I wanted to let you know that Delta has announced new non-stop service to Orlando beginning on various dates in October. Somebody might could take advantage of the introductory sale fares if you happen to be going to Disney World. :)

"New Delta Connection carrier Freedom Airlines will offer new nonstop service beginning in October between Orlando, Fla., and six destinations: Austin, Texas; Charlottesville, Va.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; Jackson, Miss.; and Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport."

I saw this yesterday, but wouldn't you know...we've already got tickets out of NW Ark. on AA. But wow, it would sure be a time/energy saver! The only downside I can see is that it's on a regional jet (RJ135.) 2 1/2 hours in an RJ seat is a real tushy-killer.

Oh, well...maybe next trip. (If Delta's still in business.)

Oh man! That would be great for us if the rates were good!! 2 hours to Charlottesville on roads we are familar w/ vs. 3 hours to Raleigh on somewhat less familar roads would be great. We actually already have our SW tickets from RDU, but that does sound good, even if it is a small plane. It is just so high to fly out of Roanoke--it was anywhere from $600-1000.00 cheaper at every other airport around here!!
