~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

I had to laugh at this. I am sorry the CPK scenario is funn.

Yah - even my family was laughing hysterically at me during dinner last night. I knew I shouldn't have told them. :rolleyes1

I hope you're having a good trip... I loved the photos you've posted so far on FB.

LOL! CPK at Disney!

We had so much wind last night and this morning...I was convinced that my dream actually happened! I dreamed the downstairs door had blown open and all my dresses were ruined! I was a little afraid to go down this morning. First thing I did was get those dresses in their plastic bags so they would be protected! LOL!

Nini

Oh no - that would have been awful! Yup - wrap those dresses up right away, before anything happens. :thumbsup2

Cabbage Patch.....funny! Yep, that would've been a nightmare for me too.

It was awful! LOL And I was soooo mad!

Happy you had fun at your DH event. I honestly think sometimes convincing ourselves we are going to have a bad time, ends up giving us low expectations and we surprise ourselves!

I often think that too.

hehe giggling about the themed SoG pool. One of my nephews had an issue with CPD's when he was little...almost a phobia. I think a pooled themed to that , may be enough to give me a phobia of them.

LOL I don't think the pool themed with them would be bad... but this was the little cloth bodied dudes all over in the pool and on the slides - it was sooo full that you couldn't see the water.

The funniest part, is that yesterday SoG posted their artist's rendering of the Magnolia pool - and their is no slide. Now, it's been a while - but I think the Magnolia pool is the quiet pool and the other pool is the one that's supposed to get the slide? I asked them on their page - but I forgot to look to see if there were any replies...

your DD's borrowing then donating your clothes cracked me up. Reminded me of a story. My eldest DD was wearing a tank top one day, to which I replied, is that lace on your bra or the shirt. I'm not sure why, whether it was her hesitation or I just noticed....it was lace on the bra....MY bra. My brand new worn once- splurge because it was a VERY special occasion bra- ,my $52. bra...and trust me when I say I SELDOM spend that kind of money on a bra. I was about to :furious: when I looked at her face, and I couldn't help but laugh. If there was somewhere for her to hide... Then she come out with... I love you... more like a question than an answer. I absolutely love having a daughter, but geesh...sometimes.

ROFL... Can't say that's never happened to me before. :rolleyes1 Great story!

You are definitely the coupon queen. No doubt about it.

Thanks Kathy... I am not sure how much better I could do in MN? But it's fun!

I remember they used to schedule certain things on a sports night. And I never understood it because the sporting events are planned way in advance and the concert or play were never scheduled that far in advance. Then they'd go and do it on a big night for the sports and they would not change it and told the student they would fail the class if they didn't show up to the concert or the play. I'm sorry...but the first scheduled thing to me gets priority and they should have changed their date.

Exactlly... Alli's track scrimmage was scheduled first... so technically... :rolleyes1 LOL

Sounds like you had a good time at your hubby's event.

It was definately more fun than I thought it would be.

Oh wow... I don't even know which one is my favorite? I just LOVE the one with "my first ears" on & in front of Pluto's house - soooo cute!

And all the others... Dillon is just adorable - and I can't believe how much of WDW he got to see - that is just the coolest thing ever!

It's clear to me that Dillion lived a very lucky life, and he was so fortunate to have you Ruthie.

Loved the CRT photos you emailed me too... THanks so much for sharing. :thumbsup2

What time on Friday???? I could go Friday :)

I'm not sure yet...I will message you on FB when I get a better idea of time. I'm thinking between 11 and 12 is when I'll get there, but I'm not sure.

Sounds good!
:thumbsup2

Wish I could go on Friday too... :rolleyes1 Have fun! And be sure to tell me how wonderful it was. :woohoo:

I worked really hard in my sewing room all day yesterday. The bag I am working on this week has a lot of details, and I am trying to accomplish as much as I can - as what I don't finish will have to roll over into another - not so busy - week. I personally don't like unfinished projects...

Now that I am starting to feel better (finally) - I've gone back to my morning work outs... I was really starting to be hard on myself for how sloth-like I was feeling. But I have no more excuses. :thumbsup2 Hopefully, I will start to get my normal energy back. Once the snow melts, I hope to get out and start walking more too.

I fell asleep early last night - in one of the love seat recliners... Which explains all of my missed texts. With out going into too much detail - please send some prayers out for my BFF... Her and her dd are having some issues, and could really use some extra prayers. :grouphug:

I hope you all have a wonderful day. :wizard:

Good for you getting back into a workout routine.

Can't wait to see your newest bag. And am anxiously waiting 1hr 10mins. :)

D,
Your story about going to your dh's event reminds me of myself. I have to go to at least 2 or 3 Navy events with my hubby during the year. I feel so out of place and 90% of them come without their wife. Most of the wives are anywhere from 10 to 15 years older than me and nothing in common. Next week I have to go to a retiree luncheon with him because he wants to catch up with some of his fellow teachers. (I'm only going because I have to drive him there...he is still having these crazy dizzy/fainting spells and has decided it's not safe for him to drive).

You know BFF added to the ever growing list of prayers

Yes Dillon was a special boy, I was blessed to have him but all the other fur babies around here are pretty great too It always amazes me the different personalities they have (just like all of us) It made me happy to share him with you

Glad you liked the CRT pictures you got just a hint of what a great experience that was

Have a blessed day all

When I was pregnant with my third child, we had just moved to DC. Hubby had a formal to attend...to celebrate his units 200th birthday. He was in charge. I had met zero people there at that point. I had to find a formal maternity dress with zero budget, go to a formal affair where I knew zero people, and see my husband for zero minutes!

FUN time! (not) However, I did earn a lot of Brownie points with his unit commanders...they all told him their wives would not have even considered it!

LOL Nini - I KNOW that... I honestly don't know what I was more upset about... All of the Cabbage Patch Kids overtaking the resort (LOL - literally CPK dolls EVERYWHERE... And I AM a doll person) - or the fact of no pool... :confused3 I mean - literally - there were CPKs all over the many pool slides... In my dream, I was convinced that the whole reason for the pool being closed was all the CPKs in it. It was just bad.

I know, we have had some crazy weather lately. Glad that was just a dream. I am waiting for the warm up and dreading our trip to Michigan and Pennsylvania next week. I just hope it doesn't snow while we are traveling.

Great pictures and obviously a patient dog since he didn't seem to mind getting dressed up for Disney. When he met Pluto he was probably wondering what happened to make snuggle toy so big. :)

I'm not sure yet...I will message you on FB when I get a better idea of time. I'm thinking between 11 and 12 is when I'll get there, but I'm not sure.
So jealous. Hope you girls enjoy your trip to LCM.

D~ I'm glad your girls are so charitable with your clothes. :rotfl2:

Curtis had to write "I will not wake up Casey" five time this morning because he can not keep quite in the morning. He also spent Friday afternoon writing "I will not forget my folder" since I had to drive him back to school to get his homework folder (after reminding me countless times and then once RIGHT before he got on the bus in the morning). :goodvibes

Yeah crazy what I've put him and the other "kids" through over the years
also have 2 pointer sisters in the family YES The Pointer Sisters and for their birthday one year they had matching princess crowns and mardi gra necklaces
you know what ? I rjust realized how insane I sound :rolleyes2

I love those red clogs!!! I am way behind on about 7 TRs...mostly because I just subscribed to a bunch that already have lots of pages. But, I wanted to stop in and bow to you again!!! You are just an amazing, and talented person!!! :cheer2:

I'm back!!! We had a great trip like always!! Had high's and low's but that's life. I did have a magical moment which brought tears to my eyes so I'll be sure to at least post a few pics from that once we've had a chance to get them off the camera.

You've been busy!!! Great savings!! Had more I wanted to comment on but I guess I'm more tired than I realized!!

Yah - I don't like military events too much either. Especially with the unit that Josh was deployed with - they were all together FOREVER and a really tight knit group, which we really weren't much of a part of. However, I did make a few lifelong friends from that circle - so it's not all bad. :thumbsup2

I agree that you should be driving your DH... That sounds awful for him. Do the Dr.s have any idea what is going on?

Oh YIKES! I thought it was awful that I had to go to a wedding when I was 40 wks pregnant with Alli... I can't imagine a formal event!!! Kudos to you!

It's slowly starting to warm up here... We are predicted to be in the high 40s all week - which is very welcome. Even though we have about 2 feet of snow pack, I've thrown caution to the wind and broken out my flip flops... So tired of confned toes. :rolleyes1

**********************************************************

Do I dare mention how crazy yesterday was for me? Even I couldn't predict it! So, I opened to take orders again at 8am... I did not refresh my FB page until a full 5 minutes later - I had well over 60 responses for orders! I've been told that I sold out of custom slots in under 30 seconds. It was insane and awesome all at the same time. :woohoo: Now, I am officially booked solid until the end of March 2014!

So, then I went up to my sewing room to work on my applique - it's really cool - so far. ::yes::

Almost the whole time, I was on the phone with BFF... I wish I could tell you all about what is going on, but I cannot. They are in such a difficult situation and I feel so badly for them. I wish there was something I could do - but there is just nothing. :(

I did have to run to town yesterday for a hair cut - which I so badly needed. My next one is 6 weeks out (I've been going every 4) - so I am not sure how I will get through it, LOL. :rolleyes1 But I scheduled all of these appointments to eventually land so that I have a cut and foil the week before our trip - so I had to have a long stretch in there somewhere.

Then I came home to try and sort out all of the new people on my schedule. I was literally sitting here for almost 7 hours yesterday... I started at a little after 2pm, and didn't go to bed until almost 9pm. With out going into too much detail... I wish that people would thoroughly read the rules of ordering when I post them on my page. I don't write them for my health, they are important, and I just get frustrated when someone doesn't do what they are supposed to and then expects me to accommodate... I wish I could go into more detail about this here, but I can't. Then I am the one who ends up feeling badly, and I shouldn't. It goes back to me being only one person, I can only do so much. I have a family, other commitments and in this case - 2 major holidays thrown in there plus - I have to schedule myself a break every now and then. Ugh... I really shouldn't complain... but I try sooo hard to be perfectly fair to a fault, and no matter how fair I am - I just can't accommodate everyone's wishes. :(

So, I think I was in bed last night before my head hit the pillow - I was so wiped!

Today is a Target day... :worship: Really not looking forward to it... I have so much in my sewing room that I'd rather be doing.

Anyways - I hope you all have a magnificant day!

D~

Your BFF will continue to be in my prayers.

I couldn't believe how quickly those custom slots filled. I thought I was a quick typer, but, I saw your post, typed as fast as I could, but was something like 25th on the list! holy cow! You are in high demand! good for you! I will be quicker next time :) Trying to be fair sometimes is like trying to blow dry your hair in a tornado...just doesn't seem to matter. Some people will always blow you away. ;) Very nice of you to try.

Hope you like your hair cut. I always wait too long to get mine cut. You are smart to schedule your appts. in advance. I always have to wait to see when someone is available to take me.

Thanks! It's so hard to stay motivated sometimes. :thumbsup2

Oh gosh! I hope I followed your rules OK! I'm usually very good about that. I was a tad overwhelmed, though! I can take critisism well if I ever annoy you!!! Just send me a message. Believe me..l truly want to make your job easier. I loved teaching, but couldn't stand when I would send parents multiple forms of communication on a topic, and half were still clueless as to what I was talking about! :)

Congrats on filling up your orders so quickly. I knew they'd fill up quickly. But I didn't think it would be that quickly. :cheer2:

I did not try. I knew I'd have to be one of the first to order since my trip is in October. And we probably won't go again until my second grandchild turns five.

Which will be a while, since I only have one grandchild.

Both of my daughters are talking children, so I might be a grandmother again within about a year and a half. Good possibility that they may have their children within a few months of each other. So we may have a big trip...somewhere around late 2019 or early 2020.

I trust you'll still be making bags then.

:rotfl2:
Your a rock star your bags are in HIGH demand. People should be happy they got on the list and those that didn't make i am sure will want to take a spot.
:thumbsup2 your not mass producing them. your only one person.
i still want my bag by sunday.. Just sayin... :stir:

LOL...you sound like me with the grand children! I told my oldest that I waited 30 years to be a grand mother...since he was 30 when they had their one and only! Now she is 5 and I will be a grandma again in about 8 weeks. My second son will be getting married next year...and they are also talking about waiting a couple of years before they start with a family!

At least my oldest daughter plans on having 3 or 4 close together...I told them I can not continue to wait 5 years between grand children...I don't think I will last that long!LO

(Of course, I am in no hurry for my two youngest to start having kids...they are only 11 and 12...)

The activity on our FB page yesterday was insane. So many people wanting a slot. I understand now that it was pure luck that I got a bag when I did.

I hope it all turns out well for you BFF.

Here it is snowing A LOT. Since it's Easter many people want to go in the mountains skiing. So we have had many snow avalanches in a week. 5 People have died so far. 3 people haven't even been found. Why can't people just stay at home when the risk for snow avalanches is so high.....

LOL Nini - I KNOW that... I honestly don't know what I was more upset about... All of the Cabbage Patch Kids overtaking the resort (LOL - literally CPK dolls EVERYWHERE... this is a horrific nightmare... this is where my start of my phobia of dolls came from! do you remember the tabloids stating how they used to come to life if the child took excellent care of the dolls? like gremlins??? that stuff is just terrifying!

I forgot to add. I LOVE LOVE the picture of the horse... that is a darn riot!!!
