attraction question....anyone know?

We are returning for our 5th trip to WDW March 31. My daughter has asked me a couple questions that I don't know the answers to. Maybe you can help!

#1 she wants to know if the rockin roller coaster goes upside down?

#2 she wants to know if there is a barrier in between you and the sea life if you go snorkeling in Typhoon Lagoon?

Yes inddedy doodah you go upside down, spiral to the right and spiral to the left. Take it from chiken TRY IT YOU"LL LIKE IT

You are on top of the water at typhoon lagoon with a life jacket and snorkling stuff on, the sea life can't get you ,it's about maybe 3 ft down , you kinda of float on top of the water all the way across, the water is very cold!!

Just incase you don't know. not only does it go upside down, which is smooth. At the start it launches you from 0-60 mph in 3 seconds, I CoULD feel the g-force on my chest and so could my husband and 9 yr old GS. BUT....did enjoy the ride

As for the snorkling, there is no barrier, but there are plenty of lifeguards around in case your daughter were to go and get scared halfway through. The sharks are small (2 foot long, max) and the sting rays are most likely not poisonous,since it is possible to remove whatever it is that they sting with. Plus, the lifejackets that you receive make you float on top of the water so that you do not have to exude any effort to stay afloat. It is really nice and very safe. I would definitely reccommend that to anyone going to a water park.

Is it just me, or this statement not terribly reassuring?

I did a little research on these type of stingrays (southern stingrays) and yes, there is a poisonous tail on them in the wild but Disney has removed this and made them perfectly harmless. If fact, I found places where people actually interact with them while in the ocean (feeding, snorkeling with, etc) and know that Disney would never put anything in there that could possibly be a danger.

Besides, they mostly stay on the bottom of the end, which is the deepest part of the tank, therefore the furthest away from you. I would highly reccommend doing this, along with bringing an underwater camera. The pictures that I got last year were pretty awesome!

Wow, what a response! I thank you all for your knowledge and advice! We will surely add both of these attractions to our "to do" list! Will definetly use the water camera idea!!
