I cannot believe how today turned out. I sincerely would Divorce my husband if I could find a lawyer right now that would take Disney Dollars. I need a more Disney friendly husband. Today was supposed to stay all evening long. Since staying all day is hard on the children and Tammy we decided not to leave out until around 1pm so we could view Fantasmic, Wishes, or Spectromagic. After the children napped we were out the door as planned. Our first stop was MGM, but we parked Magic Kingdom since we knew would end there. The Hobbs family was up and out by 10pm eating breakfast. As we left Windsor Palms we called them and told them we were on our way to MK. They asked if we could meet them at Bargain World – they were shopping. We all said, “we’ll see at MGM”. We were not trying to shop at Bargain World today. Can U believe? Tammy decides that today she is no longer craving Trix, but wants a muffin so we stop at that overpriced grocery store on 192 and Formosa Gardens. This has to be the most expensive grocery store ever. We all waited, watched, and listened as complains about the prices, so I politely scream, “JUST PICK OUT A MUFFIN AND LETS GO!!!!!”

We get to Magic Kingdom and catch a bus to MGM. I wish the monorail went to MGM, its so much fast and less complicated. Especially with Strollers, toddlers, and babies, etc. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I did bring my stroller from home because Tammy let someone use hers (who was out of town) and since I was going to use the stroller swap we would have two strollers. Anyway, we get to MGM and our first stop was Beauty and the Beast (B&TB), which was starting in like 15 minutes. It looked like rain so I put my raincoat over my stroller and head in the pavilion. Guess what? It started raining cats, dogs, and a few other unidentified animals. Thank goodness that didn’t stop the show. For those who have never seen this before it’s a must see!!! Again Can U believe my daughter is afraid of Gaston. Why?????? But she’s not afraid of the Beast!!!! In retrospect I think this is the second best show I saw so far (only 2nd to Lion King). After B&TB James and I got fast passes to Tower of Terror (TOT) and headed over to Rocking Roller Coaster (RRC). The rain may have sent a few people home because it was pretty empty. Again RRC is very loud, but enjoyable. David is sitting out any rides and “not having to prove himself to anyone”. Don’t worry I don’t know what that means either; so don’t waste your time figuring it out!!! Besides he has been keeping Tammy and the children company.

TOT this time was more “frightening”. I don’t remember the elevator bouncing up and down. Wow!!! My only words. As we walk out of TOT we immediately see James’ youngest daughter covered with blood. I am so scared my knees freeze. James runs over!!! Tammy (covered in vomit too) tells us that every one was sitting down and the baby leaned back in the stroller (yes the Disboards Stroller Swap) and the whole back fell in and she hit her head on the concrete. Immediately after the fall, Tammy picks her up and she’s crying her head off, bleeding, and vomiting. Tammy contemplates going back to house, but the baby is now playing and appears to be fine. Tammy has a change of clothes for her, but Tammy now needs a shirt, so I find one, purchase it with Disney Dollars, and show her to the bathroom. I felt so bad. At the Turkey Leg place we get a plastic bag and ice (for free!!! Can U believe – something at Disney – FREE) for her head – she has a bump on the back.

AGAIN – PUTTING MY MONEY WHERE MY MOUTH IS, I AM WILLING TO GIVE THE FIRST $20 TOWARD A NEW STROLLER. THIS ONE HAS SEEN BETTER DAYS – AND I LOVE THE IDEA OF THE SWAP!!!! The wheels on this stroller are very worn down, and it looks like it’s on its last leg. PM ME WITH ANY INFO TO WHERE TO SEND FUNDS!!!!

Since we were standing so close to the Turkey Leg stand, I got one. In three words, De – li- cious!!!! By now the Hobbs has graced us with their presence and Melissa is looking strangely at my Turkey Leg. Isn’t she a vegetarian? She asked me to eat that else where before she buys herself one – Can U believe? We saw a few shows including Little Mermaid, Playhouse Disney, the back lot tour, and the Great Movie Ride. All of which were okay – but the Imagineers need to visit Universal Studios – for more creative ideas. MGM cannot compare (IMHO) to Universal. I did enjoy, who wants to a Millionaire, Indiana Jones, and Star Tours. The topping on the cake for me was Miss Piggy. Okay people, I was not a Disney fan when I was little. As a matter of fact (that most of you probably don’t care about) the only Disney movie I like as a child (and still do) is Annie. But I loved the Muppets!!! I’ve seen every Muppets movie so many times I still remember the songs from a few of the movies. Needless to say, this 30 year old was extremely excited to meet Miss Piggy. Call me silly, call me corny, but she kissed me!!! Can U believe? I had to call my father and tell him that – he asked me if I knew that those are people in a costume. I pretended like I had a bad connection and hung up, “Can you hear me now?” When am I going to learn not to include others in when I’m having a moment of Joy!!! I thought he’d at least laugh. He loves telling people how many times I “made” him see the Muppets at the movies, but didn’t at least smile for me!!!!

Around 5pm we stopped at the Back Lot Express for a meal. I had 4 Q & C vouchers left so I ordered enough food to almost feed everyone. David got 2 veggie sandwiches (which he said was very good and taste like a pizza). We also ordered a Turkey and Cheese Sandwich, Chicken Tenders, 2 sides of fries, 4 slushies, 3 chocolate cakes, 1 peach cobbler. The total was $61.XX. Again I have pictures but I can’t upload them from Yahoo photos. If I never eat another chicken finger again, I’ll be okay!!! The vouchers were a huge help, but in most parks the choices are not large (Burger fries, Chicken fries – in most places). You have a better variety in Epcot!!! Also the vouchers are extremely worth it at the resorts cafeterias.

After Backlot Express we headed over to Magic Kingdom. Again people, I don’t care what anyone says I don’t feel “Disney” unless I see Magic Kingdom and that Castle. We immediately see characters so we meet a few! We head to toon town. We visit Minnie and Mickeys house and I do some shopping. I saw a really pretty Castle globe that I wish I had gotten. I still might!!! The children play in the playground while we all drink Lemon Ice (really good by the way). The two toddlers ride Goofy’s ride with their fathers twice. David rode this one!!!

Then the drama begins…………

It is now about 10 minutes before 9. We take the last train to the front entrance for Spectromagic and Tammy is now extremely tired and feeling “weird” so she told James that they should head to the house. I give them the key and David decides that he is ready to leave now too. I say, “no, David, we are viewing Wishes today” (a display I’ve never seen, by the way). Holding our stroller and many bags he screams, “I’m leaving right now and you two – Jamilah and I- are coming with me.” I say, “David if you are so tired – you go- ride with the James and I’ll stay with Jamilah.” Surely he is kidding at this point, because the whole purpose of coming to the park so late was to see these displays. His response, We as a family are leaving right now!!! Does he care about how I feel, does he care that this might be our last day in the park? Does he??? I’ll answer for you – No! I have two thoughts in my head. 1. Can I find a lawyer that takes Disney Dollars and 2. I’m checking out the Disboards for Adults and Singles as soon as I get home. If I was at home I would kick him out!!! I am furious with him right now. We finally make it to the car and the Hobbs calls and asks if I enjoyed the Parade, Can U believe? When we get in our car alone, I say nothing, it takes this man almost 40 minutes to get home (he went the wrong way)- and I refused to say a word. He has some serious making up to do!!!!

More to come, Hurricane Charley, Fight over gas, lock outs, and much more!!!!

Day 9

You poor thing. This is why I don't travel to Disney with other people and my husband stays at home with the dog. What did Jamilah think about leaving the park before Wishes? I would have been livid!!!!!

I can't wait to see your pictures.

I see your point. I hope he got yours later! The stinker..........

Arghhh!
My DH tends to get a little cranky at times at DWD/DL too, so I know how that is. But, for something important like a show or parade we have never seen before...man, would I be MAD:mad:

I am sure it will work out, but I can tell you are upset. Poor you!
Hope the end is better:D

Men can be so frustrating at times!!! Especially on vacation!

I'm sure it all worked out for you but I sure don't blame you for being aggrivated.

:space: Yup, that's where he'd be going if my bf did that to me. To the MOON! Loving your reports!

Hey! I'm a man and I'm also the Disney Whacko of the family. Well, my wife is pretty close behind.

My wife is very easy going and just "goes with the flow". She doesn't care what I've got planned for vacation and does not care where we eat. She trusts me to put together a good time and I've never let her down.

The fireworks (IMHO) are the best part of Disney and should always be seen on every trip. The tough part is when you have the children. When children get crabby, generally the man is soon to follow. At home when our two kids (5 & 2) get cranky my wife barely notices but I get Pi$$y. The longer they cry or throw a tantrum, the more Pi$$y I get. It must be a MAN-THING. Cranky Children = Pi$$y Man. It's easy math.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll make up and move on. He probably feels bad about it now. Whenever I feel bad and know that I've upset the BOSS, I try to make up by doing nice things and being funny.

I have to defend the guys here on this one. My honey is a disney nut as well, he does tend to lean toward the more vulgar and creepy stuff though (ie: haunted mansion, pirates etc lol!!!) however he wil do anything with me in Disney!

As far has your hubby yelling that you were leaving, he has some nerve. I would have told him to go ahead and leave without me, but then again I'm super feministic and probably would have made a really big scene and preached to him about how I make more money, I am an ivy league student and no man will ever dictate to me what I'm going to do EVER!!

I sincerely hope that you went back and saw that parade without his approval

Please tell us what happened next!!!! I hope you reset his course cause he isn't doing so well on this heading!

(My husband had a meltdown like this on our first trip to Disney and I told him I was n ot vacationing with him again. Period. I went alone or with girlfriends my next 6 or 8 trips. They were great. Finally he asked to go again. He was good as gold, having learned his lesson. )

Sorry it took so long. I went out of town for a quick Anniversary getaway. I tried a couple to add the next day, but the server was busy!!!

I have to start by saying that I am a man, and can be unreasonable at any time, just like any woman can. But there is no excuse for acting like that at Disney! I drove down to Disney from Mass with my DW, DD(3.5), DS (7months), MIL and FIL.

To actually make it to Disney to be lucky enough to experience it, to have the ability to see Spectomagic, Wishes, etc. You have to do what people want to do at Disney, that's just the way it is....

Your husband was out of line. I hope you got another opportunity to see it. He deserves all the guilt that he got. Sorry guys. It's true.
