~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

Nice about the refund!!! I'm afraid with our taxes, first year I have made absolutely nothing in quite a while. Waiting on disability is horrible! Been fighting them for 2 years! GRR!! LOL That check is paying for my trip, and I'm in a couple weight loss groups to hopefully help with airfare.

Thanks Sandra! Oh NO!!! I hope you all are feeling better soon, and I hope you got in a nice nap yesterday.

**********************************************************

Yesterday was kind of nuts here...

At about 9am, Josh decided it was tax day. Which means... I had to get all of my business tax stuff ready. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but it did take us a few hours to get it all sorted. Thankfully Josh helped me with all of it. :lovestruc It looks like we will be getting a bit of a refund. I am hoping to get a little out of the deal, and hopefully enough to pay for airfare... As a conscession - I would be willing to give Josh enough for a few things he's been wanting for his Jeep. The rest would go towards the house and bills. All in good fun.

I was able to package up all of my order from the auction and my Eeyore bag... All of which will be going out in the mail on Tues (Yikes - I forgot that Monday was a holiday).

I also started on my next order... This one needs to be done asap - as this person leaves for WDW in less than 2 weeks... I hope to have it out the door and in the mail by Tues... Wed at the absolute latest. Which means, I will be spending some time in my sewing room today.

Nothing else exciting or fun going on at the moment. I hope you all have a fantastic day!

D~

I did get in a pretty good nap yesterday then another sleep in morning today. Starting to feel a little more normal today.

Good luck on finishing up the bag.

I had to go to my computer to check out the Eeyore bag with bigger pictures and it is amazing. I love the rain and the zipper pull is PERFECT. Such a great job with a character that was probably not easy to come up with something fun. Great idea, as usual.

The fast pass plus stuff is stressing me out. I am crossing my fingers that it doesn't get implemented by next week but I think I am pretty safe on that one. I would really hate for the ability to get fastpasses while in the park doesn't go away. I am waiting to hear the official word from Disney. Worrying about it won't change it. Thanks Nini for passing along the info about FP+.

It must be nice to have your taxes all done. Hope you are enjoying your weekend. My kids are off tomorrow and so is my DH. I think I will be busy doing laundry and finishing up some sewing. I will try to take pictures tomorrow of the dress I made, hopefully the sun will be out.

Hey Cheryl - your trip sounds like fun. I'm glad your DS can join you and I am sure you two will enjoy the Poly. So close to the action! I hope you have time to make a new UPPB before your trip. :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder. I totally forgot that you could take the boat from Ft. Wilderness to MK.

D~ Can't wait to see your new bag. I'm so impressed that you got so much done on your auction bag. Your restaurant choices sound great and yummy.

I didn't know you could take a boat :( oh well we came from Epcot by bus and were late. heading home we took a bus to the front and got a cab I needed V back to the resort asap for her late swim and then bed.
oh well.

I had another idea on your park bags for this trip...or any trip. How about a Port Orleans set?? You could do the sea serpent pool, the rod iron horse heads, the waterwheel at riverside, one of the mansions, or the creepy parade floats from Sassagoula :) Lots of options for your favorite resort.

Ba ha ha creepy parade floats so as of 4:30 PM yesterday our Disney Trip is ON! and my boss was talking to V about where to stay she mentioned Port Orleans again and V wants French Quarter and her mom knew I preferred Riverside but V wanted French Quarter so I told my boss to tell V we would go over to swim at FQ and V still wanted FQ. So I told my boss well I'll try hard to convince her otherwise but I'd really rather not stay there, the theming creeps me out!!!!! The jesters and clowns totally give me the willies and I am not scared of clowns lol.

No trip planning news to report - except hours were released yesterday. I did get an email from Touring Plans that a few of the crowd predictions had changed, but I compared them to our planned schedule and the changes didn't affect us at all. I do need to go and look at the EMHs though and see how that works out, and if our plans coincide with any of those.

I am very excited to be making our ADRs in a few short weeks... However - I hope that the website is back to being somewhat hassle free by then. It's been better this last week, but I am still a bit aprehensive. There are a few ADRs that I am banking on that +10 day rule on. :surfweb:

I hope all of you have a wonderful day today!

D~

I have 3 weeks or less and I haven't got a clue what we are doing. I am feeling the ADR PANIC! I need a ressie for BOG I'm thinking that is the +10 day one you're thinking of lol

I hope V is on the upswing and feeling better today!

I hear ya on the ADRs and the website. I have been playing around with it here and there to see how the reservations are going for dining. Obviously I never get to the "end" to actually book anything, so I'm not sure if they are still having a lot of glitches. I do know I still cannot see all four reservations on the new site, but I can log into and view all my reservations and details by going back over to the old site (if you don't know how to get there, go to the new site, then scroll down to the bottom of the page where the site map listings are. Click on order customized maps under my disney experience and it takes you to the old site where you can view your reservations). It doesn't seem to allow you to make them there though...it bounces you back to the new site, but at least I can see my ressies and know they are there!

I would love to see your auction pages...can you PM me the links (or put them on the FB page)? Thanks! Oh, one last question...I have not subscribed to TP (I think I may have done TGM once...or maybe just thought about it...I can't remember). Do you feel it's worth it?

i didn't know there was a new website eek i'm getting nervous now~

LOVE the Tigger Bag!!!!
It just makes it so much harder to choose!

V did a great job on the lanyards!!! I may have to get one for V!!

So Glad V is feeling better!

Ah the Eeyore bag is freaking adorable!

I loved the Eyeore bag it is adorable. So so cute.

I am reading about the FPP system. I am a bit annoyed though that the AP holders seem to always be the last to be accomodated and there is so little information.

Thanks Chiara! :) Yah - I wouldn't stress about it yet, I think there is lots that we just don't know, and won't know until it's officially released.

Loved the Eyeore bag! I am glad you are learning about the Fastpass+...I need to start doing some research on it too...I think it will seriously impact the way we tour too.

Thanks Lynn! :) I don't think the impact is going to be as bad as everyone is predicting though.

I did get in a pretty good nap yesterday then another sleep in morning today. Starting to feel a little more normal today.

I wouldn't let it stress you out yet - I don't think that anything will be implimented until well after you've been there and gone.

Taxes aren't totally done... Just the hard parts are done. LOL I am still waiting on my tax papers from the City - then we are done and we can file.

I hope to see pictures! LMK when you post them. :thumbsup2

I didn't either... So, it was good info.

Did you ever walk up to FQ? The pictures make it look way worse than what it actually is... It's a very nice resort to be honest - and it's in now way creepy - IMO.

I have 3 weeks or less and I haven't got a clue what we are doing. I am feeling the ADR PANIC! I need a ressie for BOG I'm thinking that is the +10 day one you're thinking of lol

Thanks! I will let you know when V gets to the point where she is taking orders again... She has one big order she is working on now - and I have no idea when she will finish it. :confused3 And she also has a few people waiting in line ahead of you. :lovestruc

Not yet for Canada might be a blessing for now its having a lot of problems

Lucky Canadians!

**********************************************************

Yesterday was kind of a lazy day... I don't think Josh ever made it out of his jammies. LOL He sat here all day and watched the Star Trek movies on TV. popcorn:: We all need days like that - so I let him do it.

I worked on and off in my sewing room... Alternating time on the computer. I managed to get a lot done, and I am very happy with it. I really set myself up to work hard over the next couple of days. I was able to get all of my appliques cut out and ready to go... So, it will be non-stop appliqueing for a day or two. This order HAS to go out by Wednesday - no later... So, I am really going to have to kick it in high gear.

Unfortunately... I have to go with Josh this afternoon to get his glasses, only because I have to stop at JoAnns and they are right next door to eachother. As long as I am there - I am going to run to Kohls to see if I can grab a new pair of Khaki pants for my Target wardrobe - the few pairs I have are really looking cruddy. Then I have to be back in time for my dentist appt this afternoon... Sigh - so I need to get into my sewing room early this morning, so I can get as much done as possible - as this day is totally wasted. :headache:

Still trying to wrap my mind around the cost of this trip - even though I have the military discount - it's still a lot more than I want to pay. It kind of frustrates me. I just don't know what to do??? I've been saving like crazy, but I am just so worried that I won't be able to save enough in time. When it's all said and done - even if we are lucky and get Free Dining, this trip will still cost us DOUBLE of what our trip cost us last year - and it's only 2 more nights! It makes me ill that Disney upped their prices THAT much. But I guess they have to pay for the new FLE somehow... Sigh.

I guess I will just keep saving, saving, saving. :wizard:

I hope you all have a wonderful day today! :)

Each trip to Disney is a "once in a lifetime" trip!! Your girls will never be this age again! It will all work out and you will never be sorry! The "royal room" I'm so jealous. Have a great day!

I hope you get more done in the sewing room than you first thought you would.
Disney is expensive. I hope you can save the money you need to in time for your trip.

Lazy days are always nice!

Hope you had success in your shopping and in getting your latest projects done.

Everything is more expensive these days. I just try not to think to about it and our trip shouldn't cost us much. However our trip to California...OUCH!! :rotfl: I still want to make it happen though.

Hope you had a wonderful day. Off to take advantage of my day at home and slam out a few more trip report entries! :)

I didn't get as much done as I wanted to in the morning - but I went back up later and worked some more. :thumbsup2

I really hope so too... If I don't... It will turn into a reeeeaaaalllllyyyy long trip the summer of 2014 - LOL But I don't want to wait that long. ::yes::

I know... She is going soon... Just a couple of months.

Lazy days are always nice!

Hope you had success in your shopping and in getting your latest projects done.

I did have some success. :thumbsup2

I know - it's so frustrating to me. Not that Disney is ever affordable, but I keep comparing everything to our trip last year - and we just got the most fabulous deal... I need to quit doing that.

Hope you had a wonderful day. Off to take advantage of my day at home and slam out a few more trip report entries! :)

Yay! I will try to remember to go look - I have a really full plate today and tomorrow.

**********************************************************

I worked in my sewing room until 10am yesterday, so I got in a few good hours. :scratchin Sadly, I only completed part of one applique. I did go back up while Josh was making dinner though - and I finished it. ::yes::

Josh and I went to pick up his glasses - that man has more pairs of glasses... Oh well. And he is due for another exam in a few weeks - which means another new pair of glasses. Love FSA - but :crazy2:

Then we stopped at Joanns for a few things. I have yet to be able to find an online retailer that sells Gutermann thread in bulk - then I would NEVER have to take another trip to Joanns again. However, I did find some of the most adorable Minnie and Mickey black and white fabric... So, I did get some. :thumbsup2

Then we ran to Kohls to look for a new pair of work pants for me - I found NOTHING... Grrr... now I don't know where to look. :confused3 However - Josh ended up with 4 new sweater vests, and 6 new mock turtle necks - then I found Alli 2 new pairs of sweat pants for gym (which she didn't like... Story of my life... :crazy2:)... Anyways... All of that for $49. Not too bad.

We came home, I had to run to my dentist appt - but I really wanted to nap. I chose to be an adult and go to my dentist appt - thankfully it was just a quick check to see if the work they had done in Dec was helping - and it was. YAY!

Soooo... Then I got a nap. ::yes::

When I got up - Josh was making stir-fry for dinner, so I worked in my sewing room for another hour +... Made more headway... WHOOT!

After dinner, we all sat down and played Mario Kart Wii again... We love that game, but the girls kick our butts all the time, so sadly - we had to institute another rule... Everyone HAS to choose a standard kart whenever we play together. :scratchin That should make it more fair - right? :rotfl2:

Today - I have a TON of stuff I need to get in the mail - I might even have to actually drop it off at the PO??? Now that we have new hours there though - I have no idea what they are... I am not sure what I am going to do. :scratchin

Otherwise - I will be in my sewing room all day. I am really hoping to finish this one project, because it has to be gone tomorrow!

Then I am free for the rest of the week. :beach: I am not sure what I am going to work on? I could work on my auctions for Feb? :crazy2: Or I could work on my own new park bag for our trip? :lovestruc Or I could work on something for the girls for our trip? :crowded: Hmmmm... The sooner I finish this order - the sooner I can have some fun! :cool1:

*********************************************************

Trip stuff....

Are you all sick of this yet? I feel like I change my mind every other day...

I keep lamenting over the cost of this trip... I really need to bring it down somehow... Going over our finances and figuring out what I already have saved, and what I will be making over the next few months - I will barely have enough to pay for this trip. And you all know me... Our trips are paid for with CASH ONLY - never on credit at all - so it's very important for me to be able to pay for this trip on time.

With what we have booked currently... 11 nights - POR Royal Room (pool view) with OOP DDP (no tickets booked at all yet)... It's sitting at $3700 (OUCH) We still have to add tickets in there - which is +$1,000... And tips, and souveniers and airfare. :crazy2: YIKES! Seriously - who can afford that?

So, I think I need the girls to make a choice...

A) Remove 2 nights from our current reservation... That sill makes our trip 9 nights (which is still a very nice trip). By taking away those 2 nights, that would mean that we would have to also take away our WPF&M. Because we just wouldn't have time for any water parks at all. :worried: This would bring our trip down approximately to $3700 total. A $1k savings by removing 2 nights. That's pretty significant.

B) Keep the trip exactly as it is, and keep checking for military rates to become available at FQ... By switching resorts, that brings the price of the trip to roughly $4100 - still more expensive, but a bit easier to swallow.

I am quite certain, that at some point, I will have 2 totally seperate trips booked. I hope. :scratchin I plan to hold on to both of them until Disney releases their specials for that time of year, and then I will decide on the right deal for us.

Hopefully, it does end up being free DDP (and not free QSDP, and I'd have to pay for the upgrade, like the rumors are saying)... :surfweb:

So, despite our earlier aprehension about staying anywhere but FQ... It has pretty much disolved, and we are VERY MUCH looking forward to staying at POR in the RR. So, I am really hoping that there is some way we can make it a bit more budget friendly. :scratchin

Ok - I must get moving on my day - so much to accomplish... I hope you all have a fantastic day today! :lovestruc

Hey D~

I been MIA for a while. I am feeling your pain with the prices for 2013. We had decided after returning in December that we were not going back but the other day at breakfast we got to talking and really want to head back for F&W. Just about decided on October 20 to October 27, since we saw the Christmas decorations and want to see the Fall/Halloween.

Praying for a discount or FD I may check to see what AAA is offering. I could kick myself for not booking the BB.

I been trying to remember when you are going?

Hope you and your family are well.:)

We pay for our trips in cash too! We don't want debt hanging over our heads when we get home. We book what we want and as discounts come out we have them added to our trip. We also add dining at the beginning so that is paid as well. There's still lots of extra expenses, tips, dog care, photo pass, airport parking, photo pass etc but we set up "an envelope system" and fill those before we leave. It works for us and it's fun to watch out trip balance come down.
RuthIE, I don't have a ticker because I don't know how to add one! 37 more days! Time to get tip envelopes made!
Hope everyone has a great day! Ruth

We have gone every year for the past 10 years...and I have to honestly say I can't remember ever a time when we used credit to pay for a vacation of any kind. The closest we came to using credit was my husband had a gas card once that for x amount of time, if you used the gas card you got so many cents off per gallon. He used that for the gas on the trip...but that is it.

We always pay cash...of course I will admit to robbing from the grocery budget for the next month a tiny bit...
