Good luck getting everything done D.

Thanks - I think I am going to need it. LOL

Good Morning D~
I think this is my custom bag you are referring too? I am confident it will turn out great I am so excited my turn is here
I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

Monica

Yes it is Monica... I am soooo nervous about that applique... I hope I can get it to come out right. :lovestruc I plan to work on it for part of today.

Glad you had a nice mothers day! a nap... ahhh, I'm sure that is something you relish with your busy schedule!

Actually - I do love my naps, but it's been a several weeks since I've had one. LOL Usually my schedule isn't this crazy - but with the craziness of it all, I can't afford to nap right now.

I would love to piggy back on your ticker. We depart on August 20th.

Oooh - we even arrive on the same day! What time does your flight get in?

Hope you have a successful day!

Happy Monday everyone!

Thank you!

POOR JOSH!!!! How is he doing today???
i thought i posted off my cell phone but clearly i didn't. I see you had a great Mom day!
already doing the double digit really!!! that is coming up quick!!!
I'm so happy!

Josh's back is still a mess this morning. Not sure what I am going to do with him. Poor guy... :(

Not liking the plans... NEED TO DO CHEF MICKEYS.
ya know what forget it. if you do go and hate it i am going to have so much grief!

I know - I know... I wish I could fit it in somewhere, but there is just no where to do it.

ok going back to do some editing...

What a great find. I'm impressed it still worked. Glad you got to enjoy your records.

D~ I'm glad to see that you will not be doing Chef Mickey on your BB day, not that I want you to miss Chef Mickey but trying to do a breakfast on a water park day in August doesn't sound like a good idea. Hope you get all your sewing done.

Yah - by the time we got to BB, it would be packed... I am not sure how Ruthie tours, but we are a "get there early" type tourers, and get out just as it's getting busy... Always with the option of gonig back later, of course. :lovestruc

OK brace yourself here comes a shocker we do not NEED to do Chef Mickey we need to spend time relaxing & getting to know each/all of us very hard to do in my fave restaurant now pick yourself up off the floor and PUHLEzzz change your avatar back I miss Skellington

LOL

I know Liz I was shocked the thing is over 50 yrs old and not a scratch on it/color of graphics bright, just a little piece missing from the latch and works like new I was stunned got it for $41. now THAT is a steal

Ruthie

That is a steal! I can't believe you found it for such a good price, and working! I would love to see pictures of it, if you can. :thumbsup2

Yay!!! I was there this morning to check it out... So glad you started it! Whoot!!! :lovestruc

**********************************************************

Yesterday was insanity at it's very best... I don't even know where to begin.

I was able to cut out and fully quilt my custom bag. :woohoo: Today, I will start on the applique for it... I am so nervous about this applique - but I know it will be fine, I just need to stop looking at the "whole picture" and do it one step at a time, like I always do.

I was also able to cut out, piece together and start stitching on the applique for my auction bag... I am really excited about how it looks so far. :lovestruc This one will be a hard one for me to give up. I hope to finish this applique this afternoon... If I can...

I have a hair appointment today... Sigh... If I would have realized back in Feb when I made all of my appointments for the year, that this week was THE week - I would have made it for next week. But I didn't realize. I seriously don't have the time for a hair appointment today - or any day this week - but I can't reschedule, because my stylist books up so far in advance. So, I just need to deal with it.

Tonight, V has a choir concert... So I won't be able to work in my sewing room tonight either. :headache:

Need more time in my days this week - truly, I do.

**********************************************************

Josh is home from work today... In compensating for his rib all weekend, yesterday morning he coughed, and in turn - threw out his back. So, not only does he have rib pain, he has back pain too...

Got the call from my mechanic last night... My air conditioning in my Edge didn't need to be recharged, I guess I had a hole in one of my hoses... To the tune of $175 for just the part. :faint: Not good - just not good at all. :headache: But he is ordering the part for me, and I should have it fixed by the weekend. I hope.

So, bff is bringing my car back to me this morning - so I don't have to take the time out of my day to go and get it. It's so nice of her to do this, because as sad as it is, I just don't have the time to go get my own car. :rolleyes1

Alrighty - I am done complaining now...

I hope you all have a wonderful day today! :lovestruc

D~

Good Morning D~! Been lurking, thought I would pop in to comment. :thumbsup2 LOVE the Figment pack, so cute. You know how much I  that little purple guy!!!

So sorry to hear about Josh's injuries! :worried: I do hope some rest will do good for his recovery.

You are a very busy lady as always. So excited for your trip coming up! :goodvibes

OMG Poor Josh! This getting old thing does suck sometimes! I hope he's feeling better soon.

Good luck getting everything done today...including the hair appointment!

So sorry about the car repair cost...always something isn't it? Or so it seems!

Glad your plans are coming together and everything seems like it's in place for a fabulous trip!

My current countdown is 17 days...still hard to believe I'm going alone but really looking forward to it. Kinda on the fence right now and was considering last night taking the little girl. I know she'd be a great travel companion and PROBABLY would not complain too much, would just be happy to go along. However there's another part of me that just wants to be a little bit selfish this time. Those two parts are still duking it out in my head and heart so we'll see who wins. :rotfl:

I am booked for Shades of Green and really looking forward to trying it out AND being so close to the Poly and the monorail. I have a rental car but it will be nice to not even have to worry about that too much.

Just a drive by note, you said MM nose turned pink. Do you use pastic food dishes? If so that might be why. That is what happened with our first dog.

Hope your DH will take it easy for a few days so his back and ribs can recover.:wizard:

Sorry to hear about your unexpected car expense. How nice that your BFF is able to pick it up for you. You just reminded me I think my DH needs to get the AC in our mini van recharged.

Hope you love your hair. Emma & I went just before our trip. It had been a year since we went. I told the stylist that Emma is "burdened" by her thick hair so I wanted to cut off as much as possible but still have it long enough to easily braid as that it the ONLY way she will wear it-she's been growing it out for years now. I didn't discovered til the morning of our trip that the stylist had layered the back of her hair so it would fall nicely if she had it down. BUT Emma NEVER wears it down so now we have all these little ends sticking out when we braid it.:headache:

Hope the concert goes well tonight.

Our flight lands about 6pm. I forget the exact time, if it is just before or just after. But, DH wants to change it to earlier. I doubt that is going to happen unless a money tree grows in our yard.
speaking of money trees....I'm sorry about your car expense. Why is it NEVER, oh I think you need a transmission, oh no I was wrong it's just a hose...?Never!

glad you are liking the way the auction item is coming out. I can't wait to see them all. Have you announced the date yet.. You know I have crs (can't remember...stuff).

Now, what was I going to say....:scratchin

Oh, yeah, I hope you are able to enjoy the chorus concert tonight. I miss those.

I hope Josh is feeling better very very soon. Continued prayers for him & all my disboard friends.

I hope Josh really starts to feel better soon.

Good luck getting everything done.

Poor Josh, its the simplest things that can throw a persons back out hope he is feeling better soon I miss those chorus concert nights too, such a nice relaxing evening, well once everyone has dinner, gets ready, and finally gets there I Don't miss the prep for it all :rotfl: Car troubles Uhh! always always something

I know you're under a lot of time pressure for your auctions this week one thing at a time keep going little engine that could you'll make it I have no doubt :thumbsup2

have a great night all !

Belated birthday wishes for Victoria. Her cupcakes looked so good.

Love the latest photo of Max. He's so cute!

Love, love, love the Figment bag. I wish Figment was still a meet & greet character. Well, I really wish his ride was the original and you could still meet Dreamfinder with a Figment puppet like I saw in 1996.

I will let Victoria know - thank you Bernadette!

I have never ridden the original Figment ride, only the current one.

Good Morning D~! Been lurking, thought I would pop in to comment. LOVE the Figment pack, so cute. You know how much I that little purple guy!!!

Hi there Oopsi! It's great to see you... I miss seeing you around so much. :grouphug:

So sorry to hear about Josh's injuries! I do hope some rest will do good for his recovery.

I hope so, it looks like he is attempting to go to work today.

You are a very busy lady as always. So excited for your trip coming up!

I just hope I can get everything done on time... I have less than a month until my pay off date - and I am feeling the stress! I will be super happy once it's paid off, because then I can start working on our fun stuff for the trip - boy do I have a list!

OMG Poor Josh! This getting old thing does suck sometimes! I hope he's feeling better soon.

I agree - at least he seems to be up and moving today.

[Good luck getting everything done today...including the hair appointment!

Thanks - I didn't get nearly as much done as I'd wanted to... but more on that below.

[So sorry about the car repair cost...always something isn't it? Or so it seems!

I know - I am about ready to pull my hair out.

[Glad your plans are coming together and everything seems like it's in place for a fabulous trip!

Thanks - it seems to be.

This is going to be an awesome trip. We stayed at SoG in 2008, it was a very enjoyable resort, and I would stay there again, if I wasn't so spoiled from the Disney resorts. LOL You will have such a great time. Are you flying down this time?

Just a drive by note, you said MM nose turned pink. Do you use pastic food dishes? If so that might be why. That is what happened with our first dog.

Hi Erin! LOL - nope, no plastic dishes for MM... All metal.

Hope your DH will take it easy for a few days so his back and ribs can recover.

He looks to be getting ready for work today... Hopefully he goes easy.

Sorry to hear about your unexpected car expense. How nice that your BFF is able to pick it up for you. You just reminded me I think my DH needs to get the AC in our mini van recharged.

It's OK... Yes, it was very nice of her to bring it home for me. :thumbsup2

I do love how my hair turned out - I love my stylist so much! I would be so annoyed if someone cut the girls' hair that way too, they always wear theirs in ponies or braids, so that would just annoy them and me. Hopefully Emma's grows fast enough that it won't be an issue for long.

Our flight lands about 6pm. I forget the exact time, if it is just before or just after. But, DH wants to change it to earlier. I doubt that is going to happen unless a money tree grows in our yard.

OK - that's good to know... We will be in MK that night, but we won't be there very late - or that's the plan anyways. Want to be in bed early and ready for the rest of our trip.

glad you are liking the way the auction item is coming out. I can't wait to see them all. Have you announced the date yet.. You know I have crs (can't remember...stuff).

LOL I have not announced the date for the BIG auction yet... The bag I am currently working on is the bag for the auction that starts tomorrow. :scared: I plan to finish it up this morning (I hope) and get back to work on my custom order.

Now, what was I going to say....:scratchin

Oh, yeah, I hope you are able to enjoy the chorus concert tonight. I miss those.

I hope Josh is feeling better very very soon. Continued prayers for him & all my disboard friends.

The choir concert was very nice, they all did a great job! Josh is headed to work - he is walking crooked, but he plan to try. :confused3

I hope Josh really starts to feel better soon.

Good luck getting everything done.

Thank you Sandra!

Yes, it is always something. Josh is attempting to go to work today... I am not sure how he is going to do it - he can barely walk. :sad2:

I know you're under a lot of time pressure for your auctions this week one thing at a time keep going little engine that could you'll make it I have no doubt

Exactly... I must get up there early today though.

have a great night all !

Ruthie

I hope you had a good night too!

**********************************************************

So, yesterday... Where do I begin?

I made an executive decision to set aside my custom order. My auction bag has to be ready by this afternoon so I can take pictures and write the listing. My custom order does't have to be in the mail until Monday... So, as soon as I am done taking pictures today - it will be back to work on my custom order bag. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't do that, but this deadline really snuck up on me.

So, then... while I was finishing up my applique for the auction bag - I came up with a hair brained idea for the auction bag... Which required me to learn a new machine in under 30 minutes. :scared: So, what did I do? I learned a new machine... Sometimes I really think I am nuts.

I thought I shared the story here - but it's possible I didn't. I know I shared it over in the Disboutiquer thread. But last week, a friend of mine from work let me *use* her embroidery machine for as long as I want it. If I decide I want to keep it, I will add her to my bag list next year (my earliest opening) and she will pay me $$ to boot. It's a pretty good deal - but I am not certain it is the right machine for me. The first obsticle is that it doesn't take a USB, it only takes the Brother design cards... It has a bunch of preloaded Disney designs (which I would never use), and about 4 pre-loaded fonts. If I ever purchased an embroidery machine, it would be used strictly for writing, and nothing more - since I enjoy doing hand applique so much - and let's face it, that is one of the reasons my items are so unique, so I would never change that part.

Anyways... As I was finishing up my applique yesterday, I got to thinking that this bag would really be fun if I was able to put some writing on it... So, with in a half hour of my hair appointment, I decided it would be nice to learn a new machine. :scratchin And I did. LOL It took me 1 try before I left for my appointment, and I thought the font was a bit too small for what I wanted... So, when I got home, I tried for a bigger font, and it worked. I am excited to show you all when I finish the bag today... And the best part... What normally takes me hours to do when I "write" with my machine - this seriously spit it out in 5 minutes... It was really cool! So, now it has me rethinking my whole "no embroidery machine" stance... I might end up getting one at some point... after our trip, of course.

My hair appointment took my entire afternoon yesterday, but I really needed it done, as my *cough* gray highlights were really starting to show through. It turned out cute, I decided to do the burgurndy highlights again, however, I am starting to get a little sick of this cut... I might try something a little more bold next time.

By the time I got home, it was time to start dinner... I told everyone it was a free for all last night with left overs... So, we all ate randomly - which is something we very rarely do.

Then I took V to town for her concert... We did not get home until almost 9pm... I had every intention of going back to work in my sewing room, but I was so tired, I went straight to bed, and don't remember a thing. :rolleyes1

Anyways... I better get a move on my day... I will be holed up in my sewing room until dinner time tonight, and I may go up again after dinner to see if I can make any more progress.

Look for auction bag pictures this afternoon - I have a feeling you will love this bag! I know I do.

Have a wonderful day everyone - and I hope you all are feeling better. :grouphug:

D~

YAY for new machines and learning!!! pixiedust: <-- you know what i mean by that..I can't wait to see the new stuff!!

Hope Josh is doing ok! No Concert pictures??? Slacker.

OK leaving you alone so you can go back to work. you only have 14 more days until you have US!!!

:cool1:

Can't wait to see the bag! I wouldn't have thought MM would ave plastic dishes since metal is the way to go. Weird about his nose. Our puppies currently have a bug. Can you say poop everywhere :headache:

D, I'm still reading....just so much to do these last 22 days.

Hope Josh is feeling better. I'm sorry about your car. :(

Can't wait to see your new bag today. I'm pretty sure Charlie is going to pay for me to get one of your auction bags at some point this year!

I've been researching Brother embroidery machines too and you might want to consider the PE770 - it's available on Amazon for about $600. It does not come with pre-loaded Disney designs but it does have a USB port. My dealer carries the PE780d - which is only sold by dealers and is basically the same machine as the 770, except it has pre-loaded Disney designs, which really didn't impress me all that much - and the price is a whopping $999!

I've been playing around with the embroidery on my Viking and it is a learning process to say the least. I'm hoping to have embroidered t-shirts for us to wear in the parks each day of our trip. My dh is such a good sport about it and I'm having fun learning something new.

On another sad note, my 20 year old great niece, who is in the Navy stationed on Guam was in the hospital for a medical issue when she apparently suffered a stroke which has affected her motor skills and speech. She was to have an MRI yesterday (last might?) and then will determine if they will send her to Honolulu or San Diego to a larger hospital. If you and others here are so inclined, prayers for Kat would be appreciated.

Thanks
Terry

I hope you can figure out your embroidery part on your Viking. I am sending prayers for your niece. How scary. :grouphug:

D~ Can't wait to see the auction bag and your embroidery. I hope Josh is doing better and taking it easy but for some reason I doubt he is relaxing around the house. I hope V had a nice concert. Our school year is winding down here and then I think summer might be crazy. I am not tricking myself into thinking I will have time to work on sewing projects this summer like I did last summer. Good luck getting all your sewing done.

sorry to hear about your niece. Prayers from my home.

I know - I know - I say it all the time, but I REALLY LOVE this bag!!! I love everything about it, but especially how the applique and colors turned out. I really like how the turquoise pops off the dark blue of the bag.

So, remember a few weeks ago, when I'd mentioned that I had contacted an Etsy seller, and she had given me permission to use a few of her designs and turn them into appliques? Well, this is one of her designs - and I think they are the perfect compliment to my wallets.

IMG_0219.jpg

Then, for inquiring minds... Here's the (on loan) embroidery machine, hard at work making the zipper pul (I added the border as a last minute idea)l... Seriously - I really think I need one of these, I think adding writing to my bags would really take them to another level. Doing something like this by hand takes me HOURS, so it was really awesome to have it done in mere minutes. Does anyone have an opinon on this - either way?
