Just thought I would let you guys know. I was working on my Trip Report from Last November and noticed I had never linked one of my photos. I had a pic of it from my cell phone so I went to the Photopass site to give it a try and what do you know... it worked!!! This is nearly seven months after the pic was taken, but I was able to link and download it easy peasy. I wonder how long Disney keeps the photos for.

i think they're available for a year. i get e-mail notifications whenever i have photos about to expire.

I had some PP from 2012 right after Cars Land open that were stuck for over 4 years.

While photos for download are stored for a year, a CM recently told me attraction photos need to be "linked" to a PP account within 45 days (or be deleted).

Perhaps this is a new policy, or just selectively (or randomly) enforced. I have linked and downloaded attraction photos close to the 1 year deadline.

I know many, many years ago I worked at a place that did custom orders of photo items, and we claimed that we only kept images for 2 years for reorders, but we never actually reached a point where they had to purge the old images to make space for new ones. It could be something like that. They only claim 45 days because that's the soonest they could purge them, but it doesn't mean that they always do.

I just "linked" at the 7 month mark. I bet I could go back over a year.

Last year, I had a ton of pics added to my account that weren't me from dates I wasn't in the park (but close). When I inquired - DL PP support told me they recycle ride numbers. (Yet, 3 of the pics were on a ride I hadn't been on) and so they got added automatically.

My experience is that photos get deleted after around 13 months - definitely over, yet close to, the year. (I'm on my second Signature AP).

Funny you should mention that. I got a notification that a picture had been added to my PP account. We weren't anywhere near the parks, nor did we recognize anybody in the pic. Weird things happen apparently..

Similarly, I did notice that a few of the older photos (over a year old) were replaced with an updated attraction photo (same attraction, but no one that I knew was in it). My guess is that they reused the photo number and it was still linked to my account somehow, so the photo appeared on my account.
