audio editing software

Can anyone recommend a good music editing program that is free? And easy to use? I need to chop up some songs to make them into ring tones, and am working on a picture movie of our trip. Any recommendations would be great!

it's not free but you might be able to use Nero's editing software. Before deciding on it, we used it for a month for free. Not sure if it's still for a month or not, it used to be though. We had to make sure we downloaded at the beginning of the month to get the full month.

(I don't know what all is included in the trial but it does appear that all Blu-ray and HD viewing and editing is not included with the trial.) There is a free version of burning software on the site, they will sell you the add-ons for some astronomical sum. Usually Newegg throws it on sale for cheap.

EAC (exact audio copy) is free and might have some tools in it for use, haven't played around with it for a while.

I don't use WMP (windows media player) but there might be something in there bundled.

Picture movie? Do you mean a slide-show of pictures with music in the background? I haven't done this but have helped with the 5th grade dvd. I forget what the woman used who headed it, she was not happy with it though. It was not Nero, that I am sure of. I do believe Nero has a way to do this, haven't played with it, not entirely sure. These items might be limited in the free trial.

If you have a Mac, use Quicktime or VLC. If you have a PC, I don't really know what to say. Maybe Windows Media Player can do it ... don't know. Google search it. I would google, "make a ringtone with [insert program]"

So for Windows Media Player, I would search: make a ringtone with Windows Media Player.
