TinkerBean and I attended our FIRST scrappy yard sale at our lss this weekend. We got there early :drive: - and were the 5th/6th in line and got some great stuff.

We had a terrific time - and now want to hit more - where are more upcoming ones in New England? We're hooked! Met lots of nice people, too.

I spent about $100 and she spent about $50. The store's closeout patterned paper was 10/$1 - I bought about 500 sheets! Moxie, Around the Block, Heidi Grace, Sugartree, Dream Street, Allison Connors, Doodlebug, 7Gypsies, MemoryKeepers, Elsie, KI Memories, Adornit, and a line I really like - Piggy Tales' Gretel collection. Oodles of 12x12 paper...also got lots of 8.5x11 Bazzil for 25/$1. Got a MM "precision paper trimmer" NIB for $20 and lots of Primas, pens/markers, rub-ons/stickers, other tools, Thickers, magazines, etc. Now to put it all away...

Whee...this was fun! :hyper:

Absolutely Everything is having one on May 24. :rolleyes1

By the way - you're becoming such a good customer at TSD - when are you and TB going to join us for a crop?

What store was it???

Sounds like a lot of fun! :)

Wow! Thanks for this.

Another friend who absolutely LOVES :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc Absolutely Everything told me early this morning that there's a "Topsfield (Fair?) Scrapbooking Yard Sale in May." Do you think this is one and the same? Sounds like it, but I'm not sure... In any case, she advised getting there EARLY.

I'm new to the scrapping hobby (only since Christmas '08), so I scooped up stuff at this weekend's one (at The Scrapbookers Dream) that more experienced folks weren't interested in - as I was greedily vacuuming up armfuls of my lovely but cheap papers, many women walked past me sniffing..."I already have SO much paper..." I'm sure I'll get that way someday, but now, I'm enough of a newbie (and thrifty Yankee!) that I was all over the 10 for $1 sheets. (So much so that the owner's husband, Wally, now recognizes me as "the paper lady" since he had to count/add up all my bargain papers. Oops!!! :teeth:)

The shop had great clearance tables too, but the vast majority of the items were from scrappers who had brought it, priced it (to move!), and got a store credit for their sold items. Is this also how the AE one works too?

TB and I are dying to do some of the TSD crops. Are the Friday night ones just as fun as the Saturday ones? It can be so hard to get away on some weekends... Also, the ones (and the classes) at The Crop Shop/Rockland sound fun too - anyone do these?

You guys are the best - thanks for your info!

It would be my guess that the Topsfield yard sale is the AE one. It's a mix of half tables of scrappers and half stuff from the store (scrappers outside, store inside.) It starts at 8am inside and 9 am outside. People get there crazy early for that. I went to one once a long time ago, and I think they've only gotten more popular since then.

I've never been to a yard sale at TSD (always seems to be when I'm working), but I have sold quite a bit of my stuff there. In fact I still have a credit from the yard sale months ago. It's a great thing for everyone!

I do think the Friday night crops are just as much fun, just shorter.

JESW - the store we've been talking about is The Scrapbooker's Dream in Tewksbury. It's the LSS for a bunch of us DISers up this way.

NEE: Some more of your stuff left over from the last yard sale sold this weekend as well.

And as far as the crops go, Friday nights are just as good as Saturdays especially if we're there. NEE, Disneynut14, MichellePooh and I seem to crop there about every 2 to 3 weeks. A lot of Fridays but some all day saturdays crops as well.

I've heard great things about the Crop Shop in Rockland but it's a bit far of a drive for me. But, then I'm spoiled because I live about 10 minutes (if I hit all of the lights) from The Dream.

Glad you enjoyed the yard sale! Hopefully you bought a lot of my junk! :lmao: You will definitely have to join us for a crop sometime.

Where the heck is Tewksbury?? :confused3 I am off 495 almost in RI. My lss is A Time For Memories in Grafton. I also like the store in Attleboro and the one in Hyannis when we are on the cape visiting the in-laws.

We should have just a DISers crop at the Dream. Maybe we could talk Laurie into hosting one if some of the other DISers would travel up to Tewks.

That would be awesome! :mickeyjum

There'd be 3 or 4 of us in TBs/my little group, plus all of you who could make it. It would be so much fun!

Laurie told me she's planning on doing an all-day Disney themed crop at some point. She was just trying to find a date.

That's right! We should figure out the date for her :-) so we know we all can go!
