate - school closings are frequent and the days off are actually built into our school calendars - so depending on how many days they have to call off school, they extend our school days in June to make up for it... On average - I think that they build 5 days into our calendars, anything above and beyond that has to be made up in June.

I am sorry for your loss Ruthie - I can't imagine how hard that was for you.

When my mom died, it was expected - not that it made it any easier, I think it may have been harder for me, because my family had been "grooming" me for her death my whole life - so I chose not to be close to her, because I didn't want it to hurt when she died. One of the worst sub-conscious decisions I've ever made, and I've regretted it my whole life. But I was a kid - how was I supposed to know? My dad and brother, OTOH... I just can't even think about that, I don't do well with death in the first place...

I know... They are so little, aren't they? I just love making baby items - they are soooo cute. They are some of the most favorite things I have ever made... Although - this is my first time ever sewing for a boy, everything I have ever made before is for girls - and I think I have only made 2 outfits. Let's see if I can dig up some pictures in my photobucket account... Some of you will remember these from the Disbou thread.

This was the first outfit I did... It went over to The Netherlands with us as a gift to my SIL's sister's little baby girl.

Then this outfit was a gift to an online friend of mine... That flower applique on that little white tee was my first applique ever.

I know - don't burgers sound heavenly??? He did something different with these, and mixed in a bunch of stuff (onion, green peppers, cheese, bacon... who knows what else?) They were so delicious!

I am so very sorry for your loss Lois, but I agree with you, Alzheimers is a horrible, horrible disease. Alzheimers and dimentia actually runs in Josh's family... Both of his grandparents suffered from them... His grandmother lived with Alzheimers for well over 12 years, and it was just an awful, awful thing to watch. It was such a relief to many when she passed, because it was just so long and hard for everyone. Both of his grandparents were such vibrant and wonderful people, and it was such a horrible thing to have to happen to them. So, I understand your feelings.

No one is ever a downer here - we are all friends.

Snow days are an every year thing here, we have them built right into our school calendar - I believe we get 5 days per year, anything above that has to be made up in June. You can read more above when I replied to Nini - I was a bit more detailed about it up there.

I was so busy in my sewing room yesterday.

I went up really early and got to work right away... I don't know what got into me, but I was on fire! WHOOT! I managed to get the entire bag cut out and fully quilted before I took lunch (granted it was a late lunch, but still...) Then, since this person ordered a simple applique - I was also able to cut out and finish the applique yesterday afternoon. So, all I have left for today is my assembly - which I hope to finish today - if not, for sure by Thursday - easy peasy.

Which means, the rest of my week will be spent on cute little baby boy items.

I also was on the phone with my bff almost all day yesterday - I haven't talked to her in a few weeks because our schedules just haven't meshed. So, it was good to chat with her, and it made my day in my sewing room go quickly.

She is planning to go up to the MOA with me on Friday morning, then we are planning to spend the day together... likely grocery shopping.

Nothing else is new or exciting.

I love all the goodies you've posted...the cute little puffy pants, the bags, etc.

I never understand why they call some schools but not all of the schools in an area for the weather. We got ice, but it wasn't bad the next mornng for work. In Iowa, Mark and Alisha got stuck spending the night Sunday 3 hours from home because they couldn't drive; Iowa doesn't salt, they sand and sand does not work on ice.

I'll try to stay up-to-date now that I'm no longer sick.

Hi Kathy... I am sorry to hear that you were so sick - you must have been fighting it for a while! I am glad that you are doing better.

Wow - stranded in Iowa??? Yikes! We had a 1' layer of ice in town yesterday morning... I had to call the plow company and ask them to come salt/sand - which, according to our contract is only done on a request basis because it's so expensive.

Finished my bag set yesterday - whoot! I hope to take a couple of photos to post this morning.

I can't decide which baby project to start on first? I am thinking that I will start on the chenielle quilt. All of my fabric is here and washed. I still have not decided if I am going to make that other blanket? I have fabric for it - but I am just not hit in the head over it. I keep seeing all this other adorable baby boy fabric - thankfully I've been able to curb my urge to buy it. I have an idea for one more quilt that I think will be soooo adorable - but I want to see how this one turns out first before I order the fabric for that one. I have spent soooo much on this little guy already, and he isn't even here yet.

Nothing else new or exciting at all.
