( I am not a pin collector!)

Shame on you Walt Disney World on this your 40th Anniversary!

Shame on you for your Limited Edition, "I Was There" pin being offered with a quantity of only 1500. I've heard some people got there early and still waited in line for three hours. You knew ahead of time the demand would be greater than 1500 and yet you still elected to create the frenzied chaos, disappointment and long, long lines on a day of your own celebration. And for who? The same people who have been buying and collecting Disney pins for years. Your CUSTOMERS! Your GUESTS! Your FANS!

Of course I exclude those same people on eBay that are making huge profits selling YOUR merchandise to people that can't attend the anniversary in person.

So Happy 40th Birthday Walt Disney World! And to the merchandise exec who thought a LE 1500 pin for the 40th was a good idea, I hope you run out of gas on I4 on your way home...

Personally I think an certain executive who shall remain unnamed is an idiot and should be fired for incompetence. He does seem to be responsible for pins.

Several years ago, at one of the multi-day pin events which started on a Thursday afternoon, the was a limited edition of 25 set of Dreamfinder and Figment pins. The price was about $140 for the set.

That Thursday morning there was a special event for a WDCC Figment Sculpt issuance with about 200 people attending.

Both the WDCC Event and the Pin Event First Day were at the Y&B Convention Center.

And I told this (unnamed) executive, to his face, that he threw away at least $20,000 in profits by having the pin edition size so small, know there would be all these Figment fans there. And that as both a Figment collector and stockholder I was very disappointed in his actions.

Frankly, I never thought a 40th anniversary was a big deal. I will be at Hollywood Studios, though, in 2014, for its 25th anniversary, and hope to be at MK's 50th. I'm sure I'll see some great pins at both celebrations.
