~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

This was a very difficult bag for me to make, not only because I was still recovering from the ansetesia, but Mr. R was not cooperating at all. SSE and all of it's "supports" were entirely hand cranked, and I was not a happy camper. The next time I decide to quilt an applique piece before I actually applique it - I will think twice. :rolleyes1 HOwever, the quilting really gives SSE a depth that I cannot translate into pictures - but in person - it looks pretty cool.

In the end - I do love the colors of this bag. The owner requested blue - because she loved the white of SSE with the blue blue sky... And I have to agree with her - the blue really alows SSE to pop off of this bag.

D~
I SO love this one! I love the fabric you chose for the inside.

Phew! I am running late today.... I just now returned from my trip to town. The fact that the roads are quite bad already didn't help matters much. But I did cancel our appointment for later this afternoon - the roads were not good now, and I can only imagine them getting worse as the day progresses.

Anyways... Before I head up to my sewing room - I had to share my morning coupon deals... I did amazing! If I do say so myself...

All of the items I purchased were on my grocery list for next week... Granted - with out coupons, I would not have purchase 3 fabric softeners (I would have purchased 1 - likely)... But...

My grand total at the register this morning was $124.44! Yikes! Remember, I was only plannig on buying -$19 in items... Yup - totally blew the budget on that one. Yes, it's Target - I thew more into my cart than I had initially planned... Doesn't everyone? :confused3 After all of my coupons and discounts, I paid... Drumroll please.... $47.08! :goodvibes That is a savings of $77.36 or 62%. Plus I got a $5 GC for later...

I am very happy with that!

And because I am a dork - this is everything I got for that - looking at this photo, I am not sure that this looks like $124 worth of stuff though:

20130304_101643.jpg

For reference... Those puppies in the top right corner in the photo would have cost me $20/each. And yes, I know they are not "necessary" purchases - but I have a new nephew coming, and with my coupons, they were only $5 each. :cool1:

OK - I must get to work now, I hope you all have a wonderful day!

D~

I am so jealous! Being in Canada, we don't have couponing like you guys do! The most you ever get off a product is probably $2 and there are manufacture coupons and that's it. no store coupons, no double coupon days, no store cards and nothing.... not a thing. The coupons that I do see are never of any use. I don't shop a lot, I do try to use coupons when I do but it's rare. My mom does most of the shopping and tries to use coupons, they most she's ever saved is like $5 off her total order. Add that to the fact that our dollar is almost at Parr with US yet our prices remain higher for the most part and it sucks. We never get really good sales either. not on food.

So this explains why I have a $500 Joanns order sitting in my cart waiting for me to go through it and delete most of it. :(

Our fabric usually runs $8 a meter for the cheaper stuff, up to $20 a meter for more expensive. Generally the good fabrics average around $12-$16 a meter. our quilting solids are $15/meter. I NEVER buy stuff that is not half off if I can help it. I recently spent $100 on material and while the stuff I got was nice and it was no more than $8/meter regular price, it stunk I got 8-10 yards of material. I checked Joanns the other day as I knew their fabric was on sale and I plan to do an order and have it shipped to a friend in michigan and get it next month when I visit. The stuff I had sitting in my cart was $90 in price. it boiled down to 30% off everything and it was 21 yards of material! seriously for LESS than I paid at my store I got more than double. sigh... Living in canada really sucks sometimes.

Awww what a great post about friendship. I've actually been evaluating a few that I have right now and you've help see some things in a different light. Thank you!

Aww, now you are making me cry. You have as wonderful a gift with words as you do with fabric. I am happy for you that you have made such a success of your life. On your own terms. How wonderful that your BFF's dad could provide some guidance and inspiration for you.

BTW, our snow storm ended up being an epic failure here. The weather ended up being a degree or two too warm for the snow to stick. We had a gray, slushy day. The kids were thrilled to get an unexpected day off from school. But it certainly wasn't the 6 to 12 inches of snow we expected. :confused3

Us too Diane it didn't even rain here though there are a few flurries here this morning.

D you know I love you and consider you a dear friend. you have a wonderful gift for writing.

I can't wait to see your new creations. I had a stressful day yesterday. Maybe I will put it on my trip report since it is still nagging me a bit.

So far we've got notebooks, mechanical pencils, nice pen, pads of paper, dividers, etc. We're buying her a nice back pack to put it all in. Just your usually back to school paraphernalia

This is a really cool idea! And so nice of you to do.

So Came back to add - I read somewhere that those magic erasers work great on crocs, so I gave her one last week and it made her white crocs look new, so I got her a supply of those.

That's interesting... I've only ever had black crocks - so I just scrub them down in the bathtub. :rolleyes1

$1200 for airfare is crazy. I really hope SW or one of the other airlines comes out with a good sale that works for you soon. It sure is nice (and cheaper) living in driving distance to WDW. We are headed to Michigan and Pennsylvania for spring break in a few weeks so I'm hoping it warms up so we don't have to worry about driving thru the snow and ice.

Can't wait to see what you come up with for your upcoming auctions.

I KNOW!!! It's unbelievable! I am actually hoping that Sun Country has a good sale... They fly direct to Orlando, and they leave out of our "little terminal"... It's so much easier and less stressful for the girls and I to fly out of there.

I hope you have a safe trip... You know... MN is only a couple of states away from Mich... You could do a detour. :rotfl2:

Your spaceship earth bag is very nice. I really like the interior fabrics.

I love your planning calendar. I assume you have photoshop?

Thank you Michelle. Yes, I do use Photoshop... Josh gave it to me for my birthday several years ago - and I use it all the time! I am not that good at it, and only know the basics - but I occasionallyl learn something new and cool. :thumbsup2

Wow...$1200 is a LOT for airfare. I can't believe how high the airfares and car rentals have been.

Hope you have a glorious day and NO MORE SNOW this year.

I know - Just checked for today and it's $410 r/t per person. :confused3 Oh well, I still have a bit to save, so it better not drop until I have enough. LOL

Thanks Kathy, I hope you had a glorious day, as well.

How ya feelin?

Hi Mo! It's great to see you!

I am doing OK... The rash is mostly gone. I have to work at Target today - so I will probably take some allergy meds, just so I am not standing there scratching all day. LOL

All of the bandages are off my incisions and they seem to be healing nicely - I think. :confused3 I was supposed to schedule my post-op appt with my surgeon this week, but it kind of got away from me... I will have to get it scheduled for next week.

How are you doing?

D!! Your bags seriously just keep getting more and more awesome! I still love mine to this very day! (and I'm kinda super thrilled I got one of the first ones....idk why )

OMG!!! Stephanie!!! It's great to see you!!! I've missed ya!!! Although - I am so happy we are FB friends, because I do get to see you on there occasionally. :thumbsup2

ANYWAY, I've been finding myself lurking over these boards again....which got my Disney lovin' wheels in motion....so I'm TRYING to plan another trip!

I know - I can never stay away from Disney for long. Did I see that you started a PTR? I thought I saw your name on one yesterday, but I was running out the door... I'll have to go search.

But I did want to pop in and say hello...let you know I'm back and creepin'. oh and that sewing machine I posted on your fb wall FOREVER ago. It never worked. and we couldnt figure out how to fix it. So.....its on my birthday wish list. we'll see how that goes.

What a bummer! I was so hoping it would work for you. That is the one thing about vintage machines... The first one you get, it's probably best if it works. LOL I was lucky that Patience worked, because all I had to do is give her a good cleaining/rewiring... I am not sure I could have tackled much more than that my first go round? Mr R. OTOH - has been a PITA since day 1 :crazy2: But - for the most part - we have learned to agree to disagree. I hope you are able to find just the right machine for you!

OMG Just got the SSE bag in the mail! The pictures so did not do it justice. The stitchwork just pops out at you. It looks just like SSE! Ah-Mazing. Thank you so much!!!

Yay Wendy!!! So happy you love it. I totally agree - that bag was really hard to photograph and the pictures were so disappointing. I think it looks way better IRL. :thumbsup2 I hope you'll share photos with me when you get to using it in the parks.

D, that is absolutely beautiful (as I sit here with a tear rolling down my cheek). Thank YOU for being a friend.

Awww... Thanks Kathy! I love all of you, and I am just so thankful that I have this great group of people in my life.

A very beautiful and heartfelt post D~! I hold many of the same values as you and truly value all my friendships...both in real life and here on the DIS! Thank you for being a friend!

Thank you so much! It's not often I get all sentimental and mushy... Well - I do it IRL all the time - LOL... but - I am just so lucky to have all of you, and I wanted you all to know it.

I'm feeling pretty good. I feel like this baby is running out of room.

I will have to check out our target to see if they still have the puppy.

I'm excited to see your mini planner pages. They're always so cute!

I remember that feeling all too well... With both of my girls. Just enjoy the QUIET now... Your life will never be quiet again. :rolleyes1 In all honesty though - parenting is such an amazing thing. When the girls were little, I was so concerned about doing everything right... but as they have grown, things have turned from me being the parent to me being their friend (but I am still in charge - LOL). And it's such an awesome thing that these two little girls have turned into my closest friends - and not only that, but they came from me. Such a huge thing to wrap your mind around - but just so AWESOME! Enjoy every single moment of it!

Shoot - I forgot to post my planner pictures... I will do that right away this morning!

D~ that was beautiful and while my flippant self wants to say "Back at ya," my more serious self wants to add something else. I started following you because of your sewing. I looked up to it and hoped to be even half as good. As I've gotten to know you and your dear family (even MM - maybe especially MM, as DH and I only have fur-babies) you have given me more respect for my own abilities when it comes to sewing. Even though we're fairly close in age (if my math is anywhere near accurate) I really look up to you as a mentor, both for sewing and other life actions. You are active in your community, a partner with your spouse, a loving mother, a beginning couponer, an entrapenour and more.

Awww... Ruth - now you are going to make me cry! That was just so nice of you to say. I look up to each and every one of you too... You all just inspire me to be so much better. Thank you so much.

Yes, I do think we are quite close in age... :rolleyes1

Now, serious stuff out of the way...my Kindle has decided that certain pictures are not compatible, so I had to log into a real computer to see the awesome new bag. I'm about to go back and look at the pixie dust pictures.

Glad you're feeling better, and seeing a good deal always makes my day.

I hope you were able to see the pictures... I think I took the one down of me being a dork though. No worries... I am a dork quite often - so I am sure you'll get to see the next ones...

Yah - I was super excited about Monday's deals! I couldn't believe it. I am bringing my coupon binder with me to work today, I would hate to need it and not have it - but I think I will keep it in the car.

Wow what lovely words about friendship. Thanks for sharing that here.

Thank you... And you are welcome!

And now about that airfare....ouch? I am guessing you mean RT for all four of you? I know it is normally now about $200 RT here from MD to FLA. I can't even bring myself to pay that!

Tell me about it - it's really rough right now. I just searched again this morning and it's $410 r/t per person right now... I just can't do that. To be honest, I've been searching intermittantly since we booked back in Jan - and I have yet to see it any lower than $370 r/t per person. :sad2:

No TR updates from me today. Spent my day recovering from illness (just cold and maybe fever) at home. Schools and work all closed but all we got most of the day here was rain. We went out and did a major Target shopping trip. I even used some coupons...but still spent over $200. I am stocked up on lots now though. Plus I go it a new-to-me tablet today and have spent the day setting it up. Got a good deal on a refurb 7inch Google Nexus and am selling off my Nook color and a few other electronics on EBay to pay for it. I love it so far.

Once this advil kicks in and my throat feels a bit better I might attempt some more updates.

Oh no... I hope you are feleing better soon.

I've heard great things about the Google Nexus... I hope your other electronics get a good price for you.

You are an amazing woman!

Awww... Thanks Suzi - you know I think you are too!

Aww, now you are making me cry. You have as wonderful a gift with words as you do with fabric. I am happy for you that you have made such a success of your life. On your own terms. How wonderful that your BFF's dad could provide some guidance and inspiration for you.

Awww... I hope I really didn't make you cry... But thank you - I don't think I write that well, I just write like I talk. Yes - I think of my bff's dad quite often, we were very lucky to have him.

This time of year, an epic failure of a snow storm is a good thing - IMO. LOL

Glad the kids enjoyed their day off of school though... I know my girls were happy to have a snow day the other day.

Yay, new bags! Can't wait to see! Do any of them involve redheads? I know, I just keep subtly dropping hints, eh?

LOL No red heads yet... Maybe, just maybe later in the year. I know it won't be for March, April or May... But maybe after that... :rolleyes1

I managed a decent shopping trip at Target myself. I didn't save as much as you did, but I did take advantage of the $10 off $40. I stocked up on TP and paper towels which we can never have enough of! I also indulged myself in my Febreze car fresheners, which I love and only buy when they're free normally, but I figured this was a good enough sale for me! I also love the Stouffer's family size meal deal. I like to keep them around for a quick easy meal and since I save $1.25 on them and got free veggies to go with I was stoked. Also, I got a good deal on Dr. Pepper 10 and a free liter of Coke to go with it!

It sounds like you did pretty awesome with it though! I thought about doing the Febreez car fresheners - we had some on clearance at our store, but it just wasn't a good enough price for me yet. LOL I am one of those people where some scents in a car give me a headache - so I have to be careful what I buy.

I was looking at my store for the A&W 10, but I couldn't find it... maybe at a bigger Target?

Yikes, that airfare scares me! I hope you guys find a great deal!

I know... We may end up on the Grayhound... I've heard you can go anywhere for $49. :rotfl2:

Holy moly D! What a great testament to friendship and integrity! You actions speak loudly, but those words were lovely. I am so blessed by the people I "know" from the DIS. I think I'm a better person for knowing you! Thank you!

Aww... Thanks! I just love being here - and I love everyone... It's just such an awesome thing to have all these people to cheer me on, and cheer others on. I've been meaning to write that about friendship for several weeks... I was so inspired by how we all banded together and found RuthIE some help... It was such an amazing thing to me. :grouphug:

D~ I just want to thank you for making me feel welcome here. I feel that I know you and am very happy to call you "friend".

Awww T... I am so glad to have you here! Aren't you supposed to be in Hawaii? Or am I confusing you with someone else? If you are there - I hope you're posting from some glorious sandy beach.... :beach:

eeep here i was concerned you were switching your epcot day! whew! lol Tho I'm sure we will meet up at some point at the resort. Our days will be jam packed, but maybe the evening of the 20th. We'll be at Typhoon Lagoon in the afternoon of our arrival day, but I'd like to be back at the resort by 6. I'm sure by the time we get there and leave, we'll barely be scratching the surface of TL but oh well.

LOL Nope - I think all of my park days are set in stone. I am a bit nervous about our Epcot day though... I can't believe we only have one day there - that's going to be rough. We may end up sneaking into Epcot on one of our days off or water park days just to see Illuminations or something - so our actual Epcot day isn't too long... Maybe one of those other days will be a PM EMH? LOL

I SO love this one! I love the fabric you chose for the inside.

That is such a bummer that things are so expensive for you there... I don't know that I would be able to do that? Maybe if I had grown up with it - but certainly not now.

Awww what a great post about friendship. I've actually been evaluating a few that I have right now and you've help see some things in a different light. Thank you!

You are very welcome Sandra... I am so glad I was able to help you out - and I didn't even know it. :flower3: I hope that whatever you decide to do - it's the right thing for you. I know I have chosen to let a few friends grow distant over the years, but I can honestly say that just because I have chosen not to be as close of friends with some people - it doesn't mean that I am hateful towards them - I just choose not to share as much. I am polite, and I do wish them well in everything they do. I just choose not to be as involved. People grow and people change - it's only natural that people grow together and they grow apart. Does that make sense?

Us too Diane it didn't even rain here though there are a few flurries here this morning.

D you know I love you and consider you a dear friend. you have a wonderful gift for writing.

I can't wait to see your new creations. I had a stressful day yesterday. Maybe I will put it on my trip report since it is still nagging me a bit.

Oh Chiara... I do consider you a dear, dear friend as well... I hope that one day we get to meet - as you are at the tippy TOP of my list of good friends that I hope to meet one day. :flower3:

I am so sorry about your stressful day... You should not be having any stressful days right now... I hope that by writing about it - it helps clear your mind. :grouphug:

**********************************************************

Again... Thank you everyone for coming back to read... I thoroughly enjoy having you here and reading about your lives. :grouphug:

I was able to finish my next bag yesterday... I was rather shocked at myself! I still have to finish the wallet though - I plan to do that on Friday morning. I am very excited about this bag set, as it is going to a little girl who just LOVES Disney - her and her family were in WDW last March, but our trips did not overlap, so I did not get to meet them... Her dad is a Diser and occasionally follows my PTR, but does't post much, so I cannot wait to hear if she loves it! I just know she will... and I think it's so sweet that her dad had the foresight to get on my list and order something just for her... Awww... Now I am getting all sentimental - because I can see Josh doing the same thing for our girls. princess:

Then, I took some time out of my day yesterday to write about friendship, because it really is such an important thing in every aspect of my life. I am so very honored to have so many people that I enjoy spending time with - IRL and here.

After that - my day got really crazy!!!!

The girls came home... Alli reminded me that she had conferences, and we had to leave almost immediately... The part came for our refrigerator... Josh wasn't home from work yet... I didn't have anything out for dinner... It was insanity at it's best!

Allison's conferences were AMAZING!!! I am just so very proud of her. Her lowest grade this Tri-mester was a B... She was accepted to Honors Spanish, Honors English, and Honors Civics for next year! I am just so thrilled for her - but she works so very hard and it shows - I have no doubt that next year will be hard for her, but I also have no doubt that she will do well - as she is the type of person who can't get enough learning. Then, her gym teacher begged her to go out for Track this spring... As you all know - we have never been able to logistically figure out sports, because we live so far from town, and we don't have an activity bus (now, THAT is something I would pay for)... But Josh and I think we can make it work - especially as a spring sport, so we don't have to worry about bad weather or roads. So, hopefully we can get all the forms done and in on time - I'd like to see her be able to participate in something.

I came home to Josh swearing at the fridge... :crazy2: Tools all over... Dinner should have been eaten an hour previously...

So, I made a crappy dinner with the appliances I could access with the fridge in the middle of the kitchen. LOL

The part that Sears sent for the fridge didn't fit (yes, we had to go through the whole... we don't make your part any more, so this is the recommended part... Never buying a Kenmore appliance again!) so Josh had to take it apart and make it work. Finally - after 4 hours on a job that should have been 20 minutes, he got it to work and saved our fridge! WHOOT!!! What an awesome man!!!!

By then, it was 8:30 and time for bed... Phew! Crazy it was!

I go back to work today... Looking forward to seeing my pals. Not looking forward to standing on that floor for 6 hours...

I am going to post the Mini-planner pages right away, before I forget again... Then I have to run!

I hope you all have an amazing day!

D~

I can't remember which pages I've posted so far - and I did tweek them a bit... So I think I will start over, and post a couple extra for you today. :lovestruc

I would like to say that some of these pictures came from Diznefreek (the really good ones) - some of the others were on my computer from ages ago, so I can't remember where they came from. If any of these photos belong to you - please send me a PM and I would be happy to remove/ask for permission. Thank you for your understanding. :wizard:

D I love your pages. I am going to download a new edition of Adobe photoshop for the new mac we bought last month.

Sadly our Mac was on its last legs but we are bringing it in for service and then will put it in the basement for C and I to use. It was 5 years old though so I cant really complain.

Have a good day at work and can't wait to see the new bag.

Way to go, Allison.

Poor hubby...but glad he got it working for you.

I LOVE your planner pages...you did an awesome job.

Good for Alli! I guess it's a good thing you decided to move your trip to the summer..that's going to be quite a work load!

Lovin your planner pages. I did something similar this year. Not to carry around, just to give to Sara to give her some idea of what to expect. I love taking people to Disney for their first time!

I remember that feeling all too well... With both of my girls. Just enjoy the QUIET now... Your life will never be quiet again. :rolleyes1 In all honesty though - parenting is such an amazing thing. D~

You are absolutely right. We are definitely trying to make the most out of our last two months of quiet. It seems so surreal at times that we'll be bringing home our son soon. It is a huge thing to wrap your mind around!

Slowly catching up on all the TR/PTRs that I read after coming home from Disney. I've got a serious case of the Disney blues right now. :sad1:
I really need to start planning for my October trip but I just can't get in the spirit yet.

But my latest trip was wonderful! I'll probably start a TR in a week or so, I want to get my PP CD first and I just ordered that last night. Of course I still have 2 1/2 days to go on my current TR.

As usual, my bags worked out wonderfully! They are the perfect size for carrying everything I need in the parks. And I always get a ton of complements on them.

Glad you got your oven repaired! I think I could live without an oven for a bit but without a microwave I'd be lost. Yeah, I'm not much of a cook. :rotfl:

I'm glad your rash is getting better. There's nothing worse than itching and trying not to scratch.

The SSE UPB is beautiful!

Congratulations to Alli on her great grades. Building a good foundation in High School is so important and a lot of kids don't take it seriously.

:goodvibes for the post on friendship. I've been on the DIS for about a year now and have met so many wonderful people. Maybe it's just the Disney connection (few people in my day to day life understand my passion) but I feel closer to people I've met on here than I do in my day to day life.

I know there was more that I wanted to comment on but at this point I've forgotten.

pixiedust: Love love love this...and I have been much better and staying up on this PTR....it has become one of my morning routines now....if only I could be this dedicated to my TR....maybe after our next trip. But, I will totally post pictures here and on my almost dead and gone TR when we give LG the wallet for Easter (if I can wait that long to give it to her that is) and then wait forever til December for the rest of the surprise!!

Thanks for you kind words as well :thumbsup2

How did I miss that post about friendship! It was so wonderful to read. I have had 1 friend just like this in my life and I am so blessed to have known her. She passed away just before her 21st birthday, it will be 10 years this august. It's baffling to realize it's been that long. I hope to meet another and for now I am surrounded by lovely people and wonderful friends.

I am in Hawaii right now, getting ready to go to a Luau. We spent yesterday sightseeing at Southpoint, which is the southernmost point in the US. Then we spent the afternoon and evening relaxing on the lanai with Mai Tais. Living aloha as my big brother calls it. Today we watched the Orioles play a spring training game (it came on at 8:00 am), then went to the beach. :beach: I need to stay up until 1 am to make my ADRs tonight.

This is a friend I've known for 20 years and she come's and goes when it suits her. Right now she's called off our friendship due to me going to an event she didn't agree with. :sad1: I've let her go in the past and am thinking this time around I really don't need the drama she brings. I love this person like a sister but it's still a hard decision to make. You have helped and it did make sense.

But on a good note a friend I've known since elementary school is back in my life to stay!!! We did grow apart at different times in our life but now we talk (whether by email, phone or text) daily and it's like we've never been apart. Her family has welcomed me back into their life also and my kids are sooo spoiled by them!!!

Awww... Now I am getting all sentimental - because I can see Josh doing the same thing for our girls. princess:

That is sooo sweet of the dad to get a special bag made for his DD. Sounds like something my DH would do also for our DD.

Congrats Alli on all the great grades and being accepted into the honor's classes!! That is awesome!!!

Glad Josh was able to get the fridge going again. Always sucks when they send you something that should work but doesn't.

D I love your pages. I am going to download a new edition of Adobe photoshop for the new mac we bought last month.

That will be awesome! My edition is several years old - but I am just happy to have it. I am not sure I could ever justify an upgrade, just because there is so much in the program that I don't know how to use.

Sadly our Mac was on its last legs but we are bringing it in for service and then will put it in the basement for C and I to use. It was 5 years old though so I cant really complain.

Awesome that you are going to have a pc downstairs. I have one in my sewing room, but I keep forgetting to tell Josh that it's doing funny things. Maybe I'll tell him today, then he will have a project to work on this weekend. :scratchin

Have a good day at work and can't wait to see the new bag.

Thank you! I hope to have photos posted this afternoon.

Way to go, Allison.

Poor hubby...but glad he got it working for you.

I LOVE your planner pages...you did an awesome job.

Thank you Kathy - for everything! I really enjoy doing the calendar pages, it seems to make our time in the world go a little smoother. My favorite part was a last minute add on last year, and it was the little cheat codes in the bottom right hand corner... It's our DDP budgeted out for the duration of the trip - so we don't run out of food, or end up with excess. It worked out so well for us.

Good for Alli! I guess it's a good thing you decided to move your trip to the summer..that's going to be quite a work load!

Yes - I agree... But I am sooo very proud of her! We didn't find out about English and Civics until we were at conferences... Her teacher explained it to us... "It's a little like drinking out of a hose at full blast" - Yikes... That's a visual I've done a few times. :crazy2:

Lovin your planner pages. I did something similar this year. Not to carry around, just to give to Sara to give her some idea of what to expect. I love taking people to Disney for their first time!

I remember your planner - didn't you post photos of it? If not, I certainly remember you telling us about it. I love taking people to Disney period. LOL

You are absolutely right. We are definitely trying to make the most out of our last two months of quiet. It seems so surreal at times that we'll be bringing home our son soon. It is a huge thing to wrap your mind around!

It is a huge thing... But it's an awesome and wonderful thing too... I am soooo excited for you! I hope you'll share pictures of the little guy - and the new family once he arrives!

Slowly catching up on all the TR/PTRs that I read after coming home from Disney. I've got a serious case of the Disney blues right now.

Welcome home Ariana!!! I can't wait to hear about your trip!

I really need to start planning for my October trip but I just can't get in the spirit yet.

Give it a few more days, and you'll be ready to plan again. :cheer2:

But my latest trip was wonderful! I'll probably start a TR in a week or so, I want to get my PP CD first and I just ordered that last night. Of course I still have 2 1/2 days to go on my current TR.

Yup - can't wait to hear about it!

As usual, my bags worked out wonderfully! They are the perfect size for carrying everything I need in the parks. And I always get a ton of complements on them.

Yay!!! Sooo glad to hear it!

Glad you got your oven repaired! I think I could live without an oven for a bit but without a microwave I'd be lost. Yeah, I'm not much of a cook.

I'd be lost with out my microwave too... But I am super happy to have my oven back... Every time I use it, I sigh and smile a little bit. I am sure it was feeling a lot under-appreciated for many year there - and now I shower it with love. :crowded:

I'm glad your rash is getting better. There's nothing worse than itching and trying not to scratch.

Yes, it's much better... It's still there a little bit -but not nearly as annoying. It would be much better by now (I am sure) if I actually remembered to put my medicine on and take my medicine. LOL

The SSE UPB is beautiful!

Thanks!

Congratulations to Alli on her great grades. Building a good foundation in High School is so important and a lot of kids don't take it seriously.

I agree! I was not one of those people - High School was purely a social thing for me... I am so glad she is not like me at all. ::yes::

for the post on friendship. I've been on the DIS for about a year now and have met so many wonderful people. Maybe it's just the Disney connection (few people in my day to day life understand my passion) but I feel closer to people I've met on here than I do in my day to day life.

I agree - I've bonded with so many here, it really is a high point in my day when ever I get the chance to stop by... I love seeing everyone and participating in their trip planning excitement. But even more than that - I love seeing and reading about their lives - I am so close to so many here and it's such a wonderful thing!

I know there was more that I wanted to comment on but at this point I've forgotten.

Glad to have you back!!!

pixiedust: Love love love this...and I have been much better and staying up on this PTR....it has become one of my morning routines now....if only I could be this dedicated to my TR....maybe after our next trip. But, I will totally post pictures here and on my almost dead and gone TR when we give LG the wallet for Easter (if I can wait that long to give it to her that is) and then wait forever til December for the rest of the surprise!!

OK - that just cracked me up! LOL You keep up with my PTR - which is mostly NOT about trip planning... You need to put some time in on your own, I think... I better go dig it up and give you a nudge. ::yes::

Thanks for you kind words as well

You are very welcome Mike... Thanks for hanging out in the sea of women. :beach:

How did I miss that post about friendship! It was so wonderful to read. I have had 1 friend just like this in my life and I am so blessed to have known her. She passed away just before her 21st birthday, it will be 10 years this august. It's baffling to realize it's been that long. I hope to meet another and for now I am surrounded by lovely people and wonderful friends.

Oh Erin... I am so very sorry for your loss - I just can't imagine! There will be another kindred spirit that comes into your life soon - I am sure of it. You have been such a great friend to me, and I know that anyone would be honored to call you a friend. :grouphug:

I am in Hawaii right now, getting ready to go to a Luau. We spent yesterday sightseeing at Southpoint, which is the southernmost point in the US. Then we spent the afternoon and evening relaxing on the lanai with Mai Tais. Living aloha as my big brother calls it. Today we watched the Orioles play a spring training game (it came on at 8:00 am), then went to the beach. I need to stay up until 1 am to make my ADRs tonight.

I KNEW it!!! You are sitting in Hawaii, on a beach somewhere DISing! ROFL

But... You trip is sounding WONDERFUL!!! It is my dream to some day go to Hawaii, that would just be amazing!

I sure hope you were able to get all of your ADRs!

Now, go live Aloha!

This is a friend I've known for 20 years and she come's and goes when it suits her. Right now she's called off our friendship due to me going to an event she didn't agree with. I've let her go in the past and am thinking this time around I really don't need the drama she brings. I love this person like a sister but it's still a hard decision to make. You have helped and it did make sense.

I've learned, that sometimes in life, you do have to make decisions that are just best for you and your family. I hope you are able to have fun and enjoy this event anyways. (((Hugs)))

But on a good note a friend I've known since elementary school is back in my life to stay!!! We did grow apart at different times in our life but now we talk (whether by email, phone or text) daily and it's like we've never been apart. Her family has welcomed me back into their life also and my kids are sooo spoiled by them!!!

Yay! That is awesome too! It's so wonderful to have friends like that!

First of all... I am going to apologize in advance... I have posted all of these calendar pages, but I am a dork... I would like to link to each of them individually in my Table of Contents. Which means I need to post all of them again - I am so sorry about this. Just ignore them and go on with your reading. :thumbsup2

The girls and I have to run to town quick this morning (they are on spring break right now)... We plan to be back asap.

I still plan on finishing this bag set this morning... I want it in the mail today! LOL I hope to have pictures posted sometime this afternoon.

Then I plan to start my auction bag... The applique is going to be a bit crazy - but I think it will be worth the effort. :thumbsup2

No big plans for the weekend... We are just going to hang out. Oh - I do plan on taking my Christmas village down... :scared: I know, I know... It should have been down weeks ago (I always keep it up through January), but we had so much going on, and then I had surgery... I still have lifting restrictions, but I am hoping I can talk the girls into carrying the massive bin up for me, so I can finally get it packed away. If I leave it up much longer, I may just tell myself to leave it up, because Christmas will be here soon. :rotfl2:

I hope you all have a wonderful day today!

D~
