Since Be Our Guest is new, I would do a Beauty and Beast inspired. I love the wardrobe. I think she would make a cute bag.
So excited that your trip is booked! Its nice to get to the rest of the planning. I checked the discount for our stay, ran the numbers a hundred different ways, and was interested in FQ or royal rooms, but because AoA was still cheaper and the pool looks awesome, we decided to stay there this time. We figured DD2 will really enjoy this, and when she's older she will probably enjoy those other places. Your Adr list looks good. We have eaten breakfast and dinner at CM and liked breakfast better. We have had breakfast at CRT and loved it. You'll have to let us know how you like dinner there. And I've heard great things about lunch and dinner at BoG, so we are gonna do both for our upcoming summer trip. Love your mini planner also. Last trip, that was the one thing I wish I had. All my confirmation #s were in my phone, but the cell service for us was soooo slow, I could never pull it up. Could be better with the wifi, but love your idea, and may just laminate a card with the info???
HDDR is not that difficult to get to. Just take a bus to MK, then the boat to FtW. The boat drops you off right next to Pioneer Hall. Easy peasy. And its a nice boat ride. Kinda eerie because you ride by the old River Country. Its so weird that Disney hasn't torn it down. It is just sitting there rotting away.
That's a very good mix of ADRs.
We love Sci-Fi! Not for the food, but for the atmosphere. The spinach and artichoke dip is good, but other than that, I don't like any other foods on the menu. Dh is always game for a burger, so he is set, and ds gets a kid's pizza. I do like the all you can drink Vanilla Coke. I think dh got some type of flavoring in Sprite.
I love Chefs de France! I order off the Pre-Fix menu. The ham and cheese sandwich, french onion soup and creme brulee. We've been hit or miss with Remy. I think we are batting 50/50.
I'm not a CM fan. I hope you have a great experience there!
BOG, I just loved! Did you see both my lunch and dinner review on the Adult Side of Disney's blog?
By Pain I mean because you have to get on a bus to a park, then on a bus (or boat to Fort Wilderness) and then on a bus to HDDR It was totally worth it for us, V loved it. We had the earliest seating at 5 and we were out by 6:30.
Just wondering if the clip art of the three girls wearing Mickey hats on the your planner is something you came up with or found. So cute!
Hi D, so exciting that you booked!!! Love your planning pages.
I did a split stay even on my short trip because I was so desperate to get into AoA and the logistics of moving is super easy. I had room only so I could see how packages would make it a pain, though.
I've been reading some of your p/t report, we are going around the same time as you staying at POR 8/20-8/28.
We went last year at the same time and had a great trip despite all the rain. I had our days all planned out and then DS19 decided he wanted to come with us but only for 1/2 the tripbut we were happy he decided to come but it threw a wrench in our plans since I planned 4 park days a day at TL and days off in between but he had less time to cram in and did'nt want to do MK which of course I had planned for the days he was there. So I'm going to attempt to plan our days for this trip and wait and see what he decides.
We love to have days off in between to sleep in have a late breakfast and hit the pool we usually eat at another resort on those days I love to check out the other hotels or eat at DD which is good if it rains we can walk around the stores. I have a list of restaurants we are looking to go to but I'm not as organized as you as I havn't figured out our days yet but I will have to do so soon.
I love your Donald duck bag your are very talented.
We also considered going in the Nov when I would have a couple days off school since I work a teachers aide but we also like the idea of being able to take a longer trip more in the summer and more time to relax as well. Linda![]()
I'm trying to flex the budget and stay at a deluxe resort for the 2014 trip - at least part of the time. (It will be our 10th anniversary trip, after all) So, that might be a good choice for CM. Just to make Ruthie happy.
Oooh, I want to get back to sewing, but until I get a straight diagnosis of my back/shoulder/ what have you, I'm trying to be good and not stress my left shoulder. Which means little to no sewing. Which means no wonderful theraputic catharsis of swearing at the machine, the thread, the fabric, the pattern, and possibly the table too.
But I finally gave in to my family and friends who keep up with everything on Facebook and signed up for an account. So I do have things to do.
Looking forward, as always, to pictures of the new bag.
Oh my goodness, I loooooove the purses! They're so awesome!
Okay, Ruthie, I'll plan Chef Mickey for our next trip with our DGD in 2014. First ressie I'll make. Promise!
D~ I think your ADRs are really a good mix. We tried the Grand Floridian Cafe for the first time when we were there in December and really enjoyed it a lot! We wanted to see the huge gingerbread house they construct in their lobby anyway, so it was great to kill two birds with one stone.
I'll also second the thought that the food court at Pop is wonderful! I love that your days off will be so relaxing. That's not usually a word one uses to describe a trip to Disney.
Not sure if an hour at DQ will be enough. It's got like 5 floors or something? Anyway, we don't do it any more. It's more for your girls ages I think. Plus DH gets sick doing anything "virtual" so, it's no fun by myself!
Oh, and I don't know if you and the girls bowl, but Splitsville is open now and sounds like a lot of fun. Also, the movie theater now has dinner and a movie, so that might be fun. I always think if it rains a lot that is what we would do.
Can't wait to see your latest creation. Glad it "grew" on you too!
Exiting news for you......beignets at mk at tomorrowland terrace for breakfast.
http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2013/...t-menu-in-magic-kingdom-now-serving-beignets/
Not sure if this is only during main street bakery refurbishment or if it is permanent. I hope it stays, I'd like to try these beignets, and the ham and cheese croissant looks good!
Sewmess, hope your shoulder feels better soon.
So... I am trying to decide what kind of theme I would like to do for our custom bags for this trip...
V has given me her request (it's not what you think)... Alli has given me her request (it's probably what you think)... Then there's me...
I am kind of sick of making Donald bags - to be truthful...
So, I am stuck...
What kind of theme do you all think I should have for this year's bag? Remember - I will probably only have time to make ONE (Even though - I'd really like to bring a few and change them out)...
If you could have any bag theme in the world - what would it be?
D~
Two different themes popped in to my head right away. First would be Winnie the Pooh. Second would be Cinderella. But of course I still love my Lady and the Tramp one!! (I will post pictures once my DH gets them off the camera and I get them uploaded. )
Princess themes. #1 you haven't done much in princesses. And #2 you are staying in a Royal Room...how perfect! Each of you can have a different princess
First off, if you wanted to do HDDR (which I know you aren't doing this time around) its easiest to take the boat from MK, its a very short walk from the boat dock to the Pioneer House. After the show, the resort has buses waiting to take you back to your resort. It really is not a hassle to get there or to get back to your resort - and its a lot of fun!
My vote for your park bags is Minnie, Daisy and maybe Tink (or even Clarabelle!)
Since Be Our Guest is new, I would do a Beauty and Beast inspired. I love the wardrobe. I think she would make a cute bag.
Yes, I was thinking princess... Something for CRT or BoG. I think a Beast bag would be cool, or Beast's castle. Or the stained glass of Belle and Beast dancing.
By the way, when deciding lunch or dinner there (or both). At dinner, there is a chance to try the grey stuff, usually for special occasions. And the beast has been meeting there.
Or "the new fantasyland" bag.
Can't wait to hear what bag you decide to do!
How about 4 parks one world....
And, you can't go wrong with Princesses....
Nini
Ive been to CM for both breakfast & dinner. Wasn't a fan of dinner. Breakfast was good but I like other breakfasts more. Have you ever tried Cape May for breakfast? I've also heard that Wolfgang Puck Cafe (the CS one) has a great breakfast.
For a bag-you will be bringing last years bags won't you? I was going to suggest a four parks one-I see Nini has too. How about Fab 5 or do you have a favorite ride. I always thought it would be cool to make one with a Carosel of Progress theme. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be awesome!

Joining in!! I need to go back and read, but so far your plans sound Terriffic!!! As for bags, I like the Cinderella idea, since you're in a royal room, and going with your girls. Have you seen some of the things the Disney Florist can do? Last year, when we were at the BCV, we were the first room to get the new RFID door, so they sent us a chocolate Mickey, and some tuxedo strawberries, and a basket from the florist, with baloons and other goodies in it. It was pretty cool. They have different princess packages if you wanted to surprise your girls. They may like that.
I like some of the ideas others have posted. Princesses would be great. I haven't seen you do many princess bags.
What about a movie theme? Is there a movie that all 3 of you love and you could do different characters for each bag? Like Buzz, Woody and Jessie if you all love Toy Story.
I like the 4 Parks One World idea also....or do you all have different favorite parks? Could one of you have a HS bag, one an EP bag and one a MK or AK bag?
I'm sure whatever you decide will be wonderful, just like all your bags. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
I like the four parks one world...simple icons for each park would work...
What is Ali's favorite? I know V's is Goofy...the only thing that stans out for Al is the UP bag...
OOh I can't wait to see the lanyards and your auction. I may just have to get C a new lanyard as a valentines day gift. J couldn't care less.
I think you should make some GAC holders to auction off.
I missed the whole bag discussion but my first instinct was princesses.
Can't wait to see the new bag either.
Good luck with your sewing. I am hoping J will nap since he was up so early.
You could do a 4 parks if you did it as simple as I did my shirts last May-just a simple icon for each park.
At church this morning I saw a WDW postcard on the bulletin board that had a photo in each letter of "DISNEY". That would be cool too-but a lot of work.
My DS loves CoP! He has the CD set from the 64 World's Fair and Santa just brought him a book on the 64 World's Fair this year. I would love to make him a bag but I couldn't really come up with a design I thought I could do (the gears would be cool but would folks get it?-I guess only he has to get it) and Keep it masculine enough. He also loves Tomorrowland Transit Authority but couldn't come up with a good idea for that. And he LOVES Horizons (even though he's too young to have actually ridden it!). That would be a bit easier to do just that logo.
You could bring a piece of fabric for Donald to sign on and then use that in a bag for your next trip. HEY.....I could bring one in May and send it to you.
I wouldn't worry about GF! I've been there plenty and NEVER felt out of place. Most times have been in regular "park wear". Grand Floridian Cafe is nice. 1900 Park Fare has a great breakfast. I tend to go late in the morning when it is a bit quieter there. The characters are still there and you tend to get a bit extra attention because there aren't too many guests still there.
Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder. I totally forgot that you could take the boat from Ft. Wilderness to MK.
D~ Can't wait to see your new bag. I'm so impressed that you got so much done on your auction bag. Your restaurant choices sound great and yummy.
Boy work sure kicked me in the butt last week and I am so far behind again on everything. I did find your ADR's and they sound great. I'm not a fan of Chef Mickey's for breakfast or dinner but, if I had to pick one, it would definitely be breakfast. If breakfast is what you are looking for, I would strongly suggest Kona a the Poly or Boma at the AKL.
Idea for your auction...I am hoping for some boy friendly GAC holders...but I have time...we aren't going until December!
