ATTN! Anyone who has made a ressie w/CM Miranda Beth

We got a great rate last week when talking with CM Miranda Beth. She was extremely friendly and helpful. DH even left a voice mail for her supervisor. After I posted to that effect last week, someone (maybe frann?) said we might want to double check the rate ($49 for PC 9/14-9/19). We called back, and sure enough, it was a code that we were not eligible for. We did not want Miranda Beth to get in trouble, because she was so nice and helpful to us. We talked to 2 CMs that day (Thursday), and are waiting for a call back from one of them today to tell us what rates they will be able to give us. They said they would try to do something, since it was their "agent" (supervisor's word) who gave us the original rate, but she wouldn't know until today what it would be. Still waiting for a call back. Later that evening, DH found another post somewhere on the board that another person (who also talked to Miranda Beth) ran into the same problem. So just a word of warning...if you have gotten the $49/night rate from Miranda Beth or ANY CM without a postcard or other verifiable code, please please please double check so you aren't surprised upon check in!

We are grateful to Miranda Beth for her willingness to help, and also to these other 2 CMs who are now trying to straighten it out and make sure we are happy. But always make sure you are getting what you THINK you are getting! And thanks to frann (?) for her heads-up to us about checking our rate!

told me after she applied the code that it required a pin # (she checked only after I asked her to). The code I gave her (from these boards) allowed for 59 +tax/night at AS Movies. Her supervisor allowed the rate adj and noted my ressie because she offered me the rate even after I asked her if any postcard, etc was required. Turns out I am not utilizing the direct mail code, because the new room only code for Sept is better, at 55+tax/night. I appreciated that the CM went above and beyond to allow me to use the original code (even after I told her that I would be ok waiting for AP rates). I think that Disney is to blame for all this confusion, because they are not consistent or forthcoming with their discounts. Those who claim we are trying to "abuse the system" by trying to get rates we are not entitled to have it backwards. Disney themselves make it necessary to go on a covert mission to get any sort of discount ("we can offer you a different rate, but you have to give me the secret password first"). This is not the fault of the CMs or our fellow DIS'ers. I read here that the code was from a newspaper, so I called to inquire. I'm glad it turned out well in the end, as I hope it will for all of us. Regardless, we are all going, and will have a great trip!
