~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

At first they questioned the gestational age...but the pediatrician showed us things that shwed her that we did indeed have a preemie.

Since Mommy had such a problem with the edema part of the pre-e...so did baby. Once that went away she was a much more 'preemie' weight.

Nini (guess it is about time to change my signature!)

and everyone is healthy?
Mine were 4.9 4.12 and 4.1 when born. so 8 pounds is big to me :lmao:

Happy Birthday Victoria!! What a beautiful young lady!! Everyone have a great day! Ruth

Well, the whining worked. I just booked for 7 days in September. He pulled the "I really like being there for your birthday." and how could I say no?
Yeah for having a trip planned. :cool1:

I have been making a few rug mugs too. I am giving them to my kid's teachers with a gift card for their end of year gift. I usually just do a card / gift card but these are so easy and fun to make that I thought it would be a nice touch. I also am going to make a "wine" one for my mom.

I think September will be fine. I wish TP would update their crowd predictions for the end of August... :scratchin I would imagine most of those people moved to Sept.

First, I hooked my phone up to the computer, I wanted to put a few pictures on to it... After several tries - my phone locked up the computer and I had to restart everything. Somewhere in the process - my SD card crashed. I thought I lost all of the photos on my phone, but I was able to recover them through the computer. Phew! But it took me over an hour to get it all straightened out.

Not only that, but it's Victoria's 14th Birthday today... So, stay tuned for her annual birthday post!
D~
I hope the crowds thin out for August but I think there are lots of folks that are off in August and not September so many people might not be able to change their vacations. Now that you have all your ADRs adjusted I hope it doesn't change too much, at least you know EMH will probably stay the same.

Glad you got your computer/phone all figured out. Both my phone and computer are soooo slow but I don't want to replace them because I don't want to deal with the switch. I am due for a phone upgrade in July but I think I am going to try and hack it instead of replacing it, that way if I screw it up I will still be able to get a "free" or super cheap phone. Hopefully that will speed it up and I won't have to change my data plan (I currently have unlimited data but once I get a new phone I will have a limited plan).

and everyone is healthy?
Mine were 4.9 4.12 and 4.1 when born. so 8 pounds is big to me :lmao:
Oh my that is tiny.

Nini - I love that your daughter cleaned out under the sink for her daughter. :goodvibes I see you updated your signature. :thumbsup2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VICTORIA. I love seeing Victoria through the years. She is beautiful. Love the one of her sitting on the table and the one with Rufus in the boat. :flower3:

I love late August it is really low crowds. I think that is part of the reason I decided to go. Also we have a very laid back touring approach since we go so often.

That's great news Ruth! When are your dates? We will be there from 9/5-14, just missing my birthday by a couple of days, but I plan to celebrate anyway.

We will be back "home" at Caribbean Beach Sept 21-27. My Birthday is the 26th. We went through the dining "Must Dos" last night and now I need to set up ADRs.

I'm still stressing about keeping up with all our finances, but DH is so determined he even mentioned selling some of his comics - he's been meaning to clear them out, but this might actually get him (and me) in gear and cull both our collections down to a reasonable amount. I'm also thinking more seriously about setting up an etsy shop.

I should probably start a PTR so as to not hijack D~s thread.:rotfl:

Happy Birthday V! While Ali looks a lot like you, V looks more like Josh, I think.

Rough day at the applique; here's hoping Target is a walk in the park (MK or AK would be best!)

Now I'm back from Longyearbyen, Svalbard (Spitsbergen)

Wow how fast that snow meltet.

Your doll clothes and your first outfits looks great.

Happy Birthday Victoria.

I know we do - you are one of the people I am specifically worried about.

You have a crazy life right now, but it's going to be so amazing when you have a new DIL to show for it. :goodvibes

D~

Happy Birthday Victoria.

D, we will figure it out. I've decided after I changed a bunch of ADR's over the weekend for the August trip, to put it on the backburner until AFTER the wedding. I'm losing my mind. We will talk in July and figure out a good time to meet. I know I'm meeting Suzi too.

HAPPY Birthday :cake::rockband:

All caught up finally! I actually got online for the first time at our hotel last night (in Kansas) and I typed a long response to all I read. Then, I went to grab some smilies and lost everything!! grrr

Now, we've made it to Colorado, about 1 1/2 hours away from Colorado Springs, which is where my DD & DSIL's new house is located. I don't know if you remember, but I traveled with them from Ohio to help with the children and will be staying on for a week to help get the household set up. It's been a great trip for the most part. The kids have been wonderful. Little Charlotte (age 4) always manages to sooth Caroline (age 9 mos) when we couldn't stop at feeding time. We had mostly good weather until we hit Colorado this afternoon and ran smack into a horrible thunder storm.

But enough about me...I can't remember everything I commented on before, but I wanted to say first of all, Happy Birthday to V.

Also, since Chipotle is about the only fast food I CAN eat, I'm sorry to hear you cannot tolerate it, even after surgery. I had pancakes a couple of weeks ago and ended up on the bathroom floor from about 8PM to 4:30AM. Such pain. So, not going to "re-introduce" anything else for a while.

Glad Josh was able to fix the truck. It probably gave him fits, but ended with a lot of satisfaction. Looks like you're continuing to score the big savings. But you do need to just step away from the razors!! lol Admitting you have a problem is the first step toward recovery. Or so I've heard!

Love that you posted your first creations. It does make it so nice to look back and see how far you've come. And, sister, you have come far. Not that your first ones were bad, just you now are so extremely FANTABULOUS!! And of course the Donald bag was wonderful and such a nice gesture on your part as well as those who contributed the dangles. They were totally awesome!

I made a pirate outfit for my DGD. It was teacher appreciation day and the theme was pirates. So, I made her a skirt and bought a t-shirt and embroidered a pirate on that. She wore it yesterday and called me when she got home to tell me all about her day. She's in kindergarten. I'll try to post pics on the disboutique thread when I get a chance.

Well, I probably won't be on for quite a while again because they won't have internet at their house at first. Oh, and I wanted to thank you for all your prayers for Dan. His mouth is not bothering him any more and the bone graft is taking nicely now. His shoulder is healing a bit more slowly, but he is able to sleep all night in bed without going to the recliner, so that's great progress. Glad RuthIE is doing better. Congrats to Nini on the newest grandchild, and yay for all the trips being planned. Keep plugging away, D~. I know you will.

ETA: I forgot two things: Love Mo's new "bag" and what a bummer about all that snow! In Ohio, we've been having pretty nice weather. It's cold here in Colorado, though. brrr.

Happy Birthday V!!! Hope you guys had fun! Loved the photos through the years, and yes got a little teary, because my dd will be that age before you know it. And I already miss holding her as a baby.

Congrats to Nini on the baby granddaughter!

Disneychic...glad your dh is doing better!

Oh and you are so lucky Josh can fix things!!!!

Happy Birthday!

I have to comment on the under the sink photo... When my daughter came along, she used the under sink area as her own little play house! It ALWAYS had toys under there. When we moved to Germany there was no area under the sink to play and she was crushed.

Now that she has a daughter of her own...not even a week old yet...she has the space under her sink already stocked with toys!

Nini

V says thank you! :)

LOL Love that your dd cleaned out under the sink. We had end tables I used to crawl into when I was little.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VICTORIA!!!

all grownd up!!! i love the montage of pictures!!! Big Hugs!!!

Umm... my favorite is the playing tug of war with MM and the stick... didn't we just have this conversation yesterday?!?!? :confused3 and you wonder why....

Have a great day!!!

V says thanks! :)

LOL - yes, but the conversation we had was about Alli - not V. :confused3

Happy Birthday Victoria

Victoria says Thank You Ruthie!

Happy Birthday Victoria! I have to admit....maybe the hormones.... I got teary eyed watching her grow up before my very eyes. Thank you for posting. She was a beautiful baby. And is a beautiful you lady now.

Enjoy the day!

Awww... Victoria says thank you.

Thanks!

I don't think I mentioned it here... I tend to hijack everyone's TRs so much I can't keep up! LOL!

So, since I brought it up...4 weeks early via emergency C section weighing in at 8 lbs 2 oz and 20 1/4 inches long. (She lost down to 7lbs before leaving hospital) Both mommy and baby are doing wonderful!

Nini

So glad they are continuing to do well.

Happy Birthday Victoria!

We came home to a mess last night. My three savage beasts (schnauzers) managed to get a squirrel. That was fun to clean up. After washing their blankets I found what I thought was a piece of mulch in my washing machine. Nope, it was a squirrel foot, toes and all!

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I would :faint: - I don't do well with parts...

WOW! She is a big baby for 4 weeks early awesome birth weight!!!! CONGRATS!!!! glad everyone is healthy!!!!

Me too!

:crazy2: Ackkkk ! The ONE thing I hate about having dogs I get the circle of life but disgusting ! There are a lot of geckos, snakes, & squirrels that enter the death zone around here every now and then too Always feel like I should put a warning sign on the fence

ACK!!!

Saw you changed your siggy! :) Congrats again - she is adorable!

and everyone is healthy?
Mine were 4.9 4.12 and 4.1 when born. so 8 pounds is big to me

So TEENY! Alli was 9.1 and V was 9.2!

Happy Birthday Victoria!! What a beautiful young lady!! Everyone have a great day! Ruth

Victoria says thank you!

How are you doing Ruth??? I've been thinking of you.

Yeah for having a trip planned.

I have been making a few rug mugs too. I am giving them to my kid's teachers with a gift card for their end of year gift. I usually just do a card / gift card but these are so easy and fun to make that I thought it would be a nice touch. I also am going to make a "wine" one for my mom.

Awesome idea! I wish I had the time to make gifts for people.

I hope the crowds thin out for August but I think there are lots of folks that are off in August and not September so many people might not be able to change their vacations. Now that you have all your ADRs adjusted I hope it doesn't change too much, at least you know EMH will probably stay the same.

I hope it stays close to the same... I will be so annoyed if I have to change everything around again. LOL

Bummer that you would have to change plans upon an upgrade. We didn't have to last year when we upgraded - but it worked out better for us if we did.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VICTORIA. I love seeing Victoria through the years. She is beautiful. Love the one of her sitting on the table and the one with Rufus in the boat. [/QUOTE]

V says thank you! Yah - my girls were climbers...

I love late August it is really low crowds. I think that is part of the reason I decided to go. Also we have a very laid back touring approach since we go so often.

Some day - I hope to go so often that I can tour like you. ::yes::

We will be back "home" at Caribbean Beach Sept 21-27. My Birthday is the 26th. We went through the dining "Must Dos" last night and now I need to set up ADRs.

Yay!

That's awesome!

I should probably start a PTR so as to not hijack D~s thread.

No worries. :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday V! While Ali looks a lot like you, V looks more like Josh, I think.

Victoria says thank you!

See.... now I know this is weird, but I think they both look like me (Alli more so) - but they look nothing like eachother. Some of the faces V makes are a dead ringer for me when I was younger... But Alli looks just like me as an adult. Weird - I know...

Rough day at the applique; here's hoping Target is a walk in the park (MK or AK would be best!)

I would take any of them. LOL

Now I'm back from Longyearbyen, Svalbard (Spitsbergen)

Wow how fast that snow meltet.

Your doll clothes and your first outfits looks great.

Happy Birthday Victoria.

Thank you Lillian - glad to have you back... I missed ya! I even went over to your TR the other day to see if everything was OK. I hope you had a great trip!

Thank you Kathy.

LOL - that's probably good that we wait until July anyways... It will give me pleanty of time to change my mind a few more times. :rotfl2:

I know you are super busy with the wedding - please, no worries... :lovestruc

HAPPY Birthday

Thanks Michelle!

All caught up finally! I actually got online for the first time at our hotel last night (in Kansas) and I typed a long response to all I read. Then, I went to grab some smilies and lost everything!! grrr

I hate it when that happens!

Now, we've made it to Colorado, about 1 1/2 hours away from Colorado Springs, which is where my DD & DSIL's new house is located. I don't know if you remember, but I traveled with them from Ohio to help with the children and will be staying on for a week to help get the household set up. We had mostly good weather until we hit Colorado this afternoon and ran smack into a horrible thunder storm.

I do remember, very glad you checked in. I am glad you had a safe trip - minus the Colorado storm... I hope you have a great time with them.

But enough about me...I can't remember everything I commented on before, but I wanted to say first of all, Happy Birthday to V.

She said Thank you!

Yikes - yes, it might be best that you stay away from new foods for a while.

I did notice, this last time I ate at Chipotle that it didn't taste as good to me as it used to. I think it's caused me so much pain for so long, that eventually my mind has just decided not to like it. I can eat almost anywhere else and not have any pain...

Glad Josh was able to fix the truck. It probably gave him fits, but ended with a lot of satisfaction. Looks like you're continuing to score the big savings. But you do need to just step away from the razors!! lol Admitting you have a problem is the first step toward recovery. Or so I've heard!

LOL - I know... Not to mention the shaving cream... The SAD part of this, is when I got the razors home, I didn't have any more room in the drawer, so I had to take them all out of their packaging to fit them in... While I was taking them out of their packaging, there was 1 Target coupon in each package for a FREE shaving cream... It's FREE - gotta get it. LOL Then I am DONE... Gotta be DONE!!! :rotfl2:

Love that you posted your first creations. It does make it so nice to look back and see how far you've come. And, sister, you have come far. Not that your first ones were bad, just you now are so extremely FANTABULOUS!! And of course the Donald bag was wonderful and such a nice gesture on your part as well as those who contributed the dangles. They were totally awesome!

Thank you Lois, that was so nice of you to say!

Awww... That sounds adorable!

So glad that Dan is doing better - he has been in my thoughts.

Take your time checking in again, and have a great time with them. :lovestruc

ETA: I forgot two things: Love Mo's new "bag" and what a bummer about all that snow! In Ohio, we've been having pretty nice weather. It's cold here in Colorado, though. brrr.

LOL - love Mo's new bag too! HOpe the weather warms up for you soon.

Happy Birthday V!!! Hope you guys had fun! Loved the photos through the years, and yes got a little teary, because my dd will be that age before you know it. And I already miss holding her as a baby.

V says thanks! I know - it's kind of sad watching them grow... It seems like yesterday they were so little.

Oh and you are so lucky Josh can fix things!!!!

I know! :lovestruc

**********************************************************

Yesterday, I worked at Target all day. I got to work with one of my favorite Team Members, so it was a nice day. It was also a short shift - and it was so nice. No foot pain this morning, which never happens after working a day at Target.

After work, I did a bit of coupon shopping... I got the shampoo/conditioner sets I was planning to get, also the nail polish remover, and the razors. When I got home, I couldn't fit the razors into the drawer where I had them stored - so I had to take all of them out of their packaging. A couple of the packages had Target coupons for FREE shaving cream... I have tons of shaving cream at the moment... But FREE is FREE and it doesn't go bad. If all else fails, I have enough extra that I can give it to my dad - he always needs that sort of thing.

I went up to my sewing room for a little while before V got off the bus, and I worked on a little side project I have going... I got pretty far on it -and only have about 10 minutes of work left to do to finish it up.

While I was finishing up in my sewing room (after V got home) - I heard the door bell ring... Then I heard lots of little children singing Happy Birthday... It was too cute! The little neighbor kids that the girls always babysit for came over to sing Happy Birthday to V. :cloud9: Their mom also made V the "Shirley Temple" cupcakes she requested - they turned out so adorable! I just love every one of my neighbors... Well, almost every one. LOL

20130508_162959.jpg

V requested bratwurst on the grill for dinner last night, so that's what we had. Then after dinner another set of neighbors and their kids came over to celebrate V's birthday with cupcakes and icecream. She didn't want candles in her cupcakes, so we just sung to her.

20130508_191954.jpg

Over all, she had a wonderful birthday - so she says... We are both looking forward to our MOA shopping trip on Saturday... Along with her birthday $$ from us, she has a bit more to add to it... She loves clothes, so I have no doubt what she will be getting, and where she will spend the bulk of her $$. LOL Hollister anyone? I am hoping for a good sale for her this weekend. :lovestruc

Today, I plan to start assembling the custom order bag I've been working on this week. I also hope to finish it today and assemble and finish the wallet too. That's the grand plan - we'll see if it actually happens or not.

With taking V shopping this weekend - I won't have as much time to work on my May auction bag as I would have liked - It's gonna be close. As it is, I will be working on it ALL DAY on Mother's Day - which does not make Josh happy at all. But I don't have much choice. Sigh.

As you all know, I've been struggling with what to put on some of my wallets... You know... Too expensive for a detailed applique - but can't come up with any ideas for anything simple. I was surfing the internet the other day, and I stumbled upon someone's digital images (I don't want to go into too much detail here) - but I sent her a message, and asked her if I could turn some of her digital images into appliques... Fully expecting her to say "no"... In return, I would give her full credit for the image in my auction listing and link back to her page. And she gave me permission to use them! I am super excited! These images are just perfect for what I have been looking for. :woohoo: So, now some of my unfinished projects have a plan. :woohoo:

Anyways - I better get on with my day - I have so much to accomplish and not enough time... I am going to have to start pulling some 24 hour shifts soon... I want to get all this auction stuff done before Suzi and Mo get here, and as it's looking now, that's definitely not going to happen. popcorn::

Oh - and I wanted to leave all of you with an MM picture... Every night after dinner, when it's nice, Josh and I go sit on the back deck and chat... I like to swing, and so does MM... LOL :rolleyes1 I did text this photo to some of you, because it's just "him"... His personality and his hair reminds me of the stereotypical long hair surfer dude garage band type... Think Pauley Shore. LOL

20130507_190702.jpg

Thank you for all the birthday wishes for Victoria... She read all of them this morning and while she was reading them, I was explaining to her who all of you were. I do talk about you guys often, so the girls kind of "know" you. :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful day everyone, and I hope you are all doing well.

D~

D~ been MIA and lurking but wanted to wish Victoria a Happy Birthday !

Glad to see you Erin!! I haven't seen you around here or FB much lately. D~

Nope, we have our Disney themed scrapbooking crop on Saturday so that is taking up a lot of time. Currently I am only on Dis since I am on hold with Disney to apply the discount to our reservation.

MM is such a handsome boy! That picture really shows his personality.

It sounds like V had a wonderful birthday.

Glad she had a great birthday!!! My boss walked in while i was reading.. and said I need to make the cupcakes with the cherries. Sooo.. Umm. I need the recipe!!!

MM always makes me think Mighty Mouse!! He is still cool dude!!

Your busy...
Go back to work!:rotfl2: :lmao:

Its funny you said your girls look like you (they do!) but don't look like each other. My boys both look like their father, but don't look anything alike. Funny the way that works sometimes.

Glad V had a good birthday. Today is my oldest son, Steven's bd - he's 32 - and I want to know how that happened. :scratchin:confused3

Sounds like you had a good day yesterday :goodvibes
How sweet of the neighbor kids to come over and sing happy birthday for V.

I LOVE the picture of MM! Our pets just make us happy!

I'm doing pretty well and am back at work! If only I didn't get so tired?? I have little or no energy at the end of a work day and end up in bed almost as soon as I get home! At least I have days off! I'm in a cardiac rehab program and spend most of my days off there! That is about all the exercise I get, so it's a good place to be.

It's a beautiful day here in Michigan!! Hope to enjoy it! Everyone have a great day! Ruth
