~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

Pirate Mickey is so cute!

And congrats on the election! That was a nail biter!

THank you. :thumbsup2

Congratulations on winning the election! I am sure you will help steer the town in the right direction.

Love the Pirate Mickey wallet/lanyard. The applique is great and the interior fabric is just perfect!

Your day yesterday sounds just like mine. Running here and there all afternoon. I had to take DH to the eye dr (because he couldn't possibly pick out his own glasses frames), the kids to the dentist, do a bunch of errands and then I took the kids to a dinner meeting for a GS award they are working on. By the time we got home, I was exhausted. I hope that today is quieter for you!

THank you. LOL I go with DH to pick out his frames too - I let him pick them out once - never again.

Yesterday was far from quiet for me... popcorn::

Congrats on the election. That's good news.

Thank you. :) It will be a rough term - I can guarantee that. Many issues need to be tended to, and I am sure there will be many disagreements. popcorn::

Wow~ you DID have a crazy day yesterday! Your Edge got a good workout, too! Jealous that you are pretty much done with Christmas for your girls! We have made a good start on ours, but still have a few things to get.

Hey, can I send my grocery list to your BFF too?

Yah - I know... Today my Edge will probably get another good work out.

I know that I went way over budget on Christmas - I do it every single year. I am still trying to figure out a couple of little things for Josh.

You probably could send your list to my BFF... but the deals to be had here in MN aren't nearly as great as those in the southern states - as no one here doubles coupons. :confused3

love love love the Mickey Mouse Wallet and Congrats on the election.

Your day yesterday sounds like mine :)

Thanks Chiara. (((HUGS)))

Another busy day in the life of a mom with two teenagers. :)

The Mickey wallet is perfect. I love his expression!

Exactly! And thanks Liz. :)

Congratulations on the election and hoping for cooperation with your fellow electees.

That Mickey had me cracking up...he's so fierce! I like the stripes on the outside and the fun fabric on the inside.

I actually feel like I've accomplished something in my sewing room. I put the waistband on a skirt that I had laying around for about 6 month. It'll only be another month or so before I finish it.

I haven't posted my first name, but it's Ruth. Every time you reply to Restrasz, I do a double take.

Thanks Ruth (it's so nice to call you by name). :cool1: And whoot for finishing up some old projects. :thumbsup2

Love the pirate mickey!
Sounds like a VERY long day! :/
Ya for friends that coupon and will help you!

Thanks Callie! :thumbsup2

Congrats on the election.

I LOVE the Mickey pirate! Very

Thanks Kathy. :thumbsup2

Yup - yesterday was another crazy day. :confused3

So, about half way through my shift yesterday, V called me at work. She rolled her ankle playing "Trench" (a version of dodgeball) in Gym class. Her ankle was swollen and she couldn't put any weight on it, so the nurse suggested I bring her in. I couldn't believe how quickly they were able to see us, but we were in and out in under an hour (including xrays). Fortunately, there weren't any breaks. So, the Dr. put her in an air cast for 2 weeks and crutches until she can walk with out them.

As my luck would have it - I only work one day per week - so that would be the day that something would happen to make me leave early. :rolleyes1 Oh well - some things just can't be helped.

I did not get anything done yesterday at all. Oh, take that back, I cut out my next little project and have it ready for quilting.

Today begins my very last Crazy Days auction. It was a lot of fun. I may/may not do another one in the spring/summer? Depending on how much time I have. If I do another - it probably won't be nearly as big?

Today is also my big Thanksgiving grocery shopping day. I am curious to see what kind of deals my bff found for me.

I am also very excited to get everything set up for the holidays this weekend and next weekend. :goodvibes

I hope you all have a wonderful day today!

D~

I can't believe there's two of us!!! Ruth isn't a very common name and I seldom meet another. Yea!

Sorry to hear that V got hurt in gym class. I hope that she is starting to feel better!

How did the Thanksgiving shopping go? I got started yesterday. Today I am doing more shopping. I'm actually heading over to Target. They have the best price for turkey breasts. I always cook a whole turkey plus a turkey breast because everybody here likes the white meat best.

Wow D, you have had a crazy past couple days! Sorry about V's ankle :crutches: Hope it heals well!

I have loved seeing all your Crazy Days bags and accessories...wish I could bid on that Mickey GAC holder. That would be perfect for Bradey, but alas...no funds for that right now. I'll have to find something similar in size for him before October.

Anyway...almost time to go pick the little bugger up from school, so :wave2: for now. Have a great weekend!

:wave2: We're a rare breed, we Ruths.

Poor V. Two weeks? :crazy2:

I'm not even thinking about getting ready for the holidays: DH's birthday was yesterday, MIL's birthday is Sunday and silly me, I signed up for a craft swap on another sight and the deadline is December 8. So I'm working on a BIG piece for the swap and a small, detailed piece for MIL and DH will have to be responsible for putting the holiday decor up.

Which he usually does anyway.

Wow D~...you have been running around like a crazy woman. I don't know how you do it. :confused3

Sorry to hear about V's ankle. Sometimes those sprains are worse than a break. I have weak ankles and my feet pronate (turn in) so I roll my ankles VERY easily. I now own 2 Aircasts and a set of crutches. I hope she heals quickly.

I LOVE all your Crazy Days auction items. I totally wish I had the extra funds right now. The pirate Mickey GAC holder and lanyard is just adorable!

Poor V! I hope her ankle heals fast.

Hope your shopping trip was a successful one!!

Sorry for short responses just trying to get things ready for all of out Thanksgiving festivities!!

Sorry to hear about your daughter's ankle. Hope she's feeling better quickly! Meanwhile, she can milk it for all it's worth, getting little sis to do her bidding...that's what I would do at that age!:rotfl::rotfl:

You've been busy. Life seems to speed up at holiday time. I made a list of everything that needs done before Thanksgiving, before our Disney trip and before Christmas. I assigned a day to every task/project and color coded everything. Yeh, I'm one of THOSE people!:rolleyes1 I'm making Christmas outfits for 4 of my 5 grandchildren and they have to be done when they get here for TG so they can take them home and wear them for the holiday season. I made our Christmas cards this year and they are ready to be addressed. I usually get them out the 1st of December and we'll be in Disney, so they'll go out early this year. I'm decorating for Christmas today (except the tree) because if I don't do it before our trip, I won't feel like doing it when we get back Dec. 6th. Don't even get me started about cleaning and packing! But the nice thing is, I don't work outside the home, so if I keep my fanny moving, I can get a lot done. We never do work on Sundays, so that is probably when I'll get caught up with my Christmas movies. I'm a Christmas movie junkie!popcorn::

I think your crazy days auction idea was brilliant, and I'll bet by Spring you'll be ready to go again. You just need a little buffer from all that's been going on in your hectic life. Oh, and random thought, I LOVE that Target is sporting huge Merry Christmas signage this season! So many retailers go with the Happy Holidays, so yay for Target!:yay:

Hope you have a great weekend!:goodvibes

I can't believe there's two of us!!! Ruth isn't a very common name and I seldom meet another. Yea!

And look how lucky I am... I have the privilage of having 2 of the nicest Ruths ever as friends. ::yes::

Sorry to hear that V got hurt in gym class. I hope that she is starting to feel better!

Hi Diane!

I will do a V update at the bottom...

I will also do a grocery shopping update on the bottom...

Wow D, you have had a crazy past couple days! Sorry about V's ankle Hope it heals well!

Hi Suzi! I will do a V update at the bottom.

I am sure we can hook Bradey up in time for his trip. :cool1: No worries... Just send me a PM and I will find some time for the cute little guy.

We're a rare breed, we Ruths.

You are a rare breed Ruth - but I am glad to have you here. :smokin:

I will do a V update at the bottom.

Wow - you have a super crazy week coming up... And a craft swap on top of that??? LOL What were you thinking? :crazy2:

I hope your DH had a good birthday.

Wow D~...you have been running around like a crazy woman. I don't know how you do it.

Sorry to hear about V's ankle. Sometimes those sprains are worse than a break. I have weak ankles and my feet pronate (turn in) so I roll my ankles VERY easily. I now own 2 Aircasts and a set of crutches. I hope she heals quickly.

LOL - I am not sure how I do it either?

I agree - I rolled my ankle once (while Josh was in Iraq) and it was the most excruciating pain I have ever felt... I probably should have been put in an air cast and crutches for that one too... Unfortunately, the crutches we own are originally from when I dislocated my knee - and we learned at that time, that D~ is not coordinated at all, and crutches are not something I should attempt to do - or I will create more injury. :faint:

Hopefully you don't need your air cast or crutches any time soon.

THank you... I have really enjoyed doing the Crazy Days... I really think I did too much stuff though. I am kind of surprised at the price of the GAC Pouch.... I am about ready to go on there and stop the bidding, because I don't want anyone to pay too much for it - ya know? It's only a 4x6 pouch. But Josh says I should leave it alone. :confused3

Poor V! I hope her ankle heals fast.

Hope your shopping trip was a successful one!!

Sorry for short responses just trying to get things ready for all of out Thanksgiving festivities!!

Thanks Sandra! I will do a V update and a grocery update at the bottom.

I know... I am trying to rush too... The girls an I have a lot of prep work to do today, as well.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's ankle. Hope she's feeling better quickly! Meanwhile, she can milk it for all it's worth, getting little sis to do her bidding...that's what I would do at that age!

Thanks Lois... Yah - she's trying to milk it... LOL

Great job on making a list. I am a list maker too. I got smart though and a few years ago I made a HUGE Thanksgiving list... It tells me which dish to use for which item - I was smart and kept it - so now I just dig it out and not too much thought has to go into prep work. :thumbsup2

Are you almost done with all these Christmas outfits for the DGCs? You do realize that Thanksgiving is on Thursday right? :lmao:

And I agree with the decorating. I remember, our October 2008 trip... I was so consumed with our trip, it wasn't until we came home, I realized that Christmas was only a few weeks away - and I hadn't done one. single. thing. It was crazy trying to get all our gifts purchased... Especially for the girls. :crazy2: I like to have them done really early, because if no one else gets one single thing, at least my girls will have a nice Christmas. :flower3:

I think your crazy days auction idea was brilliant, and I'll bet by Spring you'll be ready to go again. You just need a little buffer from all that's been going on in your hectic life. Thank you - I agree... I might be ready to go for it again in the spring. Unfortunately, that means I need to get started now. Like I said - smaller. LOL

I agree - I like Target's decor this year... But I really LOVE Kohl's. I don't know what theirs says, but I love that HUGE garland with all the glass balls - it's so pretty!

I hope you have a great weekend too!

Poor V... I didn't think of it until long after she'd left - but I wondered how she got on the bus... Allison told me after school, that V threw her crutches on to the bus ahead of her, and crawled up. :faint: I should have given her a ride. I felt awful! Not knowing the above story - she texted me at about 8:30 to tell me that she fell in the hallway at school "one of her crutches slipped out from under her"... Of course, I freaked out - but she said she was fine, her friends were with her and helped her up. :faint:

So, after school - she had a birthday party to go to... So she went. They all went to see a movie, she was supposed to spend the night. At about 10:30pm last night, she woke me up to tell me she was home, and then she proceeded to tell me "I don't think Mikayla's mom likes me..." Huh??? "Why not?" I said... "Well, she let me have Coke for dinner - and I could't hold it in - I let out a HUGE burp at the table..." OMG!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT?????????????? Serously??????????? I guess, Mikayla's mom yelled at her for it. For the record, and in V's defense... We rarely let the girls have soda - and definately NOT Coke... Partially because they can't handle all the sugar, and partially because the carbon gets to them, and causes - ahem - gas build up.

So, poor V... I can just imagine myself as a mother, in the same position as Mikayla's mother... Kid comes over, you've never met her or her family before, she's on crutches (which she can't maneuver very well), she barely brings a gift (I've been so busy, I forgot... and the girls are responsible for buying their own birthday gifts now, so the gift is usually minimal because of their budget), she sits down at their table to eat dinner and lets out a huge belch....

:mic: Yep, Mother of the Year right here folks... :mic:

I doubt she'll ever be invited back to Mikayla's house again....

I am tempted to send her mother a card to apologize, but the other part of me just wants to slink into the corner...

Grocery shopping was fun! Sort of...

We started off at JoAnn's. I went in to get purple thread and pick up some fleece for a friend. While I was there, I noticed they had 2 fabrics in stock that I've been looking for, for a while... So, I grabbed those too. :thumbsup2

Then, we hit the Dollar Store... I had to get some supplies for Alli's Spainish project.

From there... We had lunch at Noodles & Co. Pretty tasty...

Then... To Barnes & Noble... Had to pick up a book for Alli for Christmas, and while I was there, I found something for Josh's brother and Step-mom.

Then... To Kohls... Had Kohl's cash to spend. I found myself a red vest to wear for Christmas (it wasn't until we were long out of the store that I realized it was red - as a rule - I do not buy red, I hate red, and only wear it at Target... I guess I don't work at Target enough lately to hate red as much as I used to? :rotfl2:) I also got the girls a small stocking stuffer.

Notice how we have yet to get any grocery shopping done yet? :crazy2:

OK, OK... Here we go...

First grocery stop (mind you, it's now 2pm, and we've been at this since 9am) is Target...

I managed to spend about $100 here - there were a few things on my list I had to add in the store, because I forgot I needed them (zip-loc bags...) Bff had a ton of coupons for me, and when I checked out, I actually paid $65 for my items. But remember, not only do I get Target coupons, manufacturer coupons, but I also get my employee discount + my extra 5%. :cool1:

From here, we went to Cub Foods (our local grocery store)... I barely had anything in my cart - literally, I checked out in the express lane. I purchased sale items, but I didn't have coupons for anything. :( That was $45. Ouch!

Then, we stopped at Papa Murphys, because we were nearing 4:30, and I didn't have time to make dinner once I got home... So, I grabbed a couple of pizzas.

Our last stop was Aldi's... I spent $15 here...

That should have been all of our groceries for Thanksgiving. Except the turkey... We still don't have a turkey. Must not forget the turkey. Turkeys usually go on sale next week, so I hope to get a better deal on one then.

I also have to place my order at the local meat market... Gotta get various summer susages for the meat and cheese tray. I also need to order hard rolls.

::yes::

Overall, I feel like I did pretty good. My budget for yesterday's purchases of Thanksgiving dinner was $100. I did go over, but I didn't go over nearly as much as I do every other year. However, I still have an expensive portion of items to buy. :crazy2:

**********************************************************

Today...

Well, I might go up to my sewing room for about an hour this morning. I am working on quilting a small project - and if I can finish quilting it today, that will make me happy.

Then, this afternoon - that's when the fun starts.

The girls and I will haul up the snow village from the basement and get that set up. It will likely take us all afternoon. I am not sure if we will have any time to do anything else after that - except maybe cuddle up and watch Christmas movies tonight. :thumbsup2 Which we always do the night we set up the Christmas village... It's so beautiful to sit in the livingroom with all the village lights on and watch Christmas movies.

Tomorrow, we will work on hauling all my holiday serving dishes up from the basement, getting them unboxed and washed.

We will also work on washing and drying the China. Possibly polishing the silverware, if it needs it - which I am pretty sure it does - I think it needed it last year and I skipped it. :crazy2:

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and I hope you all enjoy doing all the prep work that comes with the holidays - I know it is my favorite time of the year.

D~

Sorry I haven't stopped by in a while...it has been crazy here for some reason! LOL!

I have kept up with reading through the phone but I have enough trouble typing on the laptop...on the phone is unbelievable!

As we go into the home stretch, I know I probably won't be able to get much computer time (although I usually find a couple of hours each morning after we are actually at Disney!) So, in case I don't get back to say it....Happy Thanksgiving!

Nini

D your Thanksgiving list makes me tired LOL.

I am very happy to not be cooking. I went shopping yesterday too and now I am paying for it today :)

poor V. Hope V gets to go to Mikayla's house if that is what V wants to. But I can imagen V not wanting to go back there. If it was me I would certenly not want to go back there because I would feel so embarrassed.

Mikayla's mom yelled at her for it.

That's just ridiculous to yell at a person for something they couldn't help!

I doubt she'll ever be invited back to Mikayla's house again....

I wouldn't want to go back!

I am tempted to send her mother a card to apologize, but the other part of me just wants to slink into the corner...

Maybe I'm a bad mom, but as long as a person says excuse me - it wouldn't even cause a ripple at my dinner table! Now, if the girls were all sitting around having a burping contest, that would be diferent. (Although some might think that was funny ;))

*******************************************************

It sound like a big deal was made over nothing! I wouldn't even think twice about it if I were you ;)

My mother's sorta been slowly cleaning out some of the stuff that's in the house she and my father built 60+ years ago. She's not a hoarder, but possibly a packrat, as most "children of the Depression" are, I suspect.

Last week it was Christmas stuff that I got. (Two weeks ago it was boxes and boxes of wrapping paper, bows, and gift boxes.)

Earlier today I was reading the December 1959 issue of Everywoman's Family Circle.

Is that Mr. Rocketpants himself?

Or an older brother?

Or second cousin that we don't speak of in front of the women and children?

That's all.

Now back to your sewing.

I know - things have been so crazy for you... I cannot believe how close your trip is. YOu have many reasons to celebrate this time around! :cheer2:

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving too... I will be watching your PTR and FB for updates about your trip - it is going to be amazing!

D your Thanksgiving list makes me tired LOL.

I am very happy to not be cooking. I went shopping yesterday too and now I am paying for it today :)

LOL... But I am excited! I love to use all of my serving ware, silverware and China (which is new to me this year) that I never get to use. The one thing I do hate is packing it up and putting it away. I usually pack everything back in the boxes after Thanksgiving, but I leave all the boxes stacked in the office until Christmas - just in case I need to use them again.

I don't really do any of the cooking - Josh does. :thumbsup2 I do all the prep work... The make-ahead mashed potatoes and all the appetizers. Josh does all the hard stuff... Turkey, pies, stuffing, his amazing cranberries (which we all requested a "double, double batch" this year ::yes::)... Mmmmm - my mouth is watering already!

poor V. Hope V gets to go to Mikayla's house if that is what V wants to. But I can imagen V not wanting to go back there. If it was me I would certenly not want to go back there because I would feel so embarrassed.

She didn't say much about it today - she doesn't seem bothered by the incident. If she isn't bothered, I won't worry about it.

It sound like a big deal was made over nothing! I wouldn't even think twice about it if I were you ;)

Yah - I probably made more of a big deal out of it than necessary too. LOL I just worry that people think my kids have no manners... :crazy2:

Hi Cheryl! I really wish you would have moved in next door - I could have used your extra vote in the election. Sigh. Oh well... Maybe by the next election? Well, by then, Alli will be able to vote - and I just assume that she will vote for her mom...

Anyways... I don't think that any of them are Mr. Rocketpants? I was thinking that the center left photo was him, but I don't think he is slanted enough... Mr. Rocketpants is very slanted, and the tops are a bit different. I do believe that this is his family though - since he is a Slant-O-Matic... I would guess it's his parents and possibly siblings? I know that the top right machine is a 401a...

Here's the photo of Mr. R for comparison:

IMG_224115.jpg

You can see in the photo you posted, the thread sits on top of that machine, where on Mr. R - there is a lid that pops open and that's where the thread sits...

320195_4582761055843_513501336_n.jpg

But - despite the fact that this isn't Mr. R in the ad - I still love the ad. I just LOVE old sewing machine ads to begin with. I would love to frame some of them and hang them in my sewing room.

*********************************************************

Yesterday was quite boring...

I sewed for a little while in the morning. Since this is my week off... I've been hunting for a Christmas Stocking for MM - since I know when we open the Christmas bins, we will have Rufus' stocking in there and none for Max. So, I started it yesterday, and I hope to finish it this morning. Then, when we set up our tree this weekend, he will have his own stocking. :thumbsup2

Then, after lunch - the girls and I set up the village... I have so many broken accessories from over the years - it's kind of frustrating. You lose and arm or tail here or there, and before you know it - there is something small wrong with everything. Drives me crazy - but I am not about to spend more $$ on it, unless I happen to get the Disney village. I love to light it up in the evening, and watch Christmas movies in the livingroom.

Last night, V and I watched the American Girl Samantha movie - it's such a wonderful holiday movie.

Josh and Alli went to his cousin's hockey game... Josh's aunt is here from Alaska and his cousin plays hockey for one of the local colleges. I really wasn't in the mood to go watch hockey, and V didn't feel like maneuvering the rink in her crutches - so we stayed home.

Today, I have to clean the kitchen... It looks like a disaster zone. :scared: A little annoyed about it... but I won't let it bother me.

Once I get the kitchen cleaned up, Alli and I will start hauling my platters and serving ware out of the basement, so it can be washed and ready for this week. Thankfully Josh plugged in the basement fridge a few weeks ago - I have a feeling we will need it. Then we will get out the China and wash that up. Finally, we will work on polishing the silverware.

I don't know why I go through all the trouble of using this stuff, especially when we just have my Dad and brother coming - but I guess it just makes the occasion seem so much more special. And if we don't use it for Thanksgiving and Christmas - we don't use it at all.

I hope everyone has an amazing day today.

D~

We ALWAYS use the good stuff for Thanksgiving and Christmas! (Even when it was hubby and I and a couple kids...and used the good candles)

In fact...we are having Thanksgiving at my daughter in laws house...hubby turned up his nose when she announced she is using paper plates and plastic utensils (After all we ARE leaving at 3 am the next morning!)

He later said we might as well go to McDonald's instead! LOL

Of course since I am hosting Christmas this year (3 weeks after we get back from Disney) we have to haul out the extra large table top ...better known as a 4x8 sheet of plywood! We put it on top of the table and I have a special table cloth that goes on top...no one ever knows.....

Nini

You all have so much going on I can hardly keep up! Makes me tired just reading about it! Aside from that,it just sounds like FUN! I'll be going back to work Dec3 so I better get busy! I hope everyone has a great day!

Have a great Thanksgiving!! I wish I could talk my DH into pulling all of our nice china and dinnerware out of the attic but he just doesn't like the hassle of it all. Then to store the boxes just isn't very doable in our condo so regular plates and utensils it is!!

Now got to get to work on that gift shopping list and figure out which store to hit first!! We're dropping the kids off at my father in law's around 7 pm Thanksgiving night then off we go!!

LOL... I think Josh would have said the same thing as your dh.

We used to do that with the plywood, now we just add extra leaves to the table as necessary... Which reminds me - need to wash the table cloth...

You all have so much going on I can hardly keep up! Makes me tired just reading about it! Aside from that,it just sounds like FUN! I'll be going back to work Dec3 so I better get busy! I hope everyone has a great day!

Glad to hear you are going back to work Ruth. I hope it goes smoothly for you and you're ready. Please continue to take it easy as much as possible.

Oh - I am sure that is difficult! Sounds like you are pumped for BF shopping! My neighbor and I are holding out until Saturday... We really don't have that many more gifts to get though. We are just going because we want to go. :lovestruc

**********************************************************

Yesterday was a very productive day for all of us.

I started out in the sewing room, and managed to finish MM's stocking. I drew my own pattern - and if I were to make another one - I would make it slightly wider at the top. :thumbsup2 Not sure that I like it any better than any of the ones I saw in the store... but it was "free" so I won't complain.

While I was in the sewing room - Josh was cleaning the basement. It looks amazing! ::yes::

After lunch, the girls and I cleaned the main floor of the house - it was so trashed - I was even embarassed to look at it. :rolleyes1 I still need to scrub floors one day this week though.

Then Alli and I hauled up all my serving dishes from the basement, unboxed and washed/dried them all. :wizard: They are all stacked neatly and ready to go.

Then we took out the China and got that washed. It is now wrapped in a towel on my kitchen counter. We decided not to use the tea cups and saucers. We were going to wait to wash everything - but if we would have waited, we would have been trying to wash the China while Josh was making Thanksgiving dinner - and that just would have been a disaster. There is not room for more than one person in our kitchen.

We did not get the Silverware done. I will try to do that today or tomorrow.

I did find a new sweet potato recipe that I am anxious to try. Josh always does the main meal (except the make ahead mashed potatoes) - so last night, I informed him that I didn't want the "standard" sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top. So, I went in search of something different. I will probably be making those on Wednesday.

I guess I am going to town this morning to finish up my grocery shopping - I wasn't thinking, but the turkey will need time to thaw. I am quite disappointed the the price of Turkeys didn't drop this week - statistically, they always have. Oh well. So, I need to grab a few more odds n' ends that I missed the other day.

I have my to-do list all broken up, as to what I need to make each day - otherwise - I end up doing all of it on Wednesday, and then it's quite crazy. :dance3:

I can't forget to order our summer sausage and hard rolls from the meat market today though - or I will be a wreck with out them.

Sorry to totally bore you all with my ramblings.... I just have so much going through my brain right now. I feel like, if I don't type it out, I will forget. :rolleyes1

I hope everyone had a nice weekend, and I hope you are all having as much fun planning Thanksgiving as I am. :lovestruc

It sounds like you have been super productive for the last few days. I am tired just thinking about all that you have accomplished! Sorry that V had trouble at her friend's house. Although the girls may have thought V was a lot funnier than Mikalaya's mom thought she was!:rotfl: Are you going to post a picture of MM's stocking?

We never use the real china or silverware for Thanksgiving. I have too many people here for that. I only have 12 place setting for my china and we will have 19 people this year. Turkey prices were very good here. They dropped quite low last week. Wegmann's had frozen turkey's for $.49 per pound and our local chain, Giant, had them for $.59 per pound. However, I did opt for a fresh turkey which I bought at another local chain for $.89 per pound. I also bought the frozen turkey breast at Target and it was $.99 per pound. What kind of sweet potatoes are you going to make? My best friend bring the sweet potatoes. Hers are yummy! She adds pineapple, maraschino cherries and marshmallows. They are like eating candy and the kids all love them.
